Endless Winter: My Camp Upgrades Infinitely

Since that’s the case, we can proceed to the next step.

Xia Chuan looked at everyone and spoke loudly:

“Alright, with everyone’s support, I can be at ease…”

After saying this, he paused before continuing:

“Pioneering is ultimately too dangerous and not suitable for too many people at once, so I propose to create a Pioneer Department, in addition to the existing five departments.

The Pioneer Department will be in charge of all camp expansion matters, including but not limited to, exploring surrounding areas, mapping the Da Xia Map, and searching for other human settlements…

The department will initially recruit thirty people, and their contribution value will be calculated separately, with all resources provided by the Camp Supply Station for free.”

Another new department is to be established.

Pioneer Department!

As Xia Chuan finished speaking, everyone was silent for a moment.

Soon, a few highly perceptive individuals quickly vied to speak up.

“I want to join the Pioneer Department.”

“I want to join too.”

“Lord Xia Chuan, I want to join.”

…

In no time, forget thirty, there were probably one or two hundred people speaking up.

Seeing the scramble among the crowd, a smile instantly appeared on Xia Chuan’s face.

Last night, he was worried that if nobody wanted to join, he’d have to pick people himself.

But now, it seemed he was overthinking it.

The reason these people were so eager, supporting Xia Hong’s decision to expand, was partly due to this, but Xia Chuan saw another clear reason.

Obviously, many people were eyeing the leadership position in the Pioneer Department.

Indeed, although Great Xia currently has only over a thousand people, the status hierarchy has become very clear.

The Hunting Team is the first tier;

The heads of the five departments are considered the second tier;

Below them, the members of the five departments are the third tier;

The fourth tier is comprised of those ordinary people who haven’t broken through to the Logging Realm yet.

My elder brother had previously mentioned that an appropriate difference in social status can serve as a motivator, and it turns out to be true.

“Lord, I also want to join the Pioneer Department!”

Standing next to Xia Chuan, Shi Ping couldn’t help but speak up.

Xia Chuan’s expression froze for a moment, showing some reluctance.

To be fair, Shi Ping is very thorough and meticulous in his work, with strong management skills, and has been quite helpful at the Camp Supply Station.

In contrast, Yuan Cheng, who was also appointed as a Camp Supply Officer alongside him by Xia Hong, barely visits the Camp Supply Station.

Of course, Yuan Cheng himself is not interested in the affairs of the Camp Supply Station, and lacking an aptitude for material data, over time, he didn’t want to come, so Xia Chuan simply let it be.

But seeing the eagerness in Shi Ping’s eyes, Xia Chuan suppressed his reluctance, neither agreeing nor refusing, he just nodded and then looked at everyone:

“Pioneering is different from collecting or logging, with a lot of unknowns and more dangers; quick reaction and strength are indispensable.

Since so many of you want to join, there will be a fair selection like the one for the Hunting Team members before, fighting against the wooden mannequin; the thirty who can last the longest will join the Pioneer Department!”

Roar…

As soon as Xia Chuan finished, a beast roar immediately sounded behind him.

Many people shuddered, with a few members of the Hunting Team having their expressions change drastically, unable to resist drawing their knives and standing up.

“It’s okay!”

However, Xia Chuan remained calm, soothing everyone with a single sentence, then turned to look at Snow Mane behind him, a smile appearing on his face.

“Pioneer Department, great, let’s begin the selection tonight!”

Xia Hong’s broad voice suddenly came from upstairs.

Although he hadn’t appeared, his voice echoed on the second floor, like that of a deity.

Everyone looked up towards the third floor above, their eyes filled with wonder.

Indeed, the elder brother had been listening upstairs all along.

Hearing Xia Hong’s approval of the Pioneer Department, Xia Chuan’s smile widened, nodding emphatically towards the third floor, saying, “Yes, leader!”

“All outdoor activities in the camp can proceed normally, but the logging team and collection team can only operate in the midsection and southern part of Redwood Ridge.”

Hearing they could go out, everyone instantly beamed with joy.

For the past six days, staying in the valley cabin had really stifled them.

“Additionally, Hunting Team, you have half an hour to prepare, go!”

Xia Chuan, Luo Yuan, and the other seventeen members of the Hunting Team, hearing these words, knew Xia Hong was taking them out, and couldn’t help but feel repeatedly joyful; they immediately stood up from their chairs, nodding and complying: “Yes, leader!”

After nodding in agreement, the Hunting Team members dispersed, each quickly heading to the third floor to their rooms to pack their things.

“Shi Ping, you will be responsible for tonight’s selection.”

“Yes, Lord!”

After finishing speaking, Xia Chuan also headed directly to the third floor.

…

“Xia Chuan, you are managing increasingly adeptly!”

On the third floor, Xia Hong sat alone in his room, a hint of admiration on his face.

From the ultra-high contribution value rewards set last night, to the probing of tonight, to the final announcement of the decision and the idea of establishing the Pioneer Department, they all show that Xia Chuan’s capabilities have surpassed being merely a Camp Supply Officer.

He well knows the difficulty of pioneering, but population expansion is imperative.

Without sufficient Earth-digging Realm members, the Logging Realm ones must step up for now.

Xia Hong’s intent was to use his influence and prestige to forcibly advance the camp expansion.

But regardless of how good the idea is, it requires people to execute it.

From last night until now, he hadn’t exchanged a single word with Xia Chuan, nor given any opinion, just to see how Xia Chuan would push this matter forward.

Ultra-high contribution value rewards;

Using probing to dispel the fears in everyone’s minds;
