The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order

Chapter 1593: Gu alliance

The next few days in the Gu World could only be described as bloody, chaotic, and utterly terrifying. The arrival of Reverend Madness above the desert battlefield abruptly ended the brutal confrontation between Zorcer and Lucius, forcing the two rival faction leaders into an unlikely alliance. Recognizing that Reverend Madness represented a far greater threat than any hostility between their factions, the two leaders gathered their strongest Divine Transcendence Masters and united in a desperate assault against the ancient entity.

Unfortunately, any faint hope they might have harbored was quickly crushed. Reverend Madness demonstrated a power so profound, so terrifyingly mythic, that even hundreds of formidable Divine Transcendence Masters stood no chance against him.

Reverend Madness wielded power with an ease that mocked their strength, slaughtering warriors as though they were no more than insects. After losing half their combined forces without even leaving a significant wound on the ancient monstrosity, Lucius and Zorcer finally grasped the futility of their efforts. Choosing survival over pride, they retreated hastily, accompanied by the few Divine Transcendence Masters who had miraculously survived.

To their relief and unease, Reverend Madness did not pursue them. Instead, he lingered above the blood-soaked sands, patiently watching as the lower-ranked cultivators were devoured from the inside out by their own rebellious Gu Insects.

Once the creatures finished consuming their hosts, Reverend Madness absorbed their power, fueling his sinister rebirth.

Lucius and Zorcer were aware that fleeing only delayed the inevitable. As long as they carried Gu Insects within their bodies, Reverend Madness could track them down at any moment.

Driven by fear, despair, and a relentless will to survive, the two rivals convened an urgent meeting with other faction leaders, hoping to forge a broader alliance against the common threat. Core Elder Karun was already on their side, as the Abyssal had already allied with Zorcer. Together, they swiftly found Core Elder Afira, a powerful and revered soul master from the Legio Eldritch Race, and Core Elder Olaf, the formidable Hell Clan elder renowned across the Gu World for his profound mastery over the Law of Death.

At first, Afira and Olaf could scarcely believe their eyes. Lucius and Zorcer traveling side-by-side seemed unthinkable, given the fierce animosity and deep-rooted xenophobia between their factions. The truth, however, became disturbingly clear when the two rivals showed recordings of Reverend Madness’s monstrous power, vividly documenting their failed battle and horrific losses. Despite their skepticism, neither Afira nor Olaf could deny the overwhelming evidence before them. The threat posed by Reverend Madness was genuine, immense, and imminent.

The idea of uniting multiple factions during a Gu Contest—a ritual of ruthless rivalry and cutthroat competition—went against the very nature of their existence. Yet, confronted by certain doom, no choice remained. Survival took precedence over ambition. Quickly, five faction leaders forged an uneasy but necessary alliance.

They did not have to wait long for the sixth faction leader to appear. Lady Azure, accompanied by her elite group of Divine Transcendence Masters, joined their cause voluntarily. She had also witnessed Reverend Madness’s might using her mystical abilities and understood that isolation would be suicide. The only leader absent from their ranks was the mysterious Night Prince, yet there was no time left to search for him. The six leaders knew they had to act swiftly.

Their first challenge involved handling the cultivators below the Divine Transcendence level. Reverend Madness had proven that a single insectoid shriek was enough to activate the Gu Insects within weaker cultivators, turning allies into unwilling meals that would fuel his rebirth.

Killing these cultivators outright was no solution either, as their Gu Insects would simply return to Reverend Madness and strengthen him further. To complicate matters, using the Gu Insect of Divine Transcendence Masters to devour the weak ones was also not a choice, as stronger insects would become more challenging to restrain.

Ultimately, the faction leaders made a grim but strategic decision. Lady Azure provided a special sealed storage—a separate pocket of reality designed for containment purposes.

Although uncertain whether this would prevent the insects from activating and devouring their hosts, at least the sealed dimension might stop them from returning to Reverend Madness afterward, denying him further strength. With determination, they sealed away every cultivator beneath the Divine Transcendence rank, hoping this drastic measure would spare them from contributing to Reverend Madness’s terrifying evolution.

Immediately afterward, the newly forged alliance moved swiftly to fortify their position. Choosing a strategically located valley deep within an imposing mountain range, they began constructing a formidable stronghold.

Though hastily built, the fortress was impressive, defended by ten towering energy structures. Each tower drew immense amounts of energy from the earth and sky, channeling it directly into the gathered Divine Transcendence Masters. These towers dramatically enhanced their combat strength, preparing them for the battle that awaited.

Scarcely had they finished their preparations when a monstrous pressure descended upon the mountain range. The sky darkened ominously, and the gathered cultivators shuddered under a power even more overwhelming than before. Lucius, Zorcer, and Karun immediately recognized the suffocating force: Reverend Madness had found them once more.

As he appeared, hovering majestically in the sky, his presence exuded a terrifying combination of grace and malice. An overwhelming aura of unfathomable power emanated from him, freezing even veteran warriors in place. Slowly, he gazed down upon the gathered coalition, radiating sinister amusement.

“Children of the Gu Sect, well done,” his voice echoed joyfully across the mountain peaks.

His words filled the cultivators with confusion and dread. Their uncertainty soon evaporated into horror as he continued with a dark chuckle, “Gathering all your strength together has merely expedited my rebirth. You have saved me precious time.”

His casual, condescending manner ignited a deep, burning rage within the gathered cultivators. They understood that Reverend Madness saw them merely as livestock awaiting slaughter.

Before they could respond, Reverend Madness unleashed a piercing, monstrous screech. “CHIIIRRRRRRRR!”

Instantly, pain erupted within every cultivator as their Gu Insects violently rebelled. The leaders strained desperately, exerting their power to contain their insects and prevent being devoured alive.

Lady Azure’s face turned grim as she checked the sealed dimension. She shook her head sorrowfully, signaling to her peers that even those cultivators sealed away were being mercilessly consumed by their insects. All they could hope was that the dimension held strong enough to prevent the insects from returning to their master.

Realizing that hesitation would only guarantee their doom, Lucius roared with determination, “Fight!”

Zorcer echoed fiercely, “Kill!”

Afira, Olaf, Karun, and Lady Azure shouted as one, “Destroy that monster!”

Together, the six faction leaders soared skyward, thousands of Divine Transcendence Masters following their desperate charge. Infused by energy from the towers and driven by the urgency of survival, their combined might surged, blazing brilliantly across the Gu World sky.
