Child of Destiny

Chapter 1702: Dance of the White Witch and the Dark Swordsman (Part 3)

...

Right after Shin released his multi-layered Domain Skills, the portion of the battlefield that the skills had covered was immediately transformed, catching quite a lot of attention.

The Templars and Holy Knights near Shin wanted to assist him when they saw that he was under assault by multiple individuals.

He was surrounded.

But before they could even make their move, they saw Shin gesturing at them. His signal was telling them that he could handle himself despite being surrounded by a lot of enemies from all sides.

The NPCs could see the overwhelming confidence coming from Shin despite his current predicament. They hesitated for a moment before following his orders and continued fighting the Plague Behemoth, which was already starting to struggle due to slowly losing the effects of the drugs that it had taken earlier.

Shin knew that the frontline could not afford to lose any of the defensive lines that he had set up. He had to let them keep the formation so that the Plague Behemoth could not find any gap to run away later.

At the same time, the formation that he had arranged was also meant to prevent the other forces from getting near the Overlord Monster later when it was time for the last hit, especially when there were still those Plague Race Players, who were constantly bothering them.

…

Shin pushed Arlo and Bloodflame back due to the overwhelming boost of his stats while also halting Tyroneʼs advance with a powerful shockwave that he just released to prevent anyone from getting near him.

He then swiftly swept his gaze at the surroundings, checking on the emblems of everyone who was attacking him.

A glance at them was more than enough to let Shin know that the guilds that each of them represent. All of them were from those guilds that had some grudges with him or the Empyrean Talons.

Shin might not be that familiar with the top experts within the circle of Godlike Players and Maverick Gods as he was quite ʼnewʼ within the virtual world unlike the others within the Empyrean Talons, who were already quite known even before this game.

But it did not mean that he could not recognize who were the apex experts within that circle.

A single glance was more than enough to tell him that each of them was a powerful player, either a Godlike Player with a quite high ranking or a Maverick God with similar strength and achievement.

However, the majority of them were not high enough to be ranked on the same level as Shin and the others. Regardless, their strength was something he could not afford to underestimate, especially Arlo, Tryone, and Bloodflame, who attacked him first earlier, as they were the ones who were emitting the most dangerous scent.

In the meantime, these powerful experts could not help but halt their tracks the moment when they saw the multiple layers of domains that Shin had summoned.

They were his old and new signature domains.

They immediately sensed the massive decline in their stats and the overwhelming boosts in Shinʼs overall strength.

They were stunned by the overwhelming presence and suffocating pressure that Shin was currently emitting. They were surprised that even with their respective strength and level, they still found it hard to breathe before him.

It might be because of the multiple layers of Domain Skills, but it was still a part of Shinʼs overall strength, which was why they found it hard to believe.

”Is this his real strength?” mumbled Bloodflame as the fighting spirit within him was further ignited.

But it was just the start as Shin continued to reveal more of his cards. ”Light and Darkness Reaper.”

Swoosh! Swoosh!

Whitie and Blackie briefly manifested behind him before suddenly possessing the sheathed [Yamato], further enhancing Shinʼs overall stats.

ʼElemental Spirit Possession (Light and Darkness): Chaos Slasherʼ

At the same time, he entered the Combat State of ʼReality Manifestationʼ alongside the Natural State of his Battle Genius Talent.

ʼNatural State: Perfect Zenithʼ

He knew that he could not afford to lower his guard against these people, especially when every one of them possessed a ʼdecentʼ strength according to his standards.

Crackle! Crackle!

The five elemental lightning immediately followed as he activated his unique Mana Manipulation Technique. The lightning currents danced around his body as its properties were enhanced by the Domain Skill of his Storm Raider Title.

Boom!

As Shin finished all of these, the already overwhelming force that his body was emitting was further enhanced, almost crushing those around him.

These experts could not help but break into cold sweat as they tried to endure the pressure coming from Shin. They tightened their grip over their weapons while activating their respective berserk skills to at least lessen the gap between Shin and them.

Bang!

But Shin took the initiative to attack against them despite being surrounded by multiple Godlike Players and Maverick Gods. He was taking advantage of the current gap that their stats had.

Swoosh!

Shin flew straight to the spot where he felt the least threatening feeling from his enemies, unsheathing the [Yamato] and swinging it forward.

Shing!

His figure turned illusionary during his flight before transforming into a streak of light that flew straight to the opposing side while piercing through everything in his path.

ʼJade Kirin Scripture: Quicky Draw (Lightning): Flash Strikeʼ

Swoosh!

Feeling the immense sense of death coming from the incoming light, everyone on its path used their respective techniques, particularly their reinforced mana manipulation technique, to cover their bodies and weapons while dodging and blocking.

Boom!

A sonic boom quickly followed as Shin went past everyone, blowing those with a slightly weaker strength away and sending them flying in different directions.

Those who managed to withstand the impact, on the other hand, were somewhat pushed back, but still able to hold their ground quite well.

”Now!”

”Attack! Donʼt let him go around unhindered!”

”Block his course and pin him in place!”

Everyone quickly responded after surviving the deadly opening, launching a series of simultaneous attacks coming from different directions.

Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!

Shin just raised his brows when he saw the incoming attack but remained calm. His eyes, which were reinforced by the fully activated True Sight Skill, swept through everyone as he marked their positions while his brain worked overtime to find the most ideal course of action that he needed.

Swoosh!

Switching the breathing technique that he was using, Shin activated the Boundless Ocean Technique, making his senses sharp.

At the same time, his movements became more fluid, flawless, and formless – becoming like water.

Swoosh!

Additionally, the sheath in his left hand turned into a rapier, which Ronan quickly possessed almost instantly.

ʼLegacy Skill: Mondiʼs Style – Conviction Formʼ

ʼElemental Spirit Possession: Depths Devourerʼ

Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!

Shin dodged every attack with a series of flowing motions. He adeptly avoided all the deadly attacks while also counter-attacking with quick flashes of stabs using the ʼDepths Devourerʼ.

Adding the sword principles of swiftness, sharpness, and flexibility, each of his attacks became much deadlier as he targeted each weakness of his opponentsʼ forms.

His movements were like flowing water in a raging river – forceful yet also graceful; violent yet also restrained.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Clang! Clang! Clang!

As Shin threw a series of exchanges, the experts from the opposing side could not help but feel some pressure despite working together.

They were unable to pinpoint the exact feeling that they were currently experiencing, but they knew that they could not let this continue.

Boom!

Tyrone finally made his move along with those of the knight profession. They raised their shields before them as they charged at Shin with all their might.

Linking their skills together, a huge Shield Wall was suddenly manifested before them as they charged forward like a giant bulldozer that could flatten anything in its path.

Sensing the incoming attack, Shin quickly adjusted his form while switching his breathing technique once again.

This time, he used the Great Dominator Technique, reinforcing his body with the power of the earth element. His body was overwhelmed with strength while his form became sturdier, firmer, and more solid.

The weight of his body seemed to have increased by multiple levels while the rapier in his left hand transformed into a greatsword, which Astaroth had possessed this time.

ʼLegacy Skill: Mondiʼs Style – Judgement Formʼ

ʼElemental Spirit Possession: Summit Shaperʼ

He rested the greatsword on his shoulder for a moment as he took on a stance while staring at the moving Shield Wall.

He then gathered all the Earth Elemental Mana from the surroundings, particularly from the ground underneath his feet, and channeled them toward his sword as he swung it down with all his might.

Boom!

From the perspective of the incoming knights led by Tyrone, the sword in Shinʼs hand turned into a giant sword that towered over them before suddenly crashing down like a falling mountain.

Their bodies were suddenly overwhelmed by the crushing pressure as if the surrounding gravity had increased by multiple folds, making it harder for them to move.

ʼFour Symbol Scripture: Divine Yellow Dragon – The Great Mountain Crusherʼ

Boom!

Seeing that it was getting closer and heavier, the knights were forced to halt their advance before using their respective defensive skills to ʼcatchʼ the descending sword, which then caused them to kneel on the ground after the impact.

They might have withstood the strike, but the humiliation of making them kneel with a single strike was more than enough to make them explode in anger.

But Shin did not care about their current feelings as he was already facing another attack from Bloodflame and Arlo, who were flanking him from different directions.

He first released the ʼChaos Slasher Possessionʼ before letting Solus take over, changing the form of the [Yamato] once again.

ʼElemental Spirit Possession: Divine Constellationʼ

Along with it, Shin had also switched his breathing technique for another time, using the Solar Breathing Technique instead.

His body was immediately filled with overwhelming strength and explosive power while his movements became unpredictable – flickering, wavering, and pulsating.

With a sudden burst of strength, he suddenly swung the blazing [Yamato] multiple times, filling the air with its fiery trails.

They then intertwined with one another and swirled around Shin, forming an image of a spinning phoenix that was swinging its wings in the air.

ʼFour Symbol Scripture: Celestial Vermillion Bird – Dance of the Pheonixʼ

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Bloodflame and Arlo clashed multiple times against the blazing wings of the phoenix, forcefully stopping them from their tracks.

Shin had just used a few of his skills yet was already showcasing his dominance despite his current opponentsʼ level of power.

This could only mean that he was not holding back. At the same time, he was also sending a message to everyone that he would claim their lives instead if they did not reveal their true powers.

He was blatantly provoking them into their face, making them explode in anger!

”Bastard! Letʼs see how long you can act high and might!”

”Iʼll kill you”

”Arrogant! This will be your downfall!”

Hearing their curses, Shin gave them an even more provocative gesture by pointing the tip of the [Yamato] at them.

”I am feeling good today. Letʼs see if you can dance with my pace!” he mumbled as his burning excitement was ignited to its fullest.

”Today, I will go crazy!”
