Cultivation is just so scientific!

Chapter 112 – 102: Doppelganger_2

After Li Shiming’s thoughts became clear, he understood the whole sequence of events and knew what was going on with himself.

His consciousness had transferred to the corpse, and he carefully examined this body, which was indeed the corpse of Baili Jin Yan.

The remaining Corpse Liquid also indicated this.

“Has the transformation succeeded?” Li Shiming asked, somewhat hesitantly and perplexed.

Life-bound Corpse Refinement, although closely connected to its master, was not supposed to be this intimately linked; this was not just any Corpse Refining, it was practically another body altogether.

“Not right!” He discovered another anomaly. Discover hidden stories at Novgo

It wasn’t his first encounter with Corpse Refining; this body’s skin hadn’t darkened as normally happens with corpses, and he had never heard of a corpse possessing a Spiritual Energy Vortex either.

The greatest strength of a refined corpse lay in its physique and power, and the Yin Cold Spiritual Power was integrated with the corpse’s body, without the presence of a Spiritual Energy Vortex.

It could be said that any part of a refined corpse’s body was a place for storing Spiritual Power; the Yin Cold Spiritual Power enhanced the corpse’s body, endowing it with formidable defensive power and strength.

However, this corpse was too peculiar and completely different from the descriptions in the “Xuanming Corpse Refining Chapter.”

He had used the Life-bound Corpse Refining method from the “Xuanming Corpse Refining Chapter,” so why was there such a significant difference?

But before finding the answer, he wondered how he would return to his own body?

As Li Shiming thought about returning to his own body, his vision blurred, and he once again returned to his own perspective.

His heartbeat suddenly accelerated; the changes were too astonishing, rendering him somewhat unable to calm down momentarily.

His brain connected to the IBMz15, starting to inquire about what had occurred in the server room during his period of sleep.

The sensors connected to the IBMz15 could monitor events in the server room, originally intended to monitor the room’s temperature, humidity, and lighting.

While planting Spirit Plants in the server room space, he had also enhanced the sensors with visual monitoring capabilities.

With no need to conserve power anymore, the IBMz15 stored the monitoring content on a hard drive.

Li Shiming saw the convulsions of Baili Jin Yan and various signs of life, and he couldn’t help but inhale sharply.

If Baili Jin Yan truly woke up in the server room and was capable of moving, then his biggest secret would have been exposed.

The key issue was, if the IBMz15 were damaged, his greatest advantage in this world would be destroyed.

A strong sense of fear rose from his heart, and he couldn’t help but blame himself for his carelessness.

At the same time, he knew that this world could not be explained by technology alone; the IBMz15 detected death, but the Cultivation World had methods to deceive such detection.

After seeing the process of Baili Jin Yan being transformed by the Corpse Liquid, he understood that everything should have occurred due to changes within Baili Jin Yan’s body.

Regrettably, the IBMz15 couldn’t monitor the changes inside Baili Jin Yan’s body, preventing him from knowing exactly what happened.

Li Shiming saved this video data in a special folder; although unsure whether this process could be replicated, this discovery was undoubtedly extremely important.

Because he had indeed created something akin to a clone, and it was a clone that possessed the capabilities of late-stage Qi Refinement.

After numerous experiments, Li Shiming mastered how to switch control between his main body and the clone.

He then began experiments on the clone, starting with the Life-bound Corpse Refinement, to see if the clone indeed possessed the capabilities of a Life-bound refined corpse.

There was no need to test for strength; this clone could simply create an air burst in his hand with a gentle squeeze.

He transferred his consciousness into the clone, and after an instantaneous switch in perspective, he found himself in the server room space.

In this state, he discovered that his consciousness could still leave the body and observe the server room from a god-like perspective.

He scanned his whole body with his consciousness carefully and soon discovered something special about this body.

While examining the Spiritual Energy Vortex, he noticed a ring of black material enveloping the Spiritual Energy Vortex.

His consciousness acted upon the black matter, and the black matter suddenly contracted, transforming the golden dense spiritual energy within the Spiritual Energy Vortex into black dense spiritual energy.

As the Spiritual Energy Vortex turned black, his body also transformed into a bronze color.

In this state, his body had completely transformed into a copper corpse, and it was more powerful than his other copper corpse.

Li Shiming watched as his double turned into a copper corpse. Although this state greatly enhanced his defensive power, he could no longer consider it a normal human in its form.

In this state, his control over the copper corpse double did not diminish; he could manipulate it as easily as he controlled his own body.

He tried to move, and like a ghost, he created several afterimages in the space of the machine room, a result of his extremely swift movements.

After feeling it out, in this state, both his defensive power and strength had greatly increased.

Most terrifying was that he still could wield spiritual power, albeit as black, Yin Cold Spiritual Power.

This type of Yin Cold Spiritual Power possessed extremely strong corrosive and poisonous properties, and since it was controllable spiritual power, he could expel this power from his body and launch long-range attacks.

Of course, he had not yet attempted to cast spells using the Yin Cold Spiritual Power, mainly because he dared not experiment in the machine room; every item there was too precious to him.

The copper corpse double should be considered an enhanced form of his double, with its defensive and strength capabilities almost doubled. It must be noted that the original defensive power and strength of his double were extremely formidable.

Li Shiming’s consciousness returned to the Spiritual Energy Vortex, and he tried to remove the black matter from the vortex.

The black matter obediently left the Spiritual Energy Vortex, which then changed back to its original golden color.

In the state of being a double, this body functioned just as a normal cultivator.

Regrettably, without the original Cultivation Method, he could not manipulate his double to cultivate, but from what he could discern from the body, the ability to cast spells and everything else was no different from a normal cultivator.

The double had three modes of control: the first was to transfer his consciousness into the double for full control, which left his original body without conscious control.

In this situation, the original body was extremely vulnerable, and he would not do this unless his original body was in a very safe situation.

The second mode was like normal Corpse Refining; he would split part of his consciousness to control it. Without the ability to multitask in this condition, it was almost no different from the first situation.

The third was to issue simple commands, and the double would autonomously launch attacks.

After experimenting, he found that in this form, the double could only engage in close combat attacks with its body like a normal refined corpse, despite having a Spiritual Energy Vortex; the double would not utilize it.

The spirit within the double’s body was indeed the spirit of Life-bound Corpse Refinement; at least at the current stage, it could not elevate its wisdom to actively use specific Cultivation Techniques or spells.

However, Li Shiming quickly set these concerns aside, realizing he was overthinking it.

For the foreseeable future, this double could only stay in the machine room space, unable to appear in the outside world.

Li Shiming reminded himself to act normally during the upcoming period, to avoid arousing any suspicion.

Of course, it would not be easy for others to suspect him; no one would believe that Baili Jin Yan had been killed by him.

He returned to his cave dwelling and started to fiddle with the low-level Array materials.

He needed to hide the monitoring probes with an Array, even if he just wanted to set them up for surveillance.

This was not the ordinary world; the eyes of cultivators were extremely keen, and the peculiar shape of the monitoring probes, though mundane, were easily noticeable to cultivators.

From the Array materials, he chose five blank Array flags and dipped the talisman pen in ink specially used for Arrays, beginning to draw on the blank Array flags.

This may seem similar to making a talisman, but essentially, it was completely different.

Talismans involved the solidification of a spell casting process onto talisman paper, whereas Array flags involved drawing Array Diagrams representing different effects onto blank Array flags.

While making talismans required the aid of true intent of spells, Array flags only needed the cooperation of spiritual power.

Although Array flags seemed simpler, it should be noted that these were just the most basic low-level Array components, only suitable for beginners’ practice.

The five blank Array flags were each drawn with Array Diagrams representing the five elements of metal, wood, water, fire, and earth, completing the initial preparations.
