Endless Winter: My Camp Upgrades Infinitely

“That Ice Tree, isn’t it the one we encountered last time?”

Xia Hong spoke up, prompting everyone to remember.

“That’s right, it’s the same one.

I remember that Ice Tree was huge, with the ground around it appearing fluid, like a golden swamp.”

“I remember too; the Crystal Fruit on that Ice Tree weighed at least ten thousand or twenty thousand pounds.

The leader even tried to dig the ground but couldn’t manage it.”

…

“Let’s go take a look first!”

Hearing the team’s words, Xia Hong also confirmed that it was indeed the giant Ice Tree they discovered last time.

He didn’t hesitate and led the group forward.

Rumble…

As they got closer, the sound of the thunder became increasingly clear.

Everyone, including Xia Hong, felt a slight trepidation.

This had nothing to do with courage; humans inherently hold a deep-seated awe for natural phenomena like thunder and lightning, especially when they are only a few dozen meters away.

“Let’s climb the tree first and see what’s going on!”

When they were within just over forty meters of the Ice Tree, Xia Hong felt something was wrong.

He stopped and then called everyone to follow him and climb a nearby large tree.

At the top of the tall tree, about fifty to sixty meters high, Xia Hong, the first to climb up, looked towards the edge of the Ice Tree and was suddenly stunned.

The others who climbed up after him did the same, and after looking up, their expressions froze.

In the swampy area beside the Ice Tree lay a giant Cold Beast, about ten meters in length, resembling a rhino.

Its body was a pale gold color, with eyes as large as lanterns, and it had a three-meter long, black upward-pointing horn on its head.

Even though its limbs were reclined, one could easily estimate their diameter was over a meter, impressively robust with knotted muscles, emanating an intimidating strength just by looking.

The thunder above the Ice Tree wasn’t targeting the swamp.

Instead, it struck right at the horn on the head of the Cold Beast.

Crack…

Every time a thunderbolt landed, arcs of lightning streaked from the Cold Beast’s horn, spreading backward, and coursed through its entire skin.

Its skin was already a pale golden color, but as the arcs moved across it, the hue became more textured and progressively deeper, clearly evolving toward a pure gold appearance.

“Golden Armored Kui Bull?”

“Golden Armored Kui Bull?”

…

Upon seeing the Cold Beast’s appearance clearly, several members of the hunting team exclaimed in surprise, clearly recognizing this beast.

“A low-level Kui Bull has a yellowish hide and isn’t this large in size.

This should be an Intermediate Kui Bull.

Unexpectedly, we encountered an Intermediate one before even hunting a low-level Kui Bull.”

Xia Chuan took out a scroll of Beast Skin from his pocket, the cover inscribed with “Great Xia Cold Beast Record”.

After leafing through to the Golden Armored Kui Bull page and comparing it with the present Cold Beast, he immediately made a decision.

The Great Xia Cold Beast Record, compiled based on the Cold Beast Scroll left by Luo Ming, only records a limited total variety of Cold Beasts, including Bone Spur Frost Wolf, Long-tongue Snow Mane, Golden-eyed Demon Sheep, Blue Moon Elf, Cloud Mist Teng Jiao, Golden Armored Thunder Kui, and Long-tailed Rodent, seven types in total.

All seven types of Cold Beasts certainly have Intermediate forms, but the Great Xia has only successfully hunted the Intermediate Snow Mane active; they have interacted with Intermediate rodents, and have seen Intermediate Teng Jiao and Demon Sheep in person;

Only with the Kui Bull, they’ve not successfully hunted even a low-level one yet.

Today marks the first time seeing an Intermediate one, too.

Xia Chuan takes the compilation of the Cold Beast Record very seriously.

Only after successfully hunting and accurately understanding the beasts’ weaknesses and habits does he add them to the record.

Therefore, until now, the Great Xia Cold Beast Record only lists these eight types, including the addition of the Intermediate Snow Mane.

“Should we give it a try?”

“I think we can.

This Kui Bull’s hide looks really tough, even withstanding thunder, seeming like a defensive type of Cold Beast, potentially not very strong in attack.”

“Its pale gold hide could probably be used as armor.

We’re just in need of armor, so it’s worth trying.”

“I also think it’s worth a try!”

……

“What kind of daydreaming are you all doing?

You haven’t hunted even low-level Kui Bulls, yet you’re eyeing an Intermediate one?

Wake up, let’s move on and continue looking for the Snow Mane.

About the Kui Bull, we’ll talk about it later!”

Xia Hong interrupted the group’s suggestions, immediately shaking his head.

It’s said that ignorance leads to overconfidence, and although they had hunted the Intermediate Snow Mane, he still couldn’t ensure a hundred percent success.

This Kui Bull, capable of conjuring thunder, was even more formidable.

This Kui Bull is clearly using lightning to temper its body.

And this scene also proved that its strength surpasses that of the Snow Mane.

Not only is it tempering its body with thunder, but even the Demon Sheep can’t compare to it.

Since they have no idea about low-level Thunder Kui yet, thinking about tackling an Intermediate one is clearly a suicidal path.

It seems the hunts have been going too smoothly lately, and this hunting team has started getting a bit carried away!

Xia Hong glanced sideways at the Thunder Kui, slightly furrowing his brows.

The swamp beside the tree was likely the Thunder Kui’s habitat.

Its golden fluid appearance must have resulted from the Thunder Kui residing there for a long time.
