Apocalypse Gachapon

Chapter 2292: Battle

”Thereʼs nothing to tell them. Let them hold the line as best they can, donʼt advance recklessly, and just protect our flanks.”

When it came to real combat, Xia Lei had no concern for the alliesʼ sensibilities.

The Glory Army and the Resistance Zone were strong, yes, but the Black Heart Queen did not think they would play a decisive role in this war.

If they could, they would not be living under Cloud Peakʼs shadow. If they could, they would not have already deployed war fortresses—weapons of such magnitude.

”Let Gan Lan and Meinaʼs battalions withdraw for rest. My battalion will replace them.”

Guangyao, who had been observing the battlefield, suddenly spoke. Xia Lei looked and nodded.

”Be careful. Although the Long Void Corpsʼ overall evolution level is not high, they are too numerous, and their abilities are strange and troublesome. After you go in, try to kill a wave, then let another unit relieve you.”

Xia Lei said this because the mutated lifeforms in the Long Void Corps were extremely annoying. During battle, they continuously sprayed toxic mist from the whiskers behind their heads, at their gills, and on both sides of their tails. Inhaling the mist poisoned you; even if you did not inhale it, it corroded exposed skin and equipment.

Even eight-star evolved and gold-grade equipment were affected.

The effect naturally weakened with higher levels, but if you did nothing about it, it would persist, tirelessly and persistently corroding you.
So after fighting the Long Void Corps for a while, you had to withdraw for ”decontamination.”

Gan Lan and Meinaʼs battalions could not hold out long—only about ten minutes before they had to pull back. After all, their battalionsʼ equipment and overall strength were somewhat inferior; any longer and their combat power would have started to decline.

Guangyao nodded.

In this land-sea conflict, Guangyaoʼs battalion had an extremely strong desire for battle.

They had split off from the former Resistance Zone, and from beginning to end, they had been just like Cloud Peakʼs other battalions. Now they were a main force, and Guangyao himself was second only to Xia Lei in Cloud Peakʼs hierarchy.

But the battalionʼs core was still formed from former Resistance Zone troops, and many of them were old acquaintances with the Resistance Zone people. Now that Guangyaoʼs battalion had higher levels, better equipment, and greater fame, they wanted to show off in front of these old acquaintances.

When you part ways, you want to live better than them—this was not just a vow in the hearts of those ending relationships.

The Resistance Zone people did not want to be looked down upon, and Guangyaoʼs people did not want to disappoint.

”Li Qiang, give us the first wave of support to cover our entry!”

Guangyao was not like those subordinates, who were itching to prove themselves—he calmly gave orders.

Li Qiang acknowledged the command, but his unit did not move. It was not until Gan Lan and Meinaʼs battalions had retreated to the edge of Guangyaoʼs sector that a single synchronized volley of gunfire thundered across the sky.

Countless bullets struck the front ranks of the Long Void Corps

A spectacular sight unfolded: with each nearly indistinguishable gunshot, a row of Long Void Corps lifeforms fell. After five such volleys, Meina and Gan Lanʼs battalions had withdrawn safely, and Guangyaoʼs battalion had slanted in from the side, now standing face-to-face with the enemy.

Li Qiang raised his head, but his finger on the trigger did not loosen. Under his command, the long-range units had used the terrain to precisely seize the moment—neither harming their own forces nor missing the opportunity to deal the Long Void Corps a heavy blow, achieving significant results.

Every attack taking an enemy life—that was the long-range unitsʼ unwavering goal. They might never fully achieve it, but they would keep striving.

Guangyao raised his right hand high and gave Li Qiang a thumbs-up toward the rear position.

Everyone was constantly improving, never complacent about their levels or strength—that was what Guangyao admired most about Cloud Peak.

It meant that once Cloud Peak became number one, other forces virtually had no chance to catch up.

Along with the downward motion of his right hand came over two hundred massive steel tanks.

These were the fruit of Guangyaoʼs years of hard work. The ability ”Chain-Cutting Tanks” had been brought to its greatest potential under his command.

As soon as these camouflaged tanks appeared, large metal discs with sharp spikes on top shot out like scythes of death, slicing into the dense formation of the Long Void Corps.

The enormous metal discs reaped sea beast lives wantonly, carving two hundred long strips of vacuum into the enemy ranks.

Then, pulled back by chains, the discs arced through the air and returned, cutting down roughly the same number of enemies on the way back.

Throughout this, the Long Void Corps had not been idle—many powerful beings among them had either tried to meet the attack head-on or cleverly counterattacked. But the results were poor; most ended up dismembered.

The ability of a nine-star evolver who had methodically built up their power was something even peer-level lifeforms had to steer clear of.

The metal discs flew back and settled atop the massive tanks, looking as if they had never moved—except for the blood and flesh still clinging to them.

At the same time, a hatch opened on each tankʼs front hull, about the size of a common brick, split into three sections.

The moment the discs returned, the hatches began spitting out smaller discs—without chains, but faster and more agile than their larger counterparts.

These smaller discs arced through the air in all sorts of trajectories, instantly penetrating the already chaotic Long Void Corps.

Each tank fired three discs per volley, launching ten volleys in rapid succession.

Six hundred cutting discs wreaked havoc until they were shot down one by one.

”Attack!”

Guangyao gave the order. His tanks vanished, and his battalion stormed into the battlefield like tigers released from their cages.

This was a land-sea conflict—no mercy, no tricks. Just a straightforward clash of arms.

Lose, and you retreat far away. Win, and you become master of the world.

It was the same on other fronts. After the long-range exchanges, both sides collided with brutal force.
