Cultivation is just so scientific!

Chapter 146: Chapter 119 Spiritual Thought (Seeking Recommendations, Seeking Monthly Votes!)_2

After completing the practice of “Ice Heart Jade Thought Technique” with his avatar, Li Shiming prepared for the cultivation of “Ice Heart Jade Thought Technique” with his original body.

Soul Stabilizing Incense was lit, and he inhaled the fragrance forcefully, not wanting to waste a single bit.

With the experience of cultivating through an avatar, cultivating with his original body was extremely proficient, focusing all his spirit.

His spirit turned into a jade sword emitting a cold air, and he was surprised to find that the jade sword formed by his spirit seemed to be larger than that formed by his avatar, with many more intricate runes visible even under microscopic examination.

“Could this be related to the fusion of two souls?” he speculated in his heart.

Besides this reason, he could not think of any other areas where his original body was superior to Baili Jin Yan.

Not that he was denying himself, he had three spirit root seeds, and although the Metal Spirit Root among them unusually reached 81, it didn’t change the fact that he had three spirit root seeds.

While Baili Jin Yan had a Heavenly Spirit Root with a Metal Spirit Root value of 100, he had been nurtured with countless precious Spiritual Objects from childhood, his soul and body far surpassing others.

Thinking that a powerful soul made it more probable to cultivate “Ice Heart Jade Thought Technique,” Li Shiming felt slightly relieved as the Jade Sword targeted the invisible cosmic restrictive barrier at the forehead of his brain.

With a “boom,” he felt dizzy, the world seeming to spin around him, and his Jade Sword was blocked by an invisible barrier.

Li Shiming opened his mouth wide, breathing heavily, as the recent cultivation of “Ice Heart Jade Thought Technique” had nearly cost him his life.

When the first “Ice Heart Jade Thought Technique” generated Spiritual Jade Sword impacted the cosmic restrictive barrier at the forehead, he had been strongly repelled.

However, “Ice Heart Jade Thought Technique” required repeated impacts, like a water-grinding effort; a one-time success was just a special case with the avatar.

In the following period, he repeatedly used the Spiritual Jade Sword to strike the cosmic restrictive barrier at his forehead.

He thought the process of his first cultivation of “Ice Heart Jade Thought Technique” would end amidst these collisions and repulsions.

Yet during the last attempt he prepared before ending the session, when the Spiritual Jade Sword collided with the cosmic restrictive barrier, he heard a familiar cracking sound.

“I am not a rotten wood!” Li Shiming laughed loudly.

At this moment, he felt very good about himself, as the newly formed Spiritual Thought extended from his body, experiencing a new world.

Just like having developed a new set of sensory organs, the newly formed Spiritual Thought had eyes, ears, skin, and other sensory functions of the body.

He could see the scene of various properties of Spiritual Power Patterns dancing in the underground space and feel the spirit fish jumping, with the droplets from the Spiritual Spring leaving a trail of spiritual marks in the air.

In the outside world, his Spiritual Thought had a clearer sensation; this world was richer than what the eyes could see.

Even though he had sensed Spiritual Thought through the avatar in the controlled room space, there was still a significant difference; the controlled room space was just too pristine.

He was like a child with a new toy, continuously exploring everything in the underground space with his Spiritual Thought.

He discovered that the Spiritual Thought of his original body was much stronger than that of his avatar, both in intensity and the distance it could extend.

He didn’t know if this meant that his Spiritual Thought was stronger than Baili Jin Yan’s in the past since he couldn’t determine how much of Baili Jin Yan’s Spiritual Thought the avatar had inherited.

But this also gave him more confidence; at least in the aspect of Spiritual Thought, he was not inferior to these incredibly talented celestial second generations, and perhaps even stronger.

Spiritual Thought has many uses; “Ice Heart Jade Thought Technique” is just one Cultivation Technique for refining Spiritual Thought, which, apart from strengthening Spiritual Thought, allows it to be used as a Spiritual Thought Jade Sword to attack an enemy’s soul.

The more specific uses of Spiritual Thought would require him to explore on his own.

Just like with formations, when Li Shiming observed the formation with Spiritual Thought, he perceived it clearer and more detailed than with his five senses.

In his view, Spiritual Thought should be considered a sixth sense beyond the five senses, with nothing in common with the psychological concept of the sixth sense mentioned in his previous life.

This sixth sense is like having a sixth sensory organ, possessing all the functions of the five senses but more liberating, allowing free exploration within thirty meters outside the body.

Li Shiming thought of Spiritual Thought as the sixth sense organ, and a spark of inspiration arose in his mind.

He used his eyelids to open the Linux desktop on the IBMz15 and then added Spiritual Thought as a new scanning, displaying, and receiving device apart from the five senses.

Just as he had thought, the IBMz15 connected mysteriously with his Spiritual Thought, providing it another channel to interact with the external world.

Most crucially, for the first time through Spiritual Thought, the IBMz15 truly scanned Spiritual Power Pattern.

Previously, to the IBMz15, Spiritual Power Pattern was abstract, a conceptual thing.

Even though Li Shiming knew that Spiritual Power Pattern existed and could use techniques like Devil’s Sound in the Ear (Fake) by speaking while integrating the Spiritual Power Pattern within him.

But none of these allowed IBMz15 to truly access Spiritual Power Pattern; everything had to be achieved through Li Shiming.

Now the situation had changed, the IBMz15 scanned the Spiritual Power Pattern through Spiritual Thought.

This was extremely significant for both the IBMz15 and Li Shiming.

From this moment on, IBMz15 could participate in many tasks it previously couldn’t.

For instance, in the study of Formations, the IBMz15 had merely served as an auxiliary calculation tool before, capable of completing complicated calculations effortlessly in a short time.

Yet, once it had collected sufficient scan data of Spiritual Power Pattern, IBMz15 could simulate the operation of the Array inside the servers based on the tasks Li Shiming assigned and experiment with various Formation effects, even creating new Formations.

Once IBMz15 succeeded in its research, it would then upload into Li Shiming’s brain through memory, allowing him to learn in a similarly short time.

This effectively accelerated Li Shiming’s work in studying Formations; regardless of the amount of Formation knowledge, all could be researched by the IBMz15, allowing him to simply enjoy the results of the research.

Of course, the prerequisite was still that Li Shiming first had to experiment with various Formation runes in reality and have IBMz15 scan the data; just this task alone required him to invest vast amounts of time and energy, along with many Spirit Stones.

However, it was all worth it, as IBMz15 excelled particularly in analysis and computation, and the study of Formations required exactly these abilities.

Succeeding in cultivating Spiritual Thought, Li Shiming had finally accomplished his first planned goal.

He took out the relic given to him by Old Monk Du Yuan. After returning to the sect, he inquired about the relic.

The most concrete answer came from Yin Shilan; prolonged contact with the relic was advisable at the Foundation Establishment Stage, otherwise, the relic would subtly influence the cultivator’s body and mind.

For the Buddhist, this subtle influence was beneficial as it could enhance their cultivation of Buddhist teachings.

However, for other cultivators, this was not good news, as having one who practiced Buddhist teachings among those of the Taoist sect like the Heavenly Sea Sect was definitely not favorable.

The reason one could resist the influence of the relic after reaching the Foundation Establishment Stage was because the defense against external spiritual influences had significantly multiplied after acquiring Spiritual Thought.

In the twenty days since his return, he had eaten spirit fish each day, and he never neglected his practice of the Vajra Body Protection Divine Skill.

He grasped the relic in his hand, feeling its interior.

Seemingly sensing the presence of Vajra power, a faint vibration emanated from the relic, and a pale golden Buddhist Seal wrapped around the Vajra power infused into the skin of his palm.

This Vajra power was very feeble, but its quality far surpassed that of his own Vajra power.

Transforming into a golden light, the Buddhist Seal surged towards his brain, only to be blocked by a wave of Spiritual Thought as it neared the brain.

This wasn’t an action initiated actively by Li Shiming but rather an autonomous defense of Spiritual Thought against any spiritual attacks targeted at the brain.

Even if the Buddhist touted the harmlessness of their teachings, Spiritual Thought didn’t recognize that claim; any alien spiritual vibrations were blocked outside.

Li Shiming now understood what this relic was all about; wearing the relic, originally from a high monk who had mastered the Vajra Body Protection Divine Skill continuously, would allow high-quality Vajra power to seep into his body unceasingly.

This greatly accelerated the enhancement of the Vajra Body Protection Divine Skill, while the Buddhist Seal would also continuously erode his spirit.
