Endless Winter: My Camp Upgrades Infinitely

Chapter 432: Chapter 203: Shock, Prisoner Rules, and What Constitutes Guilt? (Part 2)

………

“5,321 people; 124 captives from the Earth-digging Realm, 821 from the Logging Realm, and the remaining over 4,000 are all ordinary people.”

Lu Yang reported the situation of the four camps, and everyone around immediately smiled.

Lin Kai, looking excited, said, “In the past six months, there have been six integrated camps, only two medium-sized, and the other four are small camps with a total population of less than 4,000. This time, we have over 5,000 people, and so many from the Earth-digging Realm. Minister will be very happy when he finds out…”

Thinking of something, his tone paused, and he continued:

“Hehe, the key is, our leader is about to come out too!”

Upon hearing that the leader will be out, Xu Ning, Lu Yang, Xu An, and a few others nearby all smiled.

Lu Yang glanced around at the 5,000 people in the wooden cabin, his face slightly serious, and said, “These people indeed gathered together, ready to make a move against us. Since that’s the case, we can’t directly give them Great Xia identity.”

Everyone nodded in agreement upon hearing this.

Xu Ning pointed to the front row of the crowd at Wang Lie and the many Earth-digging Realm people behind him, laughing, “This man is the main culprit, stubborn even at the brink of death. He can’t escape two years of forced labor. Those behind him, less than a year of forced labor at the least. By tomorrow night, when we return to the station, report the situation to the Camp Supply Department and let them handle it.”

Upon hearing the term forced labor, Lin Kai and Lu Yang’s faces were full of regret.

“It’s a pity they were encountered by your Black Arrow Team. 124 captives, a year of forced labor, tsk tsk… Black Arrow Team won’t have to worry about coal and iron quotas for the next few years. How come we weren’t the ones to encounter them…”

After Lin Kai finished, he thought of something, approached Xu Ning and smiled:

“Share a few with us, our team doesn’t have enough hunting time, where would we find time for mining, Xu Zi, share a few with me, how about it?”

Upon hearing, Lu Yang immediately echoed, “Yes, yes, our East Sun Team doesn’t have enough hunting time either, Old Xu, share a few with me!”

“Hahahahaha……”

Upon hearing the request from both, Xu Ning was in a great mood and laughed heartily before saying, “You want them? If you want them, you have to buy them with Contribution Value. One captive costs 15,000 points, how about it?”

Upon hearing the price, Lu Yang immediately looked up at Xu Ning, “That’s too high, make it cheaper…”

Lu Yang, working in the Camp Supply Department, was in charge of coal and iron mining in Wuyuan and transactions with other camps, so he was most sensitive to these numbers and figured it out instantly that it wasn’t worth it.

But Lin Kai couldn’t, he calculated a little slower.

After realizing it, he also quickly shouted it was too expensive, calling Xu Ning dark-hearted.

A year of forced labor, calculated by the mining amount using the Chewing Teeth Chisel for the Earth-digging Realm, is 400 pounds a day, which is 40 points of Contribution Value, 360 days is 14,400 points.

Xu Ning actually quoted 15,000, no wonder they called it too dark.

“Dark? Then I’m not letting go, wasn’t planning to anyway. With over a hundred captives, our team won’t need to mine for at least four to five years in the future. With so much extra time, I can hunt so many Cold Beasts, hahaha……”

Seeing Xu Ning’s cheeky look, Lu Yang and Lin Kai knew he wasn’t planning to share at all, his intentions clear, making them grit their teeth in hatred.

“No way, no way, gotta quickly find a new camp, must encounter some unwise ones, as soon as a wave of Earth-digging Realm captives come, our entire team can be freed from mining for years……”

Upon hearing Lin Kai, Lu Yang nodded in agreement, eyes full of desire.

The captive rules were newly formulated by Xia Chuan two months ago.

Two months ago, Yue Feng’s Mountain River Team, to the north of Mirror Valley, also in Pingxi Plain, discovered two new medium-sized camps.

The hunting teams from these camps coveted the weapons in the hands of three solitary members of the Mountain River Team and even joined forces to make a move against them.

Although the opponent was numerous, fortunately, those three had rich wilderness experience, and they eventually managed to escape back to Mirror Valley.

At that time, Yue Feng’s Mountain River Team had just been promoted to Intermediate, encountering such a group of unwise people, their reaction was predictable.

The two camps naturally were integrated into Great Xia.

But the integration method was different from before.

The captive rules were formulated by Xia Chuan then, with the overall principle that anyone who makes a move against Great Xia members should be criminalized.

The so-called captive rules mean entering the camp as captives, they must serve forced labor, and the duration of service varies based on the severity of the crime, with a maximum of lifetime and a minimum of half a year.

After completing forced labor, one can obtain formal identity as a member of Great Xia Camp.

All camps that actively make a move against Great Xia are subject to this rule.

Actually, the first camps to use this rule were the three tiger and Tongling of Five Ape Mountain.

Back then, Liu Dahu was stubbornly ignorant, his two brothers also refused to act until confronted, and after Xia Chuan’s investigation, found out that Liu Dahu and Meng Yuan had made a move against Xia Hong, and sentenced four people directly to lifetime forced labor. These four are still in the dark mining caves, probably never getting out in their lifetime.

Later, to use this rule as incentive, Xia Chuan also advocated that the hunting team that captured the captives would own them, and the mining of coal and iron by the captives during forced labor could be used to meet the monthly quotas required by the hunting team.

The two camps north of Mirror Valley were both settled by the Mountain River Team, with over fifty Earth-digging Realm captives naturally belonging to them.
