The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order

Chapter 1781: Frightening a ArchDeity

There was little that the Lord of the Void would not do—or give up—to bring harm to the Ancestor of Heaven and Earth. But vengeance was never so simple.

One could not merely march into battle and expect victory, especially against someone like him. The Ancestor of Heaven and Earth was not only one of the oldest entities in the Chaos Beyond the Realm but also a master of alliances and manipulation. His web of influence extended across many Arch-Deities who held positions of power in the farthest reaches of the cosmos.

Even if the Ancestor had no allies, it still wouldn’t be that simple. The Lord of the Void, confident as he was in his strength, knew one undeniable truth: if he tried to attack the Ancestor of Heaven and Earth within his Divine Kingdom, he would lose. Every single time.

The realm was a fortress, a sanctum of power too vast to overcome in a direct confrontation. And the Ancestor was no fool—he would never leave it for an open duel in the lawless chaos.

Cain stood beside the Lord of the Void with a calm, collected smile, brimming with confidence. ”The Blood Queen is one of the Prima Deities under the Ancestor of Heaven and Earth’s dominion,” he said. ”That woman attempted to corrupt my soul during our clash in the First Realm. I have every right to seek retribution. I will attack her Divine Kingdom and kill her. Given that I’ve already devoured part of her consciousness, I doubt she’ll be able to resist.”

The Lord of the Void frowned as he listened to Cain’s proposal. Striking down one of the Ancestor’s subordinates would indeed weaken his sphere of influence—but it wasn’t quite the plan he had envisioned. Still, it was a start. However, a more pressing issue lingered in his mind.

”You’ve already used revenge as justification to bring down the Sun Lord,” the Lord of the Void warned. ”If you invoke it again so soon—especially to strike at another Prima Deity’s Divine Kingdom—the customs and unspoken rules surrounding vengeance may not be enough to stop the other Arch-Deities from intervening.”

A cold, ruthless smile stretched across Cain’s face, his crimson eyes glowing faintly with a fire that had long since abandoned mercy. ”That’s the entire point. I want the Ancestor of Heaven and Earth to come after me. I want to draw him out. To make him furious enough to step beyond the borders of his sanctuary.”

The Lord of the Void’s brows furrowed. But after a moment of contemplation, his eyes widened with understanding.

”I’m technically under your dominion,” he said slowly. ”We are allies. So you have every right to protect your vassals while pursuing your rightful vengeance. If that old wretch actually leaves his Divine Kingdom and goes after me... then you will have the chance to strike him down.”

The realization sent a thrill through the Lord of the Void’s soul. Excitement surged within him, something rare and dangerous. Through the path Cain proposed, there was a real chance—however slim—to truly hurt the Ancestor of Heaven and Earth.

Cain was far from finished. The hunger in his eyes only grew more intense as he continued.

”If the Blood Queen isn’t enough to provoke him, I have another vendetta waiting. The Beast God. He too has earned my wrath, and I will end him. And if even after that the Ancestor still refuses to come out... then I’ll find another excuse. There’s no shortage of Prima Deities under his rule. Eventually, one of them will draw him out.”

The Lord of the Void stared at Cain in silence for a long time, his expression unreadable. The young man standing before him was no ordinary cultivator. He was something else entirely—a force of nature in the shape of a man. A storm wearing a crown.

When he finally spoke, it was with solemn weight.

”You understand, don’t you? That this path will make you a pariah among the Prima Deities. You will not only become the primary target of the Ancestor of Heaven and Earth, but you will be reviled and feared by others.”

Cain met his gaze without blinking. He shrugged casually, then looked up toward the end of the realm.

”For me, the Crimson World is nothing more than a ladder. I will continue climbing, higher and higher. Let them hate me. Let them fear me. If I am stronger than all of them, their feelings are irrelevant.”

He then turned to face the Lord of the Void directly, his expression growing deadly serious.

”Of course, I will only trigger this plan if you swear—on your power—that your hatred for the Ancestor of Heaven and Earth is absolute. That there will be no truce. No retreat.”

At that moment, Cain’s eyes began to change. The fiery glow faded, replaced by a deep, endless darkness. A void without bottom. Even the Lord of the Void felt something ancient stir in his instincts. A tremble. A chill. A sense of death that not even eternity could escape.

”If you make peace with the Ancestor of Heaven and Earth,” Cain said, voice low and soft like a whisper before a storm, ”I will be forced to hide. But make no mistake—I will return.”

The Lord of the Void was no stranger to threats. He had faced gods, monsters, and devils beyond comprehension. If any other Prima Deity had spoken such words to him, he would have laughed. But this was the Scarlet King. And his words triggered a primal response—one he hadn’t felt in a very, very long time.

”If I betray this man, I must kill him immediately,” the Lord of the Void thought. ”Or it will be my end.”

Those thoughts echoed through his mind as he slowly nodded, raising his hand. With a single motion, the roof of the dungeon opened, revealing the dark interior below.

There was no need for more words. His silent acceptance of Cain’s plan was enough.

The oppressive Power of Order receded. Cain’s eyes returned to their usual calm, collected state. He gave the Lord of the Void a brief nod, then stepped forward, entering the dungeon.

Inside, the space defied logic. It was far larger on the inside than it appeared from the outside—likely the result of spatial enhancement spells or divine architecture. Yet Cain paid none of that any attention. His gaze locked on the multitude of Prima Deities imprisoned within.

And then, slowly, inevitably, his smile widened.
