The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order

Chapter 1759: Star Man

The identity of the hidden figure was finally revealed as the remnants of his dark mantle disintegrated into sparks. He had the appearance of a young man, no older than his early twenties, with short, dark hair and a strikingly handsome face. However, the most distinctive feature was the seven stars on his forehead, each one a different color, radiating a swirling, overwhelming force of cosmic energy.

Right now, that face was twisted in a mask of fury and hatred. The loss of the Mantle of Darkness, one of his most powerful treasures, had driven him to the brink of rage.

That mantle had not been a mere ability, but a divine artifact granted to him by his master. It allowed him to conceal his presence, evade detection, and shield himself from a considerable amount of damage. As long as even a fragment of the mantle remained, it could regenerate over time. It had been his trump card for millennia.

But now, thanks to the relentless onslaught from the Neo-Demon and the Depravita, the mantle had been utterly destroyed. Not a trace remained to restore it. His heart burned with fury—but even so, he could not let rage consume him entirely. There were more immediate threats to address.

”Final End: Dragon Breath!”

Bahamut, who had no idea who the young man was, needed no explanation. If Cain and Meylin had attacked this figure without hesitation, then he was an enemy—plain and simple. Without waiting, Bahamut unleashed his strongest technique, firing a colossal blast of golden plasma that tore through the air like a judgment from the gods.

Normally, the young man would have easily deflected such an attack, but his body had not yet recovered from Cain and Meylin’s previous strikes. The plasma hit him head-on, searing his skin, and making it feel as though his very flesh might melt away.

”Enough!”

His roar erupted from within the plasma, followed by a massive burst of starlight. The force of it blew Bahamut’s attack away like smoke before a hurricane, revealing the young man’s imposing figure once more. His body radiated with streams of celestial energy as a radiant spear, resembling a fragment of the starry firmament itself, appeared in his grasp. His aura surged, exponentially greater than before—an overwhelming pressure that made the air tremble.

Cain and Meylin appeared before Bahamut in an instant, teleporting to shield him.

They had both unleashed their full might, even using the Depravita’s Negative Teleportation ability to give Cain a perfect opening for his sneak attack. Yet, the young man’s injuries were minor, demonstrating just how monstrously powerful he was. He had more than enough strength to kill Bahamut in a single exchange.

Cain’s gaze sharpened.

”Bahamut, stay back. Charge your power. When you see an opening, unleash your attack—but keep your distance.”

Bahamut wasn’t a fool. He knew he couldn’t match the young man in a direct clash. He nodded in silent agreement, retreating and gathering energy within his core, letting it build and swirl, preparing for the right moment.

With Bahamut safely away, Cain focused entirely on the man before them. A frown crept onto his face. The Sun Lord—whose memories Cain had stolen—might not have been a peak powerhouse in the Second Realm, but he had lived long enough to know of nearly every Prime Deity in existence. Yet there was no recollection of this young man, no record of such a figure.

”I don’t suppose you’ll tell us your name, will you?”

Cain’s voice cut through the tension, calm yet edged with challenge. His question was met only with cold, brutal silence.

”Fine then.”

Golden light surged in Cain’s eyes as red flames erupted from his body, consuming his form in a searing blaze. His aura intensified, merging with his very soul, raising his power to unimaginable heights.

”THUMP!”

His heart detonated like a war drum, triggering the activation of his Neo-Demon Asura Form. The sheer destructive aura of his body surged to the next level, shaking the very fabric of space itself.

”SHRRRRRRRRRRR!”

The sound of space shattering echoed across the sky as Cain launched forward at blinding speed. He appeared in front of the young man in less than a nanosecond, his fist, wreathed in an ocean of red flames, hurtling toward the man’s chest like a meteor of pure annihilation.

The Star-Man’s eyes widened, surprised by Cain’s speed, but his reflexes were sharp. He whipped his Firmament Spear around with astonishing velocity. The fist and the spear collided, releasing a colossal shockwave of flames and rainbow light that lit up the entire sky.

The spear groaned under the force of Cain’s blow, bending dangerously—but it held. The Star-Man gritted his teeth, using the spear’s resilience to deflect the strike, sending Cain flying backward through the air. Yet the clash had not been without cost. The Star-Man’s body trembled, frozen for a split second by the sheer force behind Cain’s attack.

And that split second was all Meylin needed.

She appeared in front of him like a phantom, her radiant sword gleaming with golden light as she took a deep breath.

”Damn it!”

The Star-Man cursed in his mind. Her aura was weaker than Cain’s, but she ignored all spatial restrictions, attacking with a ferocity that tore through the boundaries of possibility. He couldn’t move, but that didn’t mean he was helpless.

The seven stars on his forehead flared like miniature suns, casting a rainbow-colored mantle over his body at the last instant. The barrier formed just before Meylin’s sword could strike him.

”RRRRNNNNNNN!”

Her blade clashed with the barrier, the sound of metal grinding against metal echoing across the battlefield. Sparks erupted in all directions. Yet Meylin’s eyes burned with determination as she channeled the full force of her Core Sin and the Oniric Truth of Pride. Her sword carried not just strength, but an unyielding intent—the force that would never stop pushing forward, no matter the obstacle.

”ZNNNNN!”

To the Star-Man’s shock, her blade began to pierce through his rainbow barrier, creeping closer and closer to his face. A chill ran through his soul—a rare, unfamiliar sense of dread.

Desperation flooded his mind as he was forced to burn a portion of his life force to regain control of his body. With a roar of defiance, he thrust his spear forward just as Meylin’s sword shattered his mantle.

The spear impaled Meylin straight through the chest.

A cold, savage smile curled across the Star-Man’s face. He expected her body to collapse, lifeless—yet his smile faltered.

Because even as blood dripped from her lips, Meylin smiled back—a fierce, feral grin that sent a shiver down his spine. Her eyes burned like twin suns. She gripped the spear with her left hand, holding it firmly in place. And then, with a final, devastating burst of strength, she slashed down with her sword.
