The Incubus System Chapter 854. Psiu----!

”Ethan-ish?” I quirked an eyebrow, frowning. ”Thatʼs not even a word,” I complained, crossing my arms.

Larry replied with a casual shrug. ”It sounds like a word to me,” he said.

I wanted to argue further, but it was Larry, the guy who had once tried to convince me that mayonnaise and cheese sauce belong on pizza. I decided to spare myself the work. ”Right...” I muttered, conceding defeat in the battle of words.

As if sensing my resignation, Larryʼs mischievous side kicked in, and without hesitation, he snatched the mask off my face.

”Hey!” I protested, my hands instinctively reaching for the stolen accessory.

He held it out of my reach, grinning like a kid who had just discovered a secret candy stash. ”Letʼs see the real face behind the demon lord façade,” he teased, wiggling my mask between his fingers. A second later, his jaw dropped, and his eyes widened as he looked at my unmasked face. My mask turned into a dark aura in his hand, and he exclaimed, ”No shit, mate! How could you turn so handsome?! Is that demon privilege or something?”

”Iʼm an incubus, and there are no ugly incubi,” I deadpanned. With a flourish, my hand waved to the front of my face, and a new mask formed, covering my features once again.

”Incubus?” he repeated, his eyes still wide, and then he gasped dramatically. ”So youʼre out there, sleeping around with women now?” he asked, as if he had just uncovered the juiciest demon gossip.

”Uh... kinda,” I admitted with a sheepish grin, realizing that explaining the intricacies of demon life to Larry was going to be both amusing and exasperating.

Larry leaned in conspiratorially, a mischievous glint in his eyes. ”Spill the demonic tea, Ethan! Any demon babies on the way?”

I couldnʼt help but laugh at his exaggerated curiosity. ”You watch too much supernatural drama, Larry. Itʼs not that easy,” I said.

He leaned back, pretending to wipe away a nonexistent tear. ”Darn, and here I thought demon love affairs were the next big hit,” he teased. A long exhale out of his mouth. ”Ya know, Iʼm so jealous of you! Life is so unfair!” It was quite a sight, especially with him wearing that demon hunter uniform like he was on a mission to save the world.

I couldnʼt help but let out a long-suffering sigh. ”Jealous of me? Really?” I asked, raising an eyebrow at his childlike whining. It was like dealing with a teenage drama queen.

He ignored my question and continued with his little act. ”I mean, come on, look at you – demon lord, handsome, probably immortal. And here I am, just a simple demon hunter. I got a cool uniform tho,” he lamented, giving a melodramatic twist to his words.

I rolled my eyes in mock exasperation. ”Are you seriously going to pull off the jealous act while wearing that uniform? Arenʼt you supposed to be all serious and intimidating?” I teased, unable to resist poking fun at his contrasting demeanor.

He switched gears, cleared his throat with an exaggerated cough, and flashed a mischievous grin. His hand casually found its way to my shoulder, and he leaned in as if sharing a top-secret plan. ”Anyway,” he began, the conspiratorial tone unmistakable. ”Since youʼre my buddy, you can help me clean them up, right?” He gestured toward the still-unconscious elders with a look that said, ʼWhat are friends for if not to help with my demon hunter duties?ʼ

I shot Larry a deadpan look, unable to believe the audacity. ”So, you find out Iʼm a demon lord, and your first thought is, ʼHey, letʼs put him to workʼ?” I raised an eyebrow, resisting the urge to facepalm.

He waved off my apparent distress with a nonchalant grin. ”Look, buddy, Iʼve got a mission here, and these oldies are cramping my style. Besides, youʼve got all those fancy demon powers, right?” He gestured toward the unconscious elders as if they were an insurmountable burden.

I couldnʼt help but cringe at his lack of sensitivity. ”Larry, theyʼre not baggage,” I deadpanned.

He chuckled, clearly unbothered by my dismay. ”Come on, Ethan, you know you can just go ʼPsiu----!ʼ and theyʼll all float in the air, following you like a bunch of helium balloons,” he said, mimicking the sound effect and extending his hand theatrically toward the elderly figures.

My cringe deepened. ”Itʼs called Telekinesis, Larry, not ʼPsiu---!ʼ” I clarified, exasperation evident in my tone.

Larry waved off my explanation with a dismissive smirk. ”Details, details. Youʼre missing the big picture here. We need to get them to safety, and youʼre a demon Guuber for the job,” he insisted, flashing that grin that screamed ʼIʼve got it all figured out.ʼ

”Fine, fine,” I sighed, realizing arguing with Larry about the intricacies of demon powers was an exercise in futility.

”Nice,” Larry grinned happily, his eyes lighting up as if he had just witnessed a magic show. I could practically hear the imaginary fireworks going off in his head. It was amusing to see him so thrilled by my telekinesis display.

I snapped my fingers, initiating my Telekinesis on the elders. The invisible force surrounded their bodies, lifting them gently from the ground. Larryʼs excitement reached a new level. His eyes widened, reflecting the wonder of a child watching a captivating spectacle.

”Wow!” he exclaimed, his voice filled with genuine amazement. It was as if he had just discovered a superpower he never knew existed. His delight was contagious, and I couldnʼt help but crack a small smile at his enthusiasm.

However, I swiftly shifted from amusement to business. I turned to him with my signature flat stare, ready to address the practicalities. ”Then? What is your plan?” I asked, injecting a touch of seriousness into my tone. Larry needed a reality check, and I was there to provide it, even if it meant bursting his bubble of excitement.

Larryʼs expression shifted from pure joy to a more thoughtful look. He scratched his head, trying to regain some composure. ”Right, right. We need to get these folks to the hospital,” he said, attempting to sound responsible.
