My Youth Began With Him

“Yeah, he’s doing great. The old man is more clever than me, so nothing will happen to him,” Lu Yan joked.

“Oh you… You never care about anything. Be careful, do you know that?”

“I know. How have you been?”

“I’ve been fine…”

“Really? Why did I hear news of your imminent divorce?’1 Lu Yan was up to date on the news.

“Eh, it’s just a small conflict. The media likes to blow everything up, don’t mind that.”

“How’s Little Bean and Pudding?”

“They’re doing good, really good. Don’t worry.”

“Mhm, and if anyone messes with you, tell me and I’ll blow them up for you.”

“Haha, okay.” Huo Mian really liked this little sister of hers, because she found that the young girl had a lot in common with her.

She was fearless and had more guts than anyone. Lu Yan had a fiery temper that would blow anyone up.

That made Huo Mian love her more…

“Sis, what are you laughing at? I’m being serious. I have lots of explosives; I have the most cutting-edge bombs, tracking devices, and even missiles. I can get anything.”

“Hahahaha.” Huo Mian laughed harder.

“I’m being serious, I’m not joking.”

“I know.”

“Then why are you laughing? I feel like you don’t believe me and think that I’m just boasting.” Lu Yan rubbed her head. “Nothing, it’s just that your sister is a regular citizen. You really don’t have to use a missile, haha. That’s too wasteful.” “Okay, okay. Anyways, don’t worry Sis, I will be protecting you and watching over you.”

“Mhm, Yan, you have to be careful too, you know that?”

“I know, I’m going to be fine. Okay, I’m hanging up now.”

“So soon…” Huo Mian didn’t want to go. They called about once a month and she didn’t want to hang up.

“International-calling is expensive,” Lu Yan said.

“Haha, you are not someone who has to worry about money.” Huo Mian laughed.

She knew that Lu Yan was rich. All of the twins’ gifts were over a billion dollars.

“I was just messing with you. I have some stuff to take care of on my end, I can’t speak for much longer. I’ll call you very often though.”

“Mhm, remember to let me know that you’re safe.”

“Okay, see ya, Sis.”

“Bye, Yan.”

After hanging up, Lu Yan felt down. She wanted to be with Huo Mian, sitting in a cafe and chatting.

She wanted to go shopping in a mall and do manicures with Huo Mian.

However, that wasn’t her lifestyle.

She was bound to be a Queen of War since her birth…

Sometimes, she wondered what would’ve happened if she was the one that her parents left behind in C City.

Then, she could live a normal life like her older sister.

To go to university, do things that she liked, and date a boy that she loved. Then, graduate, get married and have children of her own.

However, these mundane dreams were unachievable for Lu Yan.

Tan, the food’s ready. Come and eat.” Qiao Fei stood below and looked at the roof.

“Okay.” Lu Yan jumped.

She flew down as nimbly as a bird.

When they ate, they mindlessly chatted. Suddenly, Lu Yan emotionally asked, “Qiao Fei, do you know what my childhood dream was?”

“To be an explosives expert?” Qiao Fei asked.
