The Incubus System Chapter 857. I Coughed Blood Just Like The Young Master in The Wuxia Story!

Hovering in the air, my wings beat with a rhythmic pulse, creating gusts that scattered dust and leaves in all directions. The branches of nearby trees swayed in acknowledgment of my demonic presence. My gaze fixated on Nathan and his companions. I raised my hands in a commanding gesture.

”Telekinesis,” I uttered in a voice that cut through the air like an icy wind. My eyes bore into theirs, the coldness matching the tone of my voice.

Hovering in mid-air, I cast a menacing gaze upon Nathan and his team, the air tingling with an otherworldly presence.

My voice, laced with threat and displeasure, cut through the tension like a blade. ”You are lucky since your friends came sooner than I expected, demon hunter,” I stated, the words carrying the weight of a demon lord’s authority.

Larry, undeterred, retorted in a firm tone, ”Do you think I’m afraid of you?!” His swift recovery demonstrated a resilience that countered the fear that should have accompanied facing a being of my caliber. However, his expression soon shifted to one of sudden realization, panic flashing across his face as if he’d forgotten a crucial detail.

’I forgot I was supposed to get hurt!’ -Larry.

I maintained my menacing demeanor, suppressing a smirk at Larry’s internal realization. It was a comical twist in our orchestrated act. I tilted my head a bit, raising my eyebrows in silent communication with Larry.

’Then pretend you are hurt.’ – Ethan.

Larry, always the improviser, thought for a moment before surprising everyone with a dramatic reaction. He clutched his stomach, grunting in pain, followed by a fit of coughing. He covered his mouth dramatically.

*Cough!* *Cough!* *Cough!*

Pulling away his hand, he inspected it with a shocked expression. ”Oh shit! I coughed blood just like the young master in the wuxia story!” he exclaimed, turning accusingly towards me. ”What have you done to me, demon?” he demanded, pointing at me with feigned anger.

Suppressing both a cringe and a laugh, I struggled to maintain my serious and menacing facade. Larry had turned a potentially intense situation into a comical farce, and I played my part in this act with a mixture of amusement and exasperation. But somehow, it was so painful since I had to look serious and scary while what Larry was doing was clowning around!

’Oh God, please. I’m trying to act like a great villain here! Stop trying to make me laugh!’ I cried out internally. Seriously, why do I feel like my intelligence drops to zero when I’m with him?

He turned his gaze to me, a triumphant glint in his eyes. ”Ah, I get it! You must have used that Telekittenist to hurt me!” he declared loudly.

”Pfft!” I almost laughed, a snort escaping before I could stop it. I quickly covered my mouth to ensure no more escaped, but, of course, that gesture looked just as strange. I shot a quick glance at Nathan and the others, who were now frowning upon my bizarre and erratic behavior.

Awkward...

’Okay, I have to do something,’ I thought. So instead of trying to cover up the strange snort, I decided to fully embrace it. I let out a chuckle that morphed into an evil laugh, allowing my hand to drop dramatically. It wasn’t a genuine laugh, but more of a sinister cackle that showcased my supposed cunning.

With a theatrical flair, I pointed accusingly at Larry, looking down at him with feigned superiority. ”That’s right! You shall experience the pain!” I declared, adding an edgy tone to my voice for dramatic effect.

Larry gritted his teeth, playing along with the charade. His hand remained on his chest, mimicking the aftermath of a powerful blow. ”I won’t lose to your Telekitty, demon!” he declared, injecting a surprising amount of determination into his performance.

I glared at him, desperately trying to hold back my laughter. Honestly, I couldn’t fathom how Nathan and his team managed to maintain their stoic expressions throughout this bizarre performance. Once again, Larry and I exchanged glances, communicating our frustrations as if we were telepathic.

I mentally snapped at Larry, my irritation evident in my imaginary words.

’It’s Telekinesis, dumbass!’ – Ethan.

He frowned, annoyance etching his features.

’It’s not my fault. Stop giving your skills difficult names!’ – Larry mentally retorted.

I shot back, my mental tone betraying my exasperation.

’It’s not me who named the skill!’ – Ethan.

Larry grimaced, and I could practically hear his sarcastic mental commentary.

’That’s pathetic!’ - Larry

Our silent mental banter continued, a comedy of errors unfolding in the midst of what should have been a tense situation. Larry, still feigning pain, shot me a side glance, and it took all my self-control not to burst into laughter at the absurdity of it all.

Nathan and his team, on the other hand, maintained their serious facade, unaware of the mental slapstick comedy happening right in front of them. As we continued our charade, I couldn’t help but wonder how long we could keep up this act before someone cracked.

I gritted my teeth, ready to launch into another argument to correct Larry’s mispronunciation. However, before I could unleash my verbal correction, Larry shot me a reminder through our mental connection.

’Dude, your line. You forgot to mention your line!’ – Larry’s mental nudge hit me like a wake-up call.

’Right, my line,’ I thought. Yet, instead of a witty comeback or a menacing threat, my brain seemed to short-circuit. The absurdity of Larry’s nickname for my Telekinesis skill, the ”Telekitty,” had momentarily paralyzed my ability to conjure a fitting response. I stood there in awkward silence, my mind racing to recover.

’Oh right!’ I finally managed to gather my thoughts.

Suppressing a sigh, I faced Larry with an air of exaggerated menace. ”I will teach you a lesson you will never forget!” I declared, trying to infuse my voice with the edginess one would expect from an antagonist.
