My Youth Began With Him

“Huo Mian, why are you here?” Gao Ran was taken aback.

“Gao Ran, I want to see Su Yu.” Huo Mian looked worried.

Gao Ran looked around and seeing no one around, he lowered his voice. “Come with me first.”

Huo Mian nodded and followed Gao Ran into his office.

“Sit,” Gao Ran said.

“What do you want to drink?” he asked.

“I don’t want anything to drink. Gao Ran, how is the case being handled?” Huo Mian asked.

“The victim reported the crime and we’re gathering evidence.”

“Is there any evidence?”

“Yes, there’s a fruit knife and Su Yu’s fingerprints are on it. Plus, when Liu Ze was attacked, Su Yu was there. It was at Liu Ze’s home too so it’s considered a home intrusion. Quite a few people from your work saw them so they’re all considered witnesses. Liu Ze sustained serious injuries… I heard that his wrist tendons are torn right?”

“Yes.” Huo Mian nodded.

“So, Liu Ze’s lawyer has asked the police to charge Su Yu with aggravated assault.”

“What… will happen?” Huo Mian was anxious.

“If the charges stick, he’ll go to prison. With the huge pressure from the media, I’m not sure if the Su Family can get him out of this one. Liu Ze might seem like a regular doctor but many of his relatives work in the provincial parliament… and they’re up there in rank. So this time, he’s really in trouble.”

“Su Yu wouldn’t do something like that,” Huo Mian explained.

“I know, but there’s nothing I can do. Although I’m the chief, I need to follow the evidence.”

“Then… can you let me see Su Yu?”

“That, I can do, but it has to be a short visit. 10 minutes, is that okay?” Gao Ran felt guilty.

After the incident occurred, someone leaked the information to the public and some others are using it to rile up the media to push their own agendas.

So, even as the chief of police, Gao Ran couldn’t do anything to. He had to make sure to do things by the books.

Otherwise, the media would have a reason to talk.

“Yes, 10 minutes is enough. Oh right, has anyone from the Su Family come here yet?”

“Mrs. Su came before and talked to me. She’s getting a lawyer. With so many eyes watching, Su Yu’s grandfather and father can’t really intervene,” Gao Ran explained.

“I understand. How about this? I’ll go see him first and we can think of a solution later.”

“Alright.”

Under the guidance of Gao Ran, Huo Mian saw Su Yu in the holding cells.

It had only been a night but he already looked haggard…

Maybe it was his uncleansed and unshaven face, Su Yu seemed to have aged quite a bit…

Good thing he wasn’t wearing cuffs. Because it wasn’t a murder, things weren’t as serious.

Su Yu looked quite relaxed actually. He was far different from the man with a fiery temper.

Especially after the birth of the twins, he had become as gentle as Baymax.

He had on a black and white Dolce & Gabbana shirt and casual pants.

Although Su Yu wasn’t as handsome as Qin Chu, he was still one in a million.

It pained Huo Mian to see him sitting there so quietly. It was as if he’s resting his eyes.

Gao Ran opened the door and reminded again, “Huo Mian, remember only 10 minutes.”

“I know, don’t worry,” Huo Mian assured Gao Ran.

She then entered the holding cell…

“I don’t want to eat. Take it away.” Su Yu had his eyes closed thinking it was the police delivering his meal.

“There’s nothing to eat even if you wanted food. I rushed over here and didn’t buy you anything.” Huo Mian smiled. At the sound of the familiar voice, Su Yu opened his eyes in delight…
