Endless Winter: My Camp Upgrades Infinitely

Chapter 1656: Chapter 522: Public Execution, Wuchuan’s Last Stand (Part 3)

“Even with twenty thousand elite Xia Army troops, taking Wuchuan Town is still impossible. Lay siege to it first and cut off the supply lines of the fifty thousand troops stationed in East Valley; this war will end without a fight.”

Upon hearing Xia Hong’s words, Xia Chuan and the others were momentarily stunned before their expressions suddenly turned exhilarated.

Indeed!

Great Xia originally used the strategy of opening the supply lines to confuse the Northern Five Towns, and they all forgot that this tactic could be used against the Northern Five Towns.

The Xia Army needs supplies for combat; do the other towns not require them too?

The fifty thousand troops stationed by Qin Feng in East Valley consume an enormous amount of beast meat and grain each day, which must be transported continuously from the town.

The idea of capturing Wuchuan Town with just the twenty thousand elite Numbered Army of Great Xia is unrealistic, but blockading it isn’t that difficult.

If ample time passes and the supply of beast meat and grain is cut, the fifty thousand troops in East Valley will collapse without needing an assault.

“Lord, your plan is brilliant, I admire it!”

Xu Ning couldn’t help but praise directly with an immensely excited tone: “Lay siege to Wuchuan Town, and Wuchuan will have no way out. They’ll be forced to leave the town and battle Luo Yuan’s Central Army…”

“A decisive battle? How naive!”

Xia Hong interrupted Xu Ning directly, a smile appearing on his face.

Xu Ning was initially puzzled, but after thinking for a moment, his eyes suddenly lit up.

The fifty thousand troops of Qin Feng have already been completely immobilized!

Even if Wuchuan seeks a decisive battle with Luo Yuan, Luo Yuan won’t engage them.

Seeing Xu Ning’s expression, Xia Hong knew he had understood his intention, and with a smile, asked, “The Battle Formation Order Flags, you and Xiao Kangcheng each hold one, who are the other four?”

The Battle Formation Order Flag, a temporary battlefield position, was actually a thought provided by Xia Hong to Yuwen Dao. He was uncertain if there were other means of long-distance real-time communication in places like Ice Abyss, but Great Xia currently did not possess any.

Slow communication doesn’t matter much in normal times, but it’s problematic in battlefields, especially large-scale battles. If the two armies’ messages can’t be exchanged promptly, it can be fatal, possibly affecting the outcome of the war.

Individuals at the Xianyang Level of cultivation can not only control the sky but are much faster than those at the Cold Resistance Level, making them ideal for serving as battlefield communication personnel.

Previously, Xia Hong just mentioned it casually, and unexpectedly, Yuwen Dao, the Director of the Military Department, remembered it. For this Northern Expedition of Great Xia with four armies, he directly established the role of Battle Formation Order Flag.

In hindsight, choosing Yuwen Dao for the position of Director of the Military Department appears absolutely fitting.

Xu Ning, unaware of Xia Hong’s inner thoughts, responded directly: “The remaining four are Lin Kai, Qiu Peng, Xiang Wentian, and Murong Ping. Lin Kai and Xiang Wentian are in Yuwen Dao’s Right Route Army, Murong Ping in Luo Yuan’s Central Army, and Qiu Peng in Yuan Cheng’s Rear Army.”

Xia Hong nodded slightly and directly commanded, “Now go to Luo Yuan’s Central Army and inform him of the situation in Beishuo City. Also, tell him to keep a close watch on Qin Feng’s fifty thousand troops and thoroughly pin them down in East Valley City.”

“As you command!”

Xu Ning had already grasped Xia Hong’s intention, so there was no need for further explanation. After bowing, he immediately turned and flew south.

“Xiao Kangcheng, go to Yangqu Town and inform Yuan Cheng of the discussions I just had with Cai Qiuhu.”

Since Xia Hong intends to spare Cao Qianyang and others, he must uphold his word. Once Yuan Cheng receives the message, he will know what to do.

“I will go immediately!”

Xiao Kangcheng also bowed and then flew south.

“Alright, the conclusion of affairs in Beishuo City will be supervised by Yue Feng, I will not participate further. Xia Chuan, come with me to Jinshan Town.”

“As you command!”

Yue Feng bowed, raising his head to see Xia Hong already carrying Xia Yuyao and Xia Yusheng, flying southeast with Li Xuanling and Xia Chuan to Jinshan Town.

“It’s only been fifteen years! Beishuo has been destroyed by our Great Xia…”

As Xia Hong and the others’ figures disappeared completely, Yue Feng turned, taking in the increasingly silent Beishuo Town. His eyes showed a hint of nostalgia as he sighed.

He remembered clearly how arrogant Yang Ning and Li Hu were fifteen years ago when Great Xia was just established on Mud Slope and ventured into Redwood Ridge, speaking proudly of Beishuo Town and their Lord Yang Zhun, with a condescending attitude toward them…

In just fifteen short years, this so-called mighty Beishuo has been annihilated by Great Xia, soon to become nourishment for the dynasty.

As for their proclaimed Great Lord Yang Zhun…

Yue Feng turned, gazing at the scarcely breathing Yang Zhun on the ground, his eyes showing a cold sheen.

“Yuankun, bring Yang Fa and the other two Xianyang Level personnel over here. In one hour, gather everyone in the city at the ruins of the main hall. All four, including all Yang Family relatives, must be publicly executed before them.”

“Yes, Master!”

Li Yuankun, invigorated by these words, immediately led people to make arrangements.
