Apocalypse Gachapon

Chapter 2281: Bronze Mask

After hearing this, everyone felt quite satisfied, yet still a bit unclear—they did not know just how extreme ”ultimate accuracy,” ”ultimate speed,” and ”ultimate power” could truly be.

”Old Le, youʼre all talk. Talk is cheap—give us a test, letʼs try it out.” Little Tiger came over, threw an arm around Le Dayuan, shook him slightly, and pointed at the three Loki Crosses, demanding a trial shot.

Some Cloud Peak people watching laughed—not at Little Tigerʼs somewhat disrespectful gesture, but because Little Tiger, who usually seemed so brash, was actually quite thoughtful.

The angle at which he held Le Dayuan placed himself squarely between Cloud Peakʼs master engineer and the Resistance Zone and Glory Army personnel, forcing anyone who wanted to do anything to get past Little Tiger first—his wariness was plain to see.

Cloud Peak people understood and smiled. The Resistance Zone and Glory Army naturally understood too, but they were quite irritated.

Would they actually attack Le Dayuan? Obviously not! What motive or benefit would they have for doing so? Even if they could kill him—which they could not—what would happen to them? They would be obliterated by Cloud Peakʼs experts in an instant, and then the Resistance Zone and Glory Army would be destroyed within days.

What would they gain?!

Cloud Peak people had not taken excessive precautions before precisely because these outsiders had no motive to act.

But Little Tiger did not care about that. He was one of the earliest followers of Ye Zhongming, and he knew well how much Le Dayuan meant to Ye Zhongming. Back then, for Le Dayuanʼs sake, Ye Zhongming had truly fought tooth and nail against that formidable Pig-Raising General.

So he did not care whether others had any such thoughts—if he thought of it, he did it.
Le Dayuan slapped Little Tigerʼs hand off his shoulder and scolded with a laugh, ”Youʼre a father now—act more mature.”

With that, Le Dayuan looked at the others and said, ”I tested the equipment twice back at Cloud Peak, and it should be fine. We wonʼt test it here—weʼll just use it directly in combat.”

This... the others exchanged glances, unsure what Le Dayuan meant.

Only tested at Cloud Peak? Only twice? Not tested here?

It sounded a bit ridiculous. If it had been anyone other than Le Dayuan saying this, the others would have objected long ago.

Cloud Peak had its environment, and here had its own environment. At Cloud Peak, were the test subjects the same as here? Moreover, for a weapon incorporating such high-level technology and complex craftsmanship, what could two tests accomplish? Even basic data collection would be incomplete!

”Thereʼs no help for it,” Le Dayuan pointed at the three weapons. ”Itʼs too expensive.”

After that, he said nothing more, and no one else spoke.

Ah Lang and the Glory Armyʼs Third Army commander did not understand why two words—”too expensive”—had dismissed everyone.

Expensive? Was Cloud Peak short of money? If Cloud Peak was short of money, then what were they? Poor? Beggars?

What they did not know was that when a Technology Department head who normally consumed half of Cloud Peakʼs funds said something was expensive, it truly was expensive...

The matter of test-firing the weapons was no longer discussed. Ah Lang and the Glory Army people could only swallow their curiosity.

Le Dayuan then began introducing the other items he had brought.

”Improved micro-carved bullets. Li Qiang tested them with me before. Although the effect is slightly reduced compared to before, the manufacturing difficulty and cost have come down. Now all long-range units are equipped with them, with a total of about seven million rounds—should be enough to provide sufficient long-range firepower when needed, reducing casualties.”

At Cloud Peak, everything had one important goal: reducing casualties. So much so that many non-Cloud Peak people would say sourly that Cloud Peakʼs soldiers were very valuable.

”I also improved these... Thunderbolt Chariots?” Le Dayuan said with a smile. ”The old movable heavy firepower points.”

”Now they can use not only micro-carved bullets but also another energy system—the Moonspan Gold system.”

Le Dayuan had installed the Moonspan Gold system he had developed on the Loki Crosses. After spending some time simplifying and miniaturizing it, he applied it to the equipment that everyone jokingly called Thunderbolt Chariots.

”When using micro-carved bullets and regular bullets, the control method remains the same as before—two modes: fully automatic and semi-automatic. You all know which mode to use in which situation, so I wonʼt go into detail. As for the Moonspan Gold mode, this requires manual operation by someone at least six-star evolution level or above. There are two activation methods: the first is single-shot, with a firing rate of once every two seconds; a full charge can fire for about ten minutes. The second is continuous fire, which requires a lot of strength to control—youʼll get familiar with it on the battlefield; three minutesʼ duration.”

”How many of these are there? Can they be distributed to each battalion?”

Xia Lei asked after hearing him out.

Previously, these firing chariots had been issued to battalions, but later they were taken back.

”Two thousand in total. Give ten to each battalion first. The rest will go to Li Qiangʼs side. Oh, and each battalion can also take one hundred thousand micro-carved bullets—coordinate the elemental attributes with Li Qiang yourselves.”

With the Loki Crosses, the micro-carved bullets, and the Thunderbolt Chariots, everyoneʼs confidence suddenly grew significantly.

The Loki Crosses were clearly meant for the Demon Whale. Although they had not been test-fired, since they had been brought out, they should be effective.

As for the micro-carved bullets and Thunderbolt Chariots, they were undoubtedly lethal tools against the sea beasts. Strong firepower combined with great power would naturally provide ample support during battle, effectively killing large numbers of sea beasts—a significance that was extraordinary both strategically and tactically.

However, while these things gave Cloud Peakʼs people confidence, what truly made them decide on a decisive battle was the last item Le Dayuan brought out.

”Bronze masks?”

At first, everyone thought it was some kind of super weapon. When Le Dayuan brought it out, they could not help but feel disappointed.

”One of the standard equipment pieces for the Red Female Guard now, you know.”

That one sentence not only made everyone take back their earlier thoughts but also turned their gazes fervent.

That was the status the Red Female Guard held in the eyes of all Cloud Peak members.

Even though these people were all big shots in the eyes of evolvers across the national region.

”Zhongming sent down the technology through a special separate communication—very detailed. He said it was something he learned from that race up in the sky. After overcoming some technical difficulties, our Technology Department successfully manufactured it not long ago.”

”Getting started is the hardest part. After the first success, things became simpler, so we went all in and produced a total of one thousand high-grade bronze masks and fifty thousand regular bronze masks.”

”After the Red Female Guard took their share of the one thousand high-grade bronze masks, the remaining ones were distributed a bit to each battalion—just a dozen or so per battalion. But donʼt divide the fifty thousand regular masks—give them all to a single battalion.”

As soon as he finished speaking, Le Dayuan felt like he had kicked a hornetʼs nest.
