From BOSS to Canon Fodder: She is Currently Out of Service!

Qiu Yexuan seemed not to notice Zhu Mengtong’s expression and continued speaking as if there was no one else around, ”That kind of power is very mysterious and powerful, even my nearly demonic mentor doesn’t know how to find a way to control it...”

Zhu Mengtong’s heart tightened, and she couldn’t help but recall what Su Jiameng had said earlier, vaguely giving rise to an absurd idea. Perhaps that power can be controlled, and that girl knows how to control it... The so-called amnesia is actually just an excuse.

”My mentor once said, to control such power is simple, but without the correct method, you won’t even reach the threshold after a lifetime.” After Qiu Yexuan discovered the existence of Telekinesis, she became fascinated with it. She wasn’t ambitious to control this power, but there was a rebellious streak in her heart. If she were to solve a problem that even her mentor couldn’t tackle, the thought made her heart race.

”This kind of power requires guidance from a predecessor to learn. Although my mentor knew it was strong, he is not an insider. His understanding of this power is very superficial, let alone controlling it.” Qiu Yexuan said, turning her gaze to Zhu Mengtong, ”I’ve investigated several patients with Simoles Deficiency Syndrome, their bodily data is very peculiar but lacks research value...”

It took Zhu Mengtong a while to find her voice and said, ”You helped me voluntarily because you wanted to get the data you wanted from me? Since that’s the case, why help me seal the lesion? Wouldn’t it be better to let it continue to develop?”

Qiu Yexuan paused slightly while caressing the round platform and looked at Zhu Mengtong with a few traces of bewilderment in her eyes. After a long while, she said, ”Didn’t I say before, I’m a researcher with professional ethics and I’m not going to cross fields and moral lines that shouldn’t be touched. It’s your wish to seal that power, so I’ll respect it... However, this is just a way to quench thirst with poison, merely delaying death...”

”Moreover, if even my mentor has made no progress after years of research, how could there be a huge breakthrough just because of the data from you?” Qiu Yexuan pulled the corners of her mouth into a somewhat eerie smile, ”My mentor once said, this power is terrifying, and if the opportunity is right to control it, the future potential is unlimited, and spiritual and physical ability’s 3S is far from the limit...”

”3S... isn’t the limit?” Zhu Mengtong felt that everything she encountered today really exceeded her previous imagination. If 3S isn’t the limit, then where is the limit of that power? And what is it? Has anyone ever reached it?

She voiced the doubts in her heart, Qiu Yexuan thought for a moment, then casually opened the small box on the round platform. Zhu Mengtong found that it contained not any valuable items, but a yellowed photo album and a faded epaulet stained with black blood clots.

”This person is the evidence...” Qiu Yexuan opened the album, revealing a well-preserved photo. In this Future Interstellar where everything was replaced by virtual screens and high technology, such physical photos were rare.

Zhu Mengtong leaned over to take a look and found that the photo featured a girl with an extraordinarily young and even childlike appearance.

Dressed in a deep blue tight suit, overlaid with a standard-issue bulletproof vest from the Military Department, with two energy cartridge boxes and a small weapon pouch hanging from her waist, several unfamiliar weapons hanging from her shoulders, and numerous military supplies strapped to her thighs and calves. A pair of brown infrared scanning goggles rested on her forehead, which, if not looked at closely, could be mistaken for waterproof glasses...

The girl’s appearance was very delicate, with her brows carrying strong heroic spirit, and her clean and neat demeanor was instantly likable. For some reason, while looking at this photo, Zhu Mengtong felt that the girl looked somewhat familiar... as if she had seen her somewhere before.

The girl was sitting on the mechanical arm of a pale blue Mecha, her legs crossed on the ground, a bright smile on her face like sunshine, making the blue sky in the photo even more vivid. Beside the girl, there was a similarly dressed young man, arms crossed with a reluctant expression on his face, but his gaze secretly fixing on the girl, eyes filled with obvious youthful affection.

Besides these two, there was a thin-looking brown-haired girl who seemed to be older than the other two, but with heavy dark circles under her eyes and a pale green face, as if she hadn’t slept for several days...

”This is my mentor. She said this person...” Qiu Yexuan first pointed at the slightly older brown-haired girl, then at the first girl, ”is the person who possesses that power, incredibly strong. My mentor said she later became a Lieutenant General of the Alliance, but eventually defected and was treacherously killed...”
