The Incubus System Chapter 852. Hello, Peasants!

I couldn’t help but feel a twinge of dark humor in the situation. Larry had become the center of demonic attention, the newest celebrity host for these parasitic creatures.

The irony of wanting to congratulate him for gaining an unusual fan base struck me, but his panic erased any amusement from the equation.

I knew that the situation demanded my direct involvement. The appearance of yet another demon had complicated the already challenging scenario.

Considering my concealed position behind the bushes with the old ladies, Larry faced the hard task of not only battling demons but also securing the area.

’Well, I guess I’ll have to join the fight,’ I thought. I was bored anyway.

[You have activated you lr demonic form.]

- Snap!

My fingers echoed in the air.

In response, a barrier sprang into existence, forming a dome that enveloped the unconscious old ladies protectively.

In the next instant, utilizing my teleportation skill, I vanished and reappeared in the sky. Suspended in the sky, I surveyed the scene below. My mask covered my face.

With a self-satisfied smirk, I greeted them in a tone laced with arrogance. ”I thought demon hunters had this whole situation under control, but look at me stumbling upon another demon meandering around like it’s a midnight stroll,” I remarked, my words dripping with irony.

Both Larry and the approaching demon shifted their gazes toward me.

I addressed them both. ”Well, well, aren’t we in a pickle? Hello, peasants,” I quipped.

The demon’s eyes widened in panic. He made a desperate attempt to escape. He fragmented into twenty smaller pieces, hoping that at least one could evade my grasp and ensure his regeneration.

However, my response was anything but passive. I calmly extended my hand toward the scattered fragments, fingers outstretched with an air of absolute control. I invoked my Telekinesis.

The demon’s multiple fragments were frozen mid-air, petrified by the invisible force I exerted over them. Each piece hung motionless.

I maintained my watchful gaze, not participating in the physical confrontation. ”What are you waiting for?” I taunted, my voice laced with arrogance. ”Finish him. I don’t want to lay my fingers on that lowly demon.”

Larry moved with determined swiftness, charging at the suspended demon fragments. His fists descended with precision, shattering the petrified pieces.

While he dealt with the demonic threat, I took the opportunity to survey our surroundings, my senses on high alert. I scanned for any signs of lurking demons, ready to intervene if needed. Yet, as my eyes darted around, there were no ominous figures in sight, and the only disturbance was the aftermath of Larry’s decisive victory.

My attention shifted back to him. I found myself only ten meters above the ground, making our eye contact easy.

”I see, you have a new skill, demon hunter,” I remarked, curiosity lacing my words.

He took a moment before responding, ”Yes. I just got this recently. I can say this skill is quite helpful.”

”Congratulations, then,” I replied.

”Yeah, I bet this is the reason why Theo is suddenly nice to me. Sometimes he acts like a kid who sticks to me during practice, and I’m his almighty daddy,” he quipped, adding a touch of humor. ”Can you imagine how stupid it would be if he called me ’Daddy, daddy!’ all the time?” he continued.

Laughter escaped me involuntarily at Larry’s humorous take on Theo’s hypothetical daddy-obsession. Imagining the proud Theo suddenly adopting such a term for Larry felt like a ludicrous scenario.

However, the mirth abruptly dissolved when Larry’s expression shifted from amusement to shock. His gaze bore into me, and I could sense the gears turning in his mind. The realization hit him.

”Theo never mentioned anything about you, Mr. Great Demon. And he also never clashed directly with you,” he pointed out, his tone taking on a more serious note.

His observation, though accurate, wiped the smile off my face. I hadn’t anticipated that his playful banter would become a subtle interrogation, unveiling a part of my identity.

Larry’s eyes narrowed, and a frown etched itself across his face. ”You... You are ’him,’ right? Buddy?” he pressed, seeking confirmation.

Caught off guard, I sighed inwardly. It seemed my attempt at anonymity had crumbled in his face. Yet, I couldn’t bring myself to deny it outright. After all, honesty, in this case, might be the best course of action.
