Yongping... It means ”to achieve eternal peace through this path.” The humble wish of the owner of the Cross Saber ultimately went unfulfilled. Stroking the Yongping Horizontal Blade tightly wrapped in cloth, the person seemed to sink deeper into melancholy.

”Even though there is no absolute peace in this world, I still want to fight for it. Even if it means breaking my head and bleeding, I want to witness that era of peace surrounded by tranquility and harmony. No killings, no Insect Race, no wars... Every Alliance Warrior can take off their heavy combat suits, shed their uniforms burdened with the weight of mountains, and walk the streets like ordinary people, seeing those they protect with their lives show the most natural and unburdened smiles...”

Gu Ningzhi looked skeptically at the other person, wondering why this woman was inexplicably saying these things.

”These are the words the owner of the Yongping Horizontal Blade wrote on the monument of her alma mater, and also her own epitaph,” the person glanced at Gu Ningzhi, ”This is also the wish of many people, but just having the wish is not enough... We don’t know how many young and vibrant lives it will take to fill the path to the other side of that wish. In such circumstances, being alive is already a great fortune...”

Gu Ningzhi turned his head, continuing to watch the ”Mother Tree,” all clawing and sprawling, just as the strange woman beside him described. Those ”subsidiary trees” seemed to be afraid of something, avoiding the peak as if a river meeting a giant rock, splitting apart unexpectedly.

”Since this is also the Insect Race... then that guy should have a way to solve it, right?” Gu Ningzhi stroked the jade pendant hanging on his chest. He had already activated it. As for how someone far away on the Qiming Star in the Xilena Star System would sense it and by what means they would appear... he really didn’t know. But there was a strange trust in his heart, telling him it was okay to believe.

That person ignored Gu Ningzhi’s words, knowing there were only two ways to completely solve the Insect Race. One was to use absolute thermal weapons to bomb them to death, preferably without leaving even ashes, because, like worms, many Insect Races could survive by relying on their remaining bodies even if they were cut in half, with one body becoming two. To kill the Insect Race, it must be a lethal strike!

The other method, the most thorough and secure, was for a Mind Power User to intervene. However... everyone in this world considered telekinesis a disease caused by a deficiency in spiritual power, a demon that brings early death in youth, leaving people too frightened to even consider developing telekinesis further. She’s afraid she won’t see such a scene in her lifetime, right?

No! She was overthinking it. The moment the ”Mother Tree” on this planet loses its life would also be her time of death. Life is fleeting; how could it last so long? Thinking of this, she gripped the Yongping Horizontal Blade more tightly, hesitated for a moment, and handed it to Gu Ningzhi.

Obviously, Gu Ningzhi was startled by her actions, not understanding what she was up to, ”What are you doing?”

”This blade... is for you...” The person deliberated for a while before finally stating her purpose, ”Before I met you, I was already prepared to let this blade be buried with me. But since you’ve appeared, let you take it away...”

Gu Ningzhi: ”...” He inexplicably felt like he’d become the protagonist of a war novel written by Princess Fusu a few years ago, having the great fortune of receiving guidance and inheritance from a reclusive master, even acquiring the mythical-grade weapon necessary for defeating monsters at his side... Ahem, all sent to the male protagonist...

”Don’t overthink it, just hope you can hold on with it... If you don’t have the ability or courage to wield it, at least find it a new master. Just don’t let it be idle...” the person explained again, ”Yongping is a blade born for peace, just like its former owner, fighting for their beliefs...”

Gu Ningzhi scratched his messy seaweed-like hair, suddenly feeling a mischievous urge to ask why he was chosen. But even if he asked, the other person would probably give him a blow with the answer — because he’s the only available choice right now! How hurtful!

Gu Ningzhi took the blade, even through the cloth, he could still feel an unusual coldness emanating from it. This chill wasn’t the temperature of his palm; it was a temperature that could affect others’ spiritual power. It sounded fantastical, yet it was genuinely real.

After thinking it over, Gu Ningzhi still returned the blade to her, speaking before she could get angry, ”I once knew someone who said she could deal with these creatures... I contacted her earlier, she will show up, so don’t seek your own death.”
