Child of Destiny

Chapter 1706: Dance of the White Witch and the Dark Swordsman (Part 7)

...…

Six top-notch Godlike Players and Maverick Gods surrounded Shin and Cloe. They had a Tier 3 Blade Demon, a Tier 3 Guardian Knight, a Tier 3 Beastman Warlord, a Tier 3 Executioner, a Tier 3 Shadow Blade, and a Tier 3 Moonlight Sword.

Each of these godly experts was famed for their respective styles and impossible achievements. It was clear that this was going to be a hard battle even for Shin and Cloe, who were at the monstrous level of their own.

”There is only a bit of time before the duration of his domain skills ends. We can just hold out until then, and we will have a much easier time,” said Arlo as he lazily put one of his swords on his shoulder.

”Tsk! There is no need to wait. That is for cowards! Letʼs take them down now and get this over with,” said Tyrone as he slammed his sword and shield against each other.

”I like what you just said for the first time! Letʼs fight them head-on!” nodded Bloodflame as his burning fighting spirit blazed even more.

Mamba shook his head as he refuted. ”Idiot! Is getting humiliated once not enough? Get your head together. If beating you up is not enough, then you can go ahead and let him beat you a bit more.”

Oblivion, on the other hand, impatiently rolled his eyes at them as he asked. ”Are we going to fight or just argue with each other? Iʼm leaving if it is the latter.”

Drex nodded his head, agreeing with what Oblivion had said. ”Shall we go? This is getting pointless away.”

While the group surrounding them were arguing with one another, Shin and Cloe were already preparing their next course of action.

Cloe waved her holy staff and cast a series of buffs to Shin, further enhancing his already broken stats.

Boom!

The pressure that he was passively emitting just got even stronger, making the six turn their gaze at him at the same time. They looked at him with wariness, fully understanding that this was not going to be an easy battle.

Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!

Seeing that Cloe had quickly kneeled on the ground and started praying to prepare for a large-scale holy spell, the three assassins quickly made their moves, planning to stop her.

They could instantly tell that it was a powerful spell that could threaten the six of them, so they had to stop her from activating that spell.

The other trio understood their thoughts as well, so they coordinated with them, planning to attack Shin from a different angle so that he could not help Cloe.

Surrounded, Shin knew that it was going to be a little tricky to stop all six of them alone. After all, each of these guys was a powerful expert, so ordinary means would most likely be ineffective against them.

”Talking about numbers, huh? I have that as well!” he mumbled as he made his move.

ʼEquipment Skill (Headgear: Nephilimʼs Gemini Mask): Spirit Release + Spirit Fusionʼ

ʼPhantom Swordsman Skill: Phantom Apparitionʼ

The Sun and Moon Clones were instantly summoned before merging and transforming into the Eclipse Clone, which released an overwhelming aura due to the fully enhanced stats that it had that were reflected by Shinʼs current parameters.

The Phantom Apparition, on the other hand, appeared like a ghost. It was not emitting even a hint of its aura, making it look like an ordinary ʼhumanʼ rather than a clone. It was easy to overlook its existence due to the faint aura that it had, making the others almost miss his appearance altogether.

One was releasing an overwhelming magic power while the other was hidden behind the ʼlightʼ that the former was emitting. They complimented each otherʼs existence perfectly, making the opposition look at them warily.

But that was not the end as Shin and his two powerful clones suddenly released nine phantoms each, perfectly resembling their original forms and emitting a similar level of auras. They were absolute phantoms that reflected their original bodies to perfection.

Even if these phantoms still did not have any fighting capabilities just like before, their forms were more than enough to confuse their opponents due to their perfect mimicry.

ʼPhantom Swordsman Skill: (Enhanced) Phantom Danceʼ x3

Shin did not wait for the opposing party to regain themselves as he and his clones made their moves respectively, covering all three directions to protect Cloe from the three assassins while also blocking the advance of the other three.

Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!

Shin and the two clones moved and started attacking the six godly experts while swapping places from one phantom to another.

Due to the phantoms covering all directions, Shin and his clones could stop any attempt of the other side to reach Cloe.

The Eclipse Clone inherited his ever-changing style alongside his application of elemental powers. It controlled all the elements that he possessed, especially the elements of fire, water, wood, metal, and earth.

It applied the elemental control and switches along with the swapping of swords with the help of the ʼLegacy Skill: Mondiʼs Styleʼ.

It showcased the overwhelming magical prowess and exquisite swordsmanship of a magic swordsman while fighting the opposing side.

It combined elemental magic and his swordsmanship perfectly, even surpassing its real body to a certain extent.

The Phantom Apparition, on the other hand, was taking a more secretive approach – or more specifically, it was using the stealthy style of battle, which resembled an assassin rather than a swordsman.

If the Eclipse Clone was combining magic and swordsmanship, then the Phantom Apparition possessed the style that was born from assassination and swordsmanship.

It was utilizing the nine Phantoms that it had summoned to the fullest, making its movements and ambushes unpredictable. Adding that it was also using all the stealth skills under its arsenal, the Phantom Apparition became a deadly assassin that even made the three godly assassins from the opposing side an immense threat.

Aside from that, the Phantom Apparition also used a variety of skills that even the original body did not possess. It felt like a whole different ʼpersonʼ rather than a clone.

It was showcasing the true might of Phantom Swordsmanship that even its original body could not achieve yet.

Due to the completely different styles that the two clones were showcasing, the opposing side felt like they were fighting two additional people rather than clones of Shin.

They were having a hard time to adjust with these styles, which Shin took advantage of. He was launching a series of ambushes that targeted the opening that the two clones had created with their respective styles.

Since he had scattered his nine Phantoms in every direction, mixing them with the ones that the two clones had created, Shin could basically appear anywhere and unexpectedly attack the others from different angles.

But despite having the advantage, Shin did not press further as he knew his current priority. He had to focus on protecting Cloe rather than pushing himself to take all these guys at once.

Due to him only taking on a defensive stance, the six guys were having a hard time advancing even with the help of their respective tricks.

Shin poured everything he had into defense, which made it hard for them to find a way to stop Cloe from finishing her holy spell.

Due to that, the six shifted their focus away from her to Shin and his clones. They grouped themselves into two while fighting Shin and his clones.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

This gave Shin some pressure as he could tell that the six wanted to eliminate him rather than Cloe this time. The six were even focusing on targeting him rather than his clones as they understood that these overpowered clones would just disappear once the original body was killed.

But it was easier to say than done as Shin was utilizing almost everything he had when fighting them.

Moreover, Shin also knew that he only had to hold them for a while as Cloe would finish casting her holy spell soon enough.

Zong~! Long~ Long~!

Not long after, Cloe finished casting the spell. She raised her head toward the sky and a brilliant pillar of light suddenly descended, landing on the exact spot where she was praying.

Boom!

There was no explosion or a powerful impact upon the descent, but a holy aura immediately swept through the entire battlefield.

The formation that sealed all the entrances and exists from this place was further enhanced by her holy spell. Everyone marked as enemies suffered a huge drop in their respective stats while those recognized as allies gained a massive increase in strength and power instead.

Shin swiftly changed from a defensive stance to an offensive one right after gaining a huge boost in stats and started the counterattack.

At the same time, Cloe coordinated well as she started casting one spell after another to assist Shin.

Their teamwork was flawless and did not require any verbal signal as they understood each otherʼs intention by seeing their respective actions.

They were communicating with just their actions, which then produced a series of specialized combinations that overwhelmed their opponents.

Shinʼs fearless assault and relentless attacks were complimented by Cloeʼs timely assistance and perfect healing.

The pair worked with perfect teamwork, which resembled a dance in the eyes of those watching the battle from a distance or through the live feed provided by some scouts.

The perfection of their teamwork did not just look stunning but mesmerizing as well.

Cloe looked like a conductor, waving her staff and hand to dictate the pace of the battle, while Shin and his cloneʼs actions resembled those of a great performer, dancing in front of millions of spectators.
