The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order

Chapter 1554: Standing in the Gu World

From the moment the alarm was triggered to the moment Cain vanished and the Prima Deity boy returned to his post, only three seconds had passed—but those three seconds were unbearably tense.

A slow wave of relief spread across the faces of the Faction Leaders as the strain in their hearts eased for the first time in hours. A small smile formed on their lips, their minds finding comfort in a single thought—the monster had failed to reach the Gu World.

This sense of relief was most potent in the hearts of Lady Azure and the Night Prince. The nightmare was finally over. Or so they believed.

What none of them realized was that during those three seconds, people were still moving through the teleportation formation. While the alarm had momentarily confused the visitors from other factions, the natural momentum of the crowd kept them moving forward. Dozens, then hundreds, continued marching through the formation, their figures disappearing into the portal—into the Gu World.

And among them was one particular individual.

A young man with golden hair and blue eyes.

His entire body trembled, his heartbeat racing as he moved through space at a shocking speed due to the power of the teleportation formation. Then, in the next instant, he appeared in the skies of an enormous, foreign world.

The moment his skin felt the air, his eyes darted around, scanning his surroundings with an almost predatory sharpness. Then, as realization struck him, a broad and cold smile spread across his face.

A deep, almost manic laughter erupted from his lips.

“Hahahahahaha!” As his laughter echoed across the boundless sky, something began to change.

His entire figure started to glow, and strange runes erupted across his skin, illuminating his body with ancient, pulsating light. Then, in the next second, the runes shattered—as if breaking away from an illusion—and the transformation began.

The golden-haired young man vanished.

In his place, a new figure emerged.

His hair turned white, his eyes transformed into nebula-like pools of endless depth, and his aura expanded, unleashing a torrent of destruction and life at the same time.

The truth had been revealed.

Cain had infiltrated the Gu Sect—and no one had noticed.

For Cain, infiltrating the Gu Sect had not been particularly difficult. His [A.I. Chip Module] had been constantly analyzing the city’s structure during the years he spent inside, detecting patterns, flaws, and weaknesses in its defenses. Using that information, the Sky Sovereign generated a runic sequence capable of bypassing detection, allowing him to blend in seamlessly.

However, reaching the teleportation formation to the Gu World was another matter entirely. Even though thousands were passing through it every second, the formation was under the watchful eyes of the strongest powerhouses of the Gu Sect, including a Prima Deity.

That was where the distraction came in.

Cain had captured one of the Divine Ascension Masters who was meant to travel to the Gu World. Then, using the Sky Sovereign’s runes, he imprinted his own soul aura, life force, and bloodline onto the captive. The effect was simple—it would trigger the city’s defensive mechanisms, setting off alarms as soon as the man was detected.

The Divine Ascension Master, trapped under a soul invasion spell, continued to act naturally, unaware of what had been done to him. Then, when the moment came, the runes detonated, obliterating his body instantly and leaving behind nothing but shock and confusion.

Then came the doppelgänger—a far more difficult task.

Cain had needed to capture a Peak Divine Transcendent Master alive, an extremely dangerous feat given his current limitations. But once he succeeded, he used the Sky Sovereign’s runes to transform the captive into a perfect copy of himself.

The goal was not just to extend the window of distraction, but to implant the idea that he had abandoned the Gu Contest altogether.

It was a highly dangerous gamble, and many things could have gone wrong. But thanks to Cain’s meticulous planning—and the sheer power of the Sky Sovereign’s runes—everything had gone smoothly.

Now, however, there was no longer any need for a disguise.

Anyone who witnessed him fight would instantly recognize who he truly was, so there was no real point in keeping it. But that didn’t matter anymore.

Even if the people discovered that he had entered the Gu World, there was one unshakable truth—

No one could leave until only one Gu Insect remained.

Cain took a deep breath, his eyes narrowing as he turned his attention inward.

“Speaking of the Gu Insect… I have no idea how I’m supposed to get one.” While he had learned a great deal about the Gu Contest, this particular detail remained a mystery. Even after soul-searching multiple individuals, he had found no answers.

Fortunately, he didn’t have to wonder for long.

A mere few seconds after his arrival, a beam of light descended from the sky, moving so fast that even Cain failed to react in time.

It struck his arm, fusing into his flesh instantly.

Before he could even process what had happened, a cold mechanical voice echoed inside his mind.

[Warning! Warning! Foreign lifeform attempting to bond with Vessel!

How should the system respond to the parasitic entity?]

Cain’s expression darkened. Without hesitation, he shouted. “Contain it! If not possible, destroy it!”

Originally, Cain had seen the Gu Contest as a golden opportunity—a way to gain the power necessary to ascend to the Third Realm.

However, that was before he had discovered the true path to Mind and Body as One.

Now?

The Gu Contest was nothing more than a battlefield filled with enemies—opponents he could consume to recover his strength. The Gu Insect was undoubtedly a powerful tool, capable of granting immense strength.

But Cain was not foolish enough to allow an unknown foreign entity to bond with his body without fully understanding its nature.

If he could contain it and study its potential with a clear mind, he would.

If not?

Then, he would do everything in his power to destroy it.

At that moment, the Absolute Life Form System activated.

A surge of power flooded his body, and the [Sub-Atomic Analysis with Energy Manipulation] tool sprang into action.
