Endless Winter: My Camp Upgrades Infinitely

Chapter 446: Chapter 207: Improving Corvée Labor and Changes in Year 1 [Happy New Year!!!]

This undoubtedly also indirectly reflects the current abundance of resources in Great Xia.

After the Camp Supply Department finished speaking, it was the turn of the Harvesting Department.

Cheng Feng stepped out. After the merger of the gathering and logging departments, he took on the role of Director, while Bai Dongying became the Deputy Director.

“The camp’s 11,524 logging realm individuals have all registered with our department. However, our current primary task is no longer timber, but rather the fruits and various medicinal plant species across all regions within Great Xia Territory.

As of now, the Harvesting Department has identified and recorded a total of 78 species, including 19 types of trees, 34 types of medicinal herbs, 14 types of fruits, and 11 other resources of unknown purpose for the time being.

Once the growth cycles of medicinal herbs and fruits are understood, we organize regular harvesting. Trees with special uses are also reported to the Craftsmen Workshop, and we make specialized felling as necessary, with some stockpiles also accumulated for each type.”

Next came Mu Dong’s Craftsmen Department.

“Our department currently has 580 registered craftsmen, with 180 craftsmen at the Earth-digging Realm and 400 at the Logging Realm, overseeing four workshops: Forge, Alchemy Workshop, Xia Clothing Workshop, and Woodworking Workshop.

The Forge can currently craft weapons, covering the four types of Xia Blades, totaling 17 types, 39 types of iron tools, and 120 types of iron products;

The Alchemy Workshop can produce 18 types of Dan Medicine;

The Xia Clothing Workshop has 7 major categories of clothing styles, with 21 types of small items;

The Woodworking Workshop offers 42 types of furniture and 210 types of wooden products.”

After Mu Dong finished speaking, he stepped back, and Yuan Cheng stepped forward.

After the Pioneer Department was transformed into the Garrison Department, considering Shi Ping’s relatively weaker strength, he was appointed as the Deputy Director, with Yuan Cheng taking over as Director.

“The Garrison Department currently oversees only two stationed points, Jing Valley and Wuyuan. Last year’s achievements at these two points are well-known to everyone, so I won’t say much. In the new year, I hope that the leader and Minister can lead us to continue expanding our territories and establish more stationed points, so that having only two at present doesn’t seem too unremarkable…”

“Hahaha, Director Yuan thinks he has too few people under him.”

“Hahahaha, Old Yuan, you have quite the ambition!”

“Haha, to expand territories, Yuan Cheng, you need to take the lead yourself.”

………

As Yuan Cheng finished speaking, everyone in the hall laughed and joked humorously.

On the high platform, Xia Hong couldn’t help but smile and chuckle softly.

“Alright, alright, you may step down. Zhu Yuan, you continue!”

The last to speak was Zhu Yuan, the Director of the Civil Affairs Department.

Zhu Yuan stepped forward and said, “The Civil Affairs Department currently records a total population of 6,621. In the past four months, there have been 800 new households, aside from 241 newly married couples. The remaining 551 households are those who later joined the camp.

Within the valley, out of the 4,200 plots of land, a small portion has been sold, with residences already constructed. The remaining over 2,000 plots are expected to be sold within the next six months, and by then, it seems we’ll have to find a way to open up new lands!”

After the Directors of the Hunting, Camp Supply, Harvesting, Craftsmen, Garrison, and Civil Affairs Departments all spoke, the atmosphere in the hall became lively.

“Have we accomplished so much in a year?”

“I hadn’t even noticed there are over 2,000 houses in the valley!”

“The Camp Supply Department has so much stuff. Every time I go, I only stand at the entrance. Next time I must go inside and take a look; I’m guessing they’re running out of space!”

“Are there really that many types of weapons? Besides the four types of Xia Blades, I’ve only seen four or five different types.”

“There are over 200 types of wooden products, and I haven’t seen many of them.”

“Haha, don’t you have kids at home? My kid at home is always eyeing the wooden products in the Craftsmen Workshop, and there are many little things he keeps asking for, which gives me a headache when I go back.”

“There are so many types of clothes too, no wonder my wife is always wanting to buy new clothes.”

………

This is a classic example of being too close to the situation to see clearly. Among the more than a hundred people in the hall, at the very least, they are captains of hunting teams, currently some of the highest-ranking individuals in Great Xia.

Yet even they only have a partial understanding of the overall situation in Great Xia. If not for today’s gathering where Xia Hong assembled Xia Chuan and the Directors of the Six Departments to describe things overall, they likely would never have fully grasped the extent of development that Great Xia has unknowingly reached!

Everyone in the hall wore a hint of pride on their faces, and a feeling of unprecedented satisfaction and delight arose in their hearts.

After all, their efforts contributed to these achievements!

“Everyone, you have all worked hard this past year!”

Xia Hong’s voice made the expressions of more than a hundred people below immediately become restrained.

“Leader, we haven’t worked as hard as you.”

“Indeed, if it weren’t for the leader hunting so many Cold Beasts previously, we wouldn’t be where we are today. Among everyone in the camp, the leader has worked the hardest.”

“Four months ago, the leader hunted so many intermediate Cold Beasts for us to benefit from. With the freely shared beast blood, how could we have the face to talk about hard work?”

“Leader, don’t say that!”

……

Hearing the sincere rebuttals from those below, a warm feeling flowed through Xia Hong’s heart. He didn’t say much more, simply raised his wine cup with a smile and said, “Alright, you’ve worked hard, and I’ve worked hard, so let’s down this cup together. May our Great Xia reach new heights next year!”

More than a hundred people below raised their wine cups and immediately stood up.

“Long live the leader, long live Great Xia!”

“Well, may everyone here and Great Xia enjoy eternal prosperity!”

Xia Hong laughed heartily, leading over a hundred people to drink down the fine wine in their cups in one go!

The hall began to resonate with toasts and exchanges, and Xia Hong, as the leader, naturally couldn’t escape the host of people taking turns to toast him.

For the first Cold Element Festival, to mark the occasion, the Camp Supply Department brought out more than half of their aged wine storage, and almost everyone present at the hall received a pound of free aged wine.

Xia Hong, as the leader, enjoyed a bit of special treatment, with two jugs of aged wine and one jug of Blood Cold Wine placed on his table.

As the atmosphere in the hall gradually reached its peak, Xia Hong took advantage of a moment when no one was toasting to quietly open his system page.
