Apocalypse Gachapon

Chapter 2294: Battle (3)

The sea beast legion had several main forces, such as the Naga Battle Mage Legion, the Long Void Corps, the Arrow-Solo Star Unit, and so on.

Cloud Peak also had particularly outstanding units, such as Little Tigerʼs cavalry, the Cloud Peak Air Force, and the War Beast Legion.

For both sides, these main forces meant combat support, sources of confidence, and strategic focal points.

If anything happened to these main forces, the blow to either side would be enormous.

As a top-tier evolver, Little Tiger naturally possessed target-tracking abilities, but the Demon Whale was too unique—he could not pinpoint it precisely.

However, while using Linglan Borrowed Soldiers, the shared origin of the ability allowed Little Tiger to sense where the Demon Whale was vaguely.

But he was not certain, so he planned to use his battalion to lure this formidable existence out.

The main battalion was indeed important, but the Demon Whale was like Cloud Peakʼs Ye Zhongming—a true pillar. If the Demon Whale died, this land-sea conflict would be over.

Xia Lei hesitated for a moment.

She understood Little Tigerʼs intent: once the cavalry charged, they would inevitably smash through the enemy lines. But that would bring them to the coast, and if the Demon Whale appeared then, the cavalry would suffer devastating losses.
Perhaps half the battalion would be wiped out, and even Little Tiger could be in danger.

Was it worth it?

”Sister Lei, if the Demon Whale doesnʼt show up, weʼll have several top-tier lifeforms tied down, which puts us at a major disadvantage. Look—even though theyʼve committed two main legions, thatʼs all it is for now. Theyʼre using numbers to drain our firepower and skills. Once our ranged firepower weakens and our skills go on cooldown, theyʼll launch sustained, fierce attacks.”

”By then, I donʼt know if we can hold, and even if we do, I donʼt know how many will die.”

Little Tiger moved his body, recovering from the strain of using Linglan Borrowed Soldiers.

Xia Lei did not answer immediately. After observing the battlefield for a while, she agreed to the proposal.

One by one, orders were relayed, and Cloud Peak made the necessary preparations for this decision.

A key factor that pushed Xia Lei to decide was that the Five Ring Money Battalionʼs battle against the Naga Battle Mage Legion had gone unexpectedly smoothly.

The Five Ring Moneyʼs unified-job approach had proven highly effective. Their ranged units were fast and accurate, their melee units were orderly and disciplined, and even the two nine-star stewards coordinated well with those around them.

Deacon Water had withdrawn to the center of the formation, working with Deacon Tong to use their abilities to tie down the four peer-level opponents, barely holding the situation together with their subordinatesʼ help.

Without top-tier intervention, the combat of other lifeforms better reflected overall quality.

The Naga Battle Mage Legionʼs well-structured, self-contained system, with its combined ranged-and-melee, same-blood combat style, had made them invincible and unstoppable.

But the Five Ring Money Battalion was now the same way. The Nagasʼ only advantages were their two extra top-tier lifeforms and their total advantage of fifteen thousand more troops.

Unfortunately, luck was not on their side.

The Five Ring Money had a huge lead in equipment—not just the masks Ye Zhongming had sent back, but their own gear as well.

The Five Ring Moneyʼs former wealth was still substantial.

The micro-carved bullets and Thunderbolt Chariots from Cloud Peakʼs Technology Department, along with all the other weapons Cloud Peak had fielded, were beyond the sea beastsʼ reach. The Five Ring Money also had the latest models of magic crystal cannons and guns.

All of these translated into combat power for each member.

”As the saying goes, donʼt take on a porcelain job without the right tools”—that old Chinese saying held true.

Deacon Tong had taken on the task of confronting the Naga Battle Mage Legion not only because she wanted the Five Ring Money to become a Cloud Peak main force, but also because she genuinely felt her battalion could handle them—of course, with some help to offset the gap in top-tier numbers.

In fact, the help she received was far more than expected.

Besides Li Qiangʼs long-range units and magic crystal artillery focusing on the Naga Battle Mage Legion, Little Tigerʼs Linglan Borrowed Soldiers had also dealt the Nagas a heavy blow, killing Nagas in several areas—targeting the physically weaker females, causing them significant casualties.

With less pressure from ranged attacks, not only could the Five Ring Moneyʼs ranged units suppress the enemy, but Cloud Peakʼs air force also began to focus their attacks here.

Under these multiple advantages, the Five Ring Money Battalion advanced step by step, driving the Naga Battle Mage Legion backward.

The two nine-star male Naga warriors could only struggle to hold the line from collapsing entirely.

One of the sea beastsʼ main legions was being rapidly depleted, drawing reinforcements from elsewhere and throwing the entire sea beast line into chaos.

An opportunity arose. The Ah Tao Battalion—the Posthumous People Battalion—which had received word, opened a gap, and Little Tigerʼs cavalry drove into the enemy formation like a blade.

If the Glory Armyʼs heavy infantry could push the sea beasts back, then the cavalry—both man and beast clad in heavy armor—were even more devastating. Under Little Tigerʼs lead, they smashed through the sea beast defense lines like a hot knife through butter.

With the flood of cavalry, the gap widened. By the time the Posthumous People Battalion withdrew for rest, the cavalry had virtually wiped out the sea beasts they had been engaging.

Little Tiger, at the very front, kept the cavalryʼs advance direction under control. Seeing they were about to break through, he steered his war beast in an arc along the coastline, continuing to charge and kill more sea beasts.

The cavalryʼs momentum was terrifying. In less than twenty minutes of combat, Little Tigerʼs battalion had killed more sea beasts than several other battalions combined. Xia Lei also ordered Cloud Peakʼs rear long-range units to fire at full intensity, suppressing any sea beasts within range without sparing ammunition.

For a time, the human forces gained a clear upper hand.

But every Cloud Peak high-level knew this was temporary. The sea beasts were too numerous; the humansʼ burst of power could not be sustained until every sea beast was dead.

Once that offensive momentum waned, the sea beasts would counterattack.

However, in that brief window, the sea beastsʼ casualties had been heavy. They had even allowed some top-tier lifeforms to be put on the defensive, and one careless move could result in their deaths—an irreparable loss.

Xia Lei, Little Tiger, and the command staff, who all understood why Cloud Peak was doing this, waited.

Near the sea surface in the direction Little Tigerʼs battalion was advancing, a whirlpool formed at astonishing speed. Its formation seemed to be linked to the cavalryʼs movement—the closer they came, the faster it spun.

At the closest point, a colossal water column erupted from the whirlpool, its spray seeming to shroud the entire battlefield.

Within the spray, an immense shadow hurtled toward the human cavalry, radiating terrifying pressure!

Facing the imminent danger, Little Tiger grinned.

”Sister Bai, itʼs all yours!”

The cavalry executed a sharp turn, beginning to disengage from the battlefield.

Behind them, a giant black scythe shadow, as if tearing through time and space, slashed toward the Demon Whale, which was revealing its true form for the first time today!
