Child of Destiny

Chapter 1717: Win or Lose?

...…

Morax did not wait for Shin to respond as he quickly summoned his stone spear before suddenly launching an attack at Shin.

Swoosh!

He dashed forward while thrusting the stone spear in his hands as rock fragments flew around his boy, swirling and twirling in the air during his charge.

As he was approaching Shin, the rock fragments stuck into his body and formed a set of full-body armor. Not only that, but he had also extracted the minerals from the earth, which created a special metal that mixed with his armor and spear.

Adding the demonic runes that appeared from the surface of his armor and the spear, the aura that he was currently emitting intensified, especially with the black miasma that was coming out from his body.

Swoosh!

Shin quickly responded as he saw his opponent charging at him. He swiftly summoned Grimrace to possess his armor as well as Blackie and Whitie, who went for the [Yamato].

Swoosh! Swoosh!

Facing the incoming attack, Shin swiftly swung the [Yamato] at the approaching demonic spear, producing an intense collision in the process.

Bang!

Blazing sparks flew in the air as the two took a step back due to the collision before forcing themselves to regain their footing.

Bang! Bang!

The two left a deep imprint on the ground to stop all the force produced by the collision as well as maintaining their balance.

Morax took a couple more steps back to create an ideal space to use his spear before stabbing it at Shin, leaving a series of afterimages in the air. Each of his stabs was not only fast but they also carried a lot of power, which was heavy enough to crush boulders with each strike.

Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!

Shin, on the other hand, bravely took a step forward as he split the [Yamato] into its twin blade form with Blackie and Whitie possessing each sword.

Crackle! Crackle!

Electric sparks danced around Shin and his swords as he swung them forward, clashing with the incoming strikes of his opponentʼs spear.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

A series of intense collisions quickly erupted as the swords and spears repeatedly clashed against one another, producing intense ripples in the air that swept through everything.

The surrounding boulders were crushed under the strong shockwaves that each of their attacks produced while grinding all those rock fragments into dust.

Swoosh! Swoosh!

After a series of intense collisions, the two were forced to take a step back once again as they needed to relieve the tension in their arms that was caused by their exchanges.

Each of Moraxʼs spear attacks was so heavy that it made Shinʼs arms numbed after a series of exchanges. At the same time, he had also added a spiral force to enhance each of his attacks by spinning the spear with each of his strikes.

But Shinʼs sword strikes were not weak either, especially when he could absorb some of the force of his opponentʼs attack and return them by strengthening his next strikes with it through his ʼInfinity Edgeʼ Combat Technique.

Shin had the advantage when it came to a prolonged exchange, especially when he could enhance each of his sword strikes repeatedly by borrowing the force of his opponent in every collision. Each of his attacks gradually became more powerful, which was why Morax was forced to disengage before Shin could accumulate more power that he would be unable to withstand.

But Morax was not simple either. Given the nature of his power, which came from the Earth Elemental Enhancement that was further amplified by his demonic powers, his body toughness and defenses had a high tolerance against any form of attack.

He was able to withstand his opponentʼs repeated attacks despite the gradual increase in strength.

However, he had to disengage early as he could tell that he would still be at a disadvantage once Shin accumulated enough power that even his defenses could not withstand.

On the offensive side, Moraxʼs spear attacks were not that simple either, especially when he reinforced each of his attacks with spiral force.

The accumulated stress in Shinʼs arms was getting heavier with every collision he made with his opponentʼs spear attacks. Even if he could gradually strengthen his attacks, the repeated exposure to the spiral force of his opponent piled up the tension in his arms, affecting his actions.

Shin had to also disengage from his opponent due to this, saving his arms from breaking.

But the two did not stop despite creating space for each other. They quickly followed their attacks with skills or techniques that they could use from a distance.

Swoosh!

Right after retreating, Morax swept his foot on the ground, creating a deep mark on it before the earth burst forth and formed into earth spikes that headed toward Shinʼs location.

Shin swiftly sheathed his sword while changing his breathing technique to the Solar Breathing Technique. He had also released Blackie and Whitie from posing the [Yamato] before letting Solus take over for her ʼDivine Constellation Technique.ʼ

As he breathed out some fire embers from the gaps on the side of his mask, Shin suddenly pulled the [Yamato] from its sheath, revealing its blazing blades, before swinging it horizontally and sending out a blazing crescent forward.

Shing!

Boom!

The blazing sword wave cut through the incoming earth spikes before the explosion and turned the rock fragments into dust.

Swoosh!

As the cloud of dust blocked Shinʼs field of vision due to the previous explosion, a construct in the form of an earth dragon suddenly broke through and head at him with its wide-opened mouth.

Roar!

Shin seemed to have already expected the attack as he was already twirling the blazing sword in the air as he pulled back a little.

He then suddenly swung the sword down, leaving a beautiful blazing trail in the air. The gorgeous flame then turned into a blazing phoenix that flew forward and clashed against the incoming earth dragon construct.

Shriek!

Along with a dragonʼs roar and a phoenixʼs cry, the two elemental attacks clashed against one another, producing an even larger explosion that forced the two to retreat in the distance.

Boom!

But the two did not pause as they quickly headed back charging at each other right after the fire of the explosion subdued even a little.

Swoosh! Swoosh!

Morax bravely charged through the remaining flame due to his powerful defense while Shin did not care about it as he protected himself from the heat with both the Solar Breathing and Boundless Ocean Techniques.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

They had a series of exchanges, only leaving a series of blurs and silhouettes that were flying throughout the battlefield.

ʼDemonic Stone God Skill (Tier 2): (Inferior) Demon Dragon Constructsʼ

After cornering Shin within a basin filled with rock formations, Morax suddenly kept his stone spear behind him while pointing at Shin with his free hand, summoning a group of serpent dragons that surrounded Shin from every direction.

Shin suddenly halted his advance after seeing that before swiftly assuming his signature stance. He then activated the Five Elemental Primordial Lightning by adjusting his breathing before suddenly unsheathing the sword and swinging it around multiple times.

Shing!

ʼJade Kirin Scripture: Quick Draw (Lightning) – Flash Firmamentʼ

Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!

A series of sword flashes appeared in the air, forming an impenetrable net around Shin that cut through all the lesser earth dragon constructs that were trying to devour him.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Amid the explosions around him, Shin swiftly sheathed the [Yamato] in one cool motion before suddenly kicking the ground and strongly propelling himself forward.

Boom!

His figure suddenly disappeared as he broke through the air while being accompanied by a loud sonic boom that resembled the sound of a dragon.

Roar!

When Shin appeared a couple of meters away from Morax, who was already raising his spear before him, an apparition of a lightning dragon suddenly appeared around as he pulled the sword out of its sheath and stabbed it forward.

Shing!

ʼJade Kirin Scripture: Quick Draw (Lighting) – Flash Finalʼ

Roar!

Morax had already summoned a thick earthen barrier when Shin appeared before him, blocking the incoming attack.

But just like earlier, his estimation of this sword technique of Shin far surpassed his expectations, especially when Shin had combined a variety of Sword Principles in the process along with the enhanced Five Elemental Primordial Lightning.

Boom!

The barrier was broken into fragments as the tip of Shinʼs sword, which was filled with lightning currents, was fast approaching Morax.

But right before the sword pierced through his body, the demonic player suddenly transformed into specks of light, which then dissipated in the air.

”Oops! It looks like I truly lost this time,” he said in a calm tone while staring straight into Shinʼs eyes. ”Thatʼs close, but I guess I still survive this in the end.”

”You are truly unpredictable, Battle God. Letʼs meet again next time,” he added as he had completely disappeared before Shin.

Swoosh!

Shin flew past the dissipating specks of light while wearing a deep frown behind his mask. He stayed still for a couple of moments before turning his head to the sky, where he could see the Eclipse Dragon ripping the colossal Earth Dragon Construct into pieces.

Crack! Crack!

At the same time, he could also see the spatial cracks that appeared in every corner of the Ancient Battlefield, signifying that it was about to collapse.

He then turned at the spot where he was about to stab Morax earlier, staring at the crumbling head of another earth dragon looming right behind him at that time.

”I may have won this battle, but I am not sure about the fight,” he mumbled as he was slowly transported out of the Ancient Battlefield.

”Pandemonium Troupe, these guys sure are interesting. I am also looking forward to meeting their other members.”
