Endless Winter: My Camp Upgrades Infinitely

Chapter 1693: Chapter 536: Reversal, The Consequence of Bargaining with a Tiger

“Don’t think you can stir our hearts; the Xia Army only has forty thousand men. How can they stop our one hundred and ten thousand strong forces? Brothers, keep charging!”

“Charge towards the city gate, the Xia Army is retreating; kill at the gate!”

“Don’t circle the central army, charge towards the city gate!”

……

Xia Hong’s persuasion did not cause any waves.

Qin Feng showed no response at all, including his underlings from Wuchuan, as well as all Wuchuan soldiers. They couldn’t see the situation clearly, seeing the great expanse of their own army, they believed victory was assured and continued charging forward.

Cai Qianshan, however, saw through the Xia Army’s intention of taking over, and angrily signaled the troops to charge towards the city gate. His son Cai Qiuhu, and Cai Qiu, along with others from the Tribulation Body Realm, quickly realized it too and shouted orders to the soldiers.

Unfortunately, despite their strong abilities, they had almost no influential power over the Jinshan and Wuchuan armies. So even though their thunderous voices clearly reached the ears of all soldiers present, very few paid attention.

“Quickly charge towards the city gate, block the Xia Army’s retreat, hurry…”

Of course, not all Jinshan Wuchuan leaders were fools. Some also realized the Xia Army’s intention and quickly issued orders to their troops to charge towards the city gate.

However, they were not core figures, so their call had no widespread effectiveness. It’s noteworthy that the battlefield outside Aikou City had over sixteen thousand fighters from both sides, spanning nearly three kilometers east to west. Even Landgrave Cai Qianshan, without using his blood power, had difficulty spreading his voice, not to mention these two town leaders, who only had Cold Resistance Level cultivation.

Their warning sounds made no splash and were quickly drowned.

“The army retreat, withdraw to the west and back into the city!”

For the Great Xia side, it was entirely different.

With Yuwen Dao leading the Great Xia generals to the rear of the military formation, severing the connection between Wuchuan and the Xia Army, Xia Hong, who had been overseeing the entire situation and had yet to act, issued orders to the entire army.

Cai Qianshan, alongside others, had no influence over the Jinshan and Wuchuan forces, but it was the opposite for Xia Hong.

At his command, all Xia Army soldiers, even those caught in life-and-death struggles, perked up their ears. Upon hearing the Lord’s orders, everyone simultaneously broke away from their battles and swiftly turned westward.

“All Flag Commanders, act according to the Lord’s orders!”

Influence was just one aspect; Great Xia’s military discipline and battle tactics were the true elements at play at this moment.

Flag Commanders from each county responded like thunder, swiftly wielding flags to retreat toward the west side, more than ten golden banners from various spots on the battlefield, gathering at Aikou City’s gate, strikingly visible in the night. Almost every soldier could see it clearly.

The Xia people’s first task upon joining the army was to recognize the military flag, because all Xia Army battle tactics centered around the flag.

The direction the flag pointed was the direction they were to attack.

With Xia Hong’s orders, coupled with the guidance of the military flags, the Xia Army soldiers, arrayed in a long dragon-like formation, immediately began their valiant retreat, rapidly closing in to form a long line, resisting enemy attacks from the north and south while swiftly withdrawing toward Aikou City.

“Roar…”

Of course, relying solely on military discipline and Xia Hong’s influence was not enough.

Twelve Beast Emperor-level Puppets, entangled by Cai Qiu, quickly withdrew from the battle, then suddenly descended from high altitude, protecting the rearguard of the Xia army.

With their protection, even the likes of Tribulation Body Realm folks like Cai Qianshan couldn’t do anything, let alone the soldiers from Jinshan and Wuchuan.

A squad of about several hundred Xia soldiers, perhaps having fought too fiercely just now, found themselves trapped by the Wuchuan army at the rear. However, they showed no fear. The leading officer led them to fight while retreating, noticing the nearby Beast Emperor-level puppets at the rear, a determined look flashing across his face.

“Brothers, what’s the point in retreating when we’ve not gotten enough military merit yet? Charge!”

The leading officer surprisingly did not retreat but charged as he wielded his blade, striking directly at the helmet of an enemy soldier. Under immense force, he split the soldier’s head vertically, with the blade’s fiery wave bursting out, consecutively destroying three Cold Resistance Level enemy soldiers behind them.

“Hahaha, I’ve killed seven, certainly not enough! Follow the Colonel, charge and keep killing!”

“The Colonel has joined the fight, what are you waiting for, brothers? Charge!”

“With the Lord’s puppet right behind, what is there to fear?”

……

A general is the soul of the soldiers. That officer’s reckless charge instantly ignited the bloodlust of the several hundred Great Xia soldiers behind. They were immersed in fighting, reluctantly retreating due to the Lord’s orders. Now there was someone to lead, each one acted as if injected with adrenaline, abandoning retreat to charge back.

Suddenly, a fierce wind blew down unexpectedly from above, halting their charging steps.

“Are your ears deaf? I told you to retreat!”

The fierce wind came followed by a giant shadow, and hundreds of soldiers intending to charge heard the voice and turned pale, not daring to lift their heads, rapidly turning to retreat.

The Lord has arrived!

Xia Hong stood atop the forehead of the Mystic Iron Eagle, behind him was Li Xuanling with two children. The family of four had fluttering sleeves, untouched by snow, resembling heavenly people, starkly contrasting with the brutal battlefield.

Rash advancement for greed of merit, disobeying military orders, this is not a good sign!

Xia Hong’s expression slightly dimmed, but upon looking carefully at the leading officer’s face below, a sense of understanding arose in his heart.

The leading officer was none other than Han Feng, who had been undercover in Jin Mountain for many years!
