Child of Destiny

Chapter 398: The Three Wolves vs The Monster Trio (Part 3)

...

BOOM!

A powerful pressure was exploded right after the trio of Shin, Arthur and Leonard released their respective powers. And due to that, they indeed look like a trio of young monsters who were looking fiercely at their opponents.

Due to the Eternal Flame Internal Qiʼ released by Arthur together with his activated ʼForesightʼ talent, he looked like a real young dragon majestically releasing a suppressing pressure as if he was forcing anyone to kneel in front of him, telling them that they were inferior beings.

And if you add the pressure given by his attainment in spearmanship, then his entire presence became even more threatening for their opponent.

On the other hand, Leonardʼs body was currently covered by crimson Internal Qi with some shades of black color on its surface. But the dark shades mixed in his Internal Qi were different from the evil aura given by the ʼDemonic Qiʼ and ʼEvil Qiʼ. Instead, it was giving an impression that he was a savage beast, staring at its prey full of hunger.

Alongside it, his eyes were also shining with crimson light which made his look even more savage. At the same time, he was also breathing some white smoke which made him look like a primordial beast hungry for slaughter.

Meanwhile, Shin was not losing with these guys either. The combined pressure given by his ʼSacred Internal Qiʼ and Mental Energy was as strong as the pressure given by Leonard and Arthur.

Both of his powers were calm and serene compared to the other two. But from the three wolvesʼ point of view, Shin looked like a real monster disguising as a harmless lamb.

He was staring at his opponents with calm eyes as if he was not afraid to face them head-on even if they had higher Martial-Art attainments than him.

Looking at them, the faces of the three wolves suddenly became solemn as if they were looking at a trio of real young monsters right now.

After that, they exchanged gazes at each other, sending some signals.

ʼThese kids are troublesome to deal with if we still insist to fight them in group,ʼ said Enrico.

Receiving that signal, the other two nodded their heads, agreeing with him. And when Enrico saw that, immediately added ʼLetʼs try isolating each of them first before fighting them one-on-one.ʼ

They were still in the middle of communicating when the opposing trio immediately took the first move once again.

Swoosh!

Leonard broke away from the group and immediately rushed towards Enrico. There was a famous saying in the street – if you want to win in a group fight, you need to show your opponents how strong you were. And the best way to do that was to take down their leader.

During his charge, he covered his right-hand fist with a rotating Internal Qi while pulling his right arm backwards. He was planning to throw a straight punch at Enrico. But midway, Marcus suddenly blocked his path while throwing a powerful punch at him. And when Leonard was that, he immediately threw his punch at him instead.

ʼBlood Sutra: Internal Explosionʼ

Boom!

A powerful shockwave was sent in every direction when their fists collided at each other.

At first, Marcus didnʼt feel anything strange at that punch thrown by Leonard. But after a few seconds, he felt something explode inside his arm that seemed to be tearing his tendons.

”Ugh!” being caught off-guard, Marcus couldnʼt help but took a couple of steps backwards while also pulling his right arm at the same time.

Seeing that, Leonard immediately grabbed that opportunity to enfold his right arm with another bunch of Internal Qi and planned to throw another punch. But before he could even throw his fist forward, Mario suddenly appeared right beside him while thrusting his daggers forward.

Leonard paused for a moment when he saw that. But he immediately reacted in time and quickly abandoned the idea of attacking Marcus. Then he covered both of his hands with his Internal Qi as an extra layer of protection while catching the incoming daggers with precise timing.

ʼBlood Sutra: Hands of Devilʼ

With his firm grip, Mario was unable to pull his daggers back which made him locked in place. And when that happened, Arthur suddenly appeared beside him while throwing a forward thrust with his spear.

Clang!

But Arthurʼs spear was immediately deflected away by Enrico when he suddenly appeared in front of Arthur out of nowhere.

After that, Enrico immediately clenched his right hand into a fist while focusing a bunch of Natural Force in it. And when the accumulation of powers reached its peak, he immediately thrusted his fist forward, throwing a powerful punch.

Seeing that, Arthur let go his spear without further ado while tapping it upwards, flipping it in the air. And while doing those actions, he was also leaning his body backwards to dodge the incoming fist.

After avoiding that punch, Arthur suddenly did a flip backwards while throwing a kick at Enricoʼs chin.

Enrico managed to dodged that kick by leaning his head to the side, but his eyes suddenly turned wide when he felt that tip of Arthurʼs spear was swinging in the direction where his head was leaning towards.

Fortunately, Marcus already recovered himself and quickly swung his arm at the flipping spear to send it flying to the side.

But right after he did that, he was immediately greeted by a sword which was zooming right in front of his face.

Shin took advantage of that time where Marcusʼ attention was distracted by Arthurʼs spear and immediately jumped in the battle by throwing a forward thrust at Marcusʼ face.

Shing!

Being caught off-guard, Marcus didnʼt have much time to gather his Natural Force to block that sword. So, all he could do was to block the sword by placing his other hand in front of his face to protect himself.

Puchi!

Since his arm was unprotected by his Nature Force, Shinʼs sword pierced through his hand. But fortunately, those actions managed to save his head from being pierced.

Or so he thought…

Swoosh!

Because right after Shinʼs sword pierced through his hand, a transparent and formless energy suddenly flew out from the tip of that sword and penetrated his head, leaving a hole in it.

ʼFour Symbol Scripture: Phoenixʼs Formless Featherʼ

Marcus was still alive after getting hit by that surprise attack. After all, he also possessed an evil power which made them practically immortal unless their cores were completely destroyed. But even if that was the case, he still expended a lot of energy just to recover himself from that attack.

He hid his core inside his head – and when Shinʼs formless energy strike pierced through his head, it managed to leave a slight damage on his core by slightly grazing it. But even if it was just a slight scratch, the amount of energy that leaked out from his core was still not something he could laugh about.

In the meantime, Shin was currently frowning his eyebrows while thinking to himself. ʼI missed it? Tsk! That was a waste.ʼ

Given that, Shin immediately pulled his sword back while spinning in the air. After that, he immediately kicked Marcusʼ hand to use it as a platform so that he could jump backwards and create some space between him and their enemies again.

At the same time, Arthur and Leonard did the same thing as him. And when they regrouped together, Arthur immediately complained. ”Bruh! Can you at least make right? Setting up that situation is not that easy, you know?”

”Tch! I know! But I think he managed to move his core in the very last minute,” said Shin while looking at their opponents who were also regrouping.

”So, what is the next plan?” asked Leonard while getting ready for another round.

”Those guys are surely going to be wary of our next move after that failed set up. How about we take a gamble this time and face them one-on-one?” said Shin while observing their opponents.

And after a slight pause, Shin immediately added. ”Those guys are still expecting us to fight them as a group. And I am sure that they are planning to separate us from each other.”

”So, how about we turn their plans against them and catch them off-guard by going along with their plan?”

He then took another pause while getting ready in action before adding a reminder. ”Just make sure you deal a destructive blow at them when you catch them off-guard once again.”

After that, he immediately sprinted forward, planning to lead the charge at this moment. ”Alright, follow my lead this time.”

Together with those words, Shin also left a bunch of afterimages behind while he was running forward. And when Arthur and Leonard saw that Shin executed his ʼAstral Stepsʼ, both of them immediately followed after him using their respective movement techniques, the ʼDragon Danceʼ and ʼDevilʼs Footprintsʼ.

And when the opposing side saw that, they immediately became even more wary because Shin was now leading the charge this time, which meant there were some changes in their strategy. Given that, they immediately went back in their battle formation, planning to receive what was about to come.
