Forcing Me to Be a Godly Tycoon, Right?

Chapter 763: Chapter 322: He Even Dared to Take Advantage of Her! (Supersized Chapter)

”Three years!?” Ye Jinyan once again felt Zhang Jingdong’s craziness: ”Why?”

”It’s simple, because Ebay is not only a foreign company, but also its website in Huaxia is almost identical to its global site.”

Zhang Jingdong suddenly remembered something: ”Have you heard the joke that when Hawking came to teach at Huaxia University, he had to first learn how to toast?”

”What I mean is that Huaxia is the most unique market in the world. Any foreign company, no matter what it’s doing, must learn to adapt to our culture and customs to survive here.”

”For instance, KFC, a burger seller, must offer soy milk and fried dough sticks here, and its burgers must be adjusted to suit the taste preferences of Huaxia people.”

”As for Ebay, it was okay when it first arrived because it knew how to cater to us, but now, after their redesign, especially after they started charging, they’re doomed not to last long.”

”Let me put it this way, in the current domestic internet market, offering people free burgers to get them to register as members of your company is fine, but if you become a member and want them to pay, you’re basically alienating the public.”

”And that’s exactly what Ebay did, and their foreign executives still don’t see the fatality of this issue. If they were to change, it would take at least half a year due to their bloated decision-making process, and that’s more than enough time for Ali.”

”The final point, and the most important one, is that the domestic internet is destined to trigger a new economic wave, so Huaxia’s higher-ups would never allow a foreign internet company to run rampant here.”

At this, Zhang Jingdong reclined in his chair, putting on an exaggeratedly profound expression: ”And as long as Taobao defeats Ebay, then Ali will essentially be on a rocket, and it will undoubtedly soar to new heights!”

”Even at their current growth rate, the company’s annual revenue will be astronomical.”

”Moreover, in the internet world, when you’re powerful enough, you can extend your influence to various areas, like entertainment and social media.”

”By then, Ali is very likely to become a giant in the Huaxia internet industry, and remember, Huaxia has over a billion people. Even with just 800 million netizens, our internet market would still be worth trillions.”

”Let’s be conservative, even if Ali captures just ten percent, imagine what our shares would be worth then—you can do the math.”

Ye Jinyan’s eyes were blazing with passion and excitement, clearly ignited by Zhang Jingdong’s words!

She was utterly taken aback, deeply impressed by Zhang Jingdong’s insight and long-term vision!

Although Ye Jinyan had thought of some of these issues before, she hadn’t been as certain or as comprehensive as he was.

Honestly speaking, it’s the first time in all her years in business that Ye Jinyan has met someone quite like Zhang Jingdong.

He is not only younger than her but also wealthier, having earned his money through his own capabilities. Most crucially, his understanding surpasses hers.

This means he’ll likely make even more money than she will in the future.

After all, one cannot earn money beyond their scope of understanding. Simply put, the higher one’s level of understanding, the more wealth one can accumulate in the future.

But she didn’t feel any envy, only admiration.

She also thought of another saying, that when you find someone better than yourself, the wisest choice is to partner with them because they will lead you to greater heights.

So Ye Jinyan cheerfully said, ”Alright, since you’re so optimistic about Ali, I will go all out to invest the remaining 50 million US Dollars to hopefully secure 20% of their shares.”

”Additionally...” Ye Jinyan suddenly blinked her beautiful eyes, ”If I manage to negotiate this, I don’t want a cash bonus from you; I’d prefer to take 1% of the shares.”

Zhang Jingdong laughed heartily: ”Are you sure? That’s 20 million in cash.”

Ye Jinyan nodded decisively: ”I’m sure.”

”Why? Just because I’m so optimistic about Alibaba?”

”No, it’s because I’m willing to share the risk with you. After all, it’s such a big investment. I can’t take cash and leave you with all the risk.”

Zhang Jingdong couldn’t help but tease, ”I don’t mind, and I’m willing to increase the cash to 30 million and give you another chance to choose.”

Ye Jinyan’s eyes flashed with cunning, ”Even if you raise it to 50 million, I’d still choose the 1% shares. It’s a fundamental principle for me as an investor.”

Zhang Jingdong laughed out loud, ”Alright, you really are a qualified partner! But I assure you, in no more than five years, you will be thankful for today’s decision!”

Ye Jinyan pursed her lips, ”Are you always this confident?”

Zhang Jingdong smiled easily, ”Confidence comes from strength and the courage to accept failure.”

”We’ll sign the contract tomorrow. I’ll transfer 100 million to you first. Once you settle everything with Ali, I’ll transfer the rest immediately.”

At this point, Zhang Jingdong extended his hand to Ye Jinyan again, ”Looking forward to a pleasant partnership and may we always agree heroically on every future investment project!”

Ye Jinyan noticed that Zhang Jingdong’s gesture was somewhat deliberate, almost as if he was trying to take advantage of her.

But on one hand, Zhang Jingdong agreed to cooperate with her, and it wasn’t just 100 million; it was over 300 million.

On the other hand, his last words struck a chord with her.

So she actually reached out to shake hands with Zhang Jingdong!

”Congratulations, Host, on successfully making physical contact with the target character. Reward: 10,000 yuan!”

The two held their handshake for several seconds.

Just as Ye Jinyan thought it was time to pull her hand back, she realized that Zhang Jingdong wasn’t letting go!

As she was about to get angry, Zhang Jingdong suddenly said with a serious face, ”I may not have dealt with Ma Yun personally, but I’ve heard he’s quite the character. Also, since Softbank Group is still involved in this funding, it’ll surely be a tough negotiation.”

”When you formally negotiate with them, if they refuse to let us invest 50 million US Dollars for that amount of shares, call me immediately. We’ll negotiate with him together; I have a way to make them accept.”

Ye Jinyan was instantly curious, ”What do you have in mind?”

Zhang Jingdong replied mysteriously, ”I can’t say yet; you’ll find out then!”

”Hmph...” Ye Jinyan unexpectedly showed a rare hint of shyness, ”If you have such a great strategy, why don’t you handle the negotiations yourself?”

Zhang Jingdong sighed, ”If I went myself, it would be pointless. They know who I am!”

”At best, I can just take advantage of your status as the famous Miss Ye, oh no, fly under false colors...”

Ye Jinyan retorted annoyed, ”What are you talking about?”

Zhang Jingdong smiled as he slapped his own left hand jokingly, and continued, ”In any case, I’ll trade on your reputation as Miss Ye to establish contact with them, then unleash my unbeatable tactics. Together, our dual swordsmanship will be invincible in the world!”

Ye Jinyan finally understood Zhang Jingdong’s meaning.

But for some reason, maybe because of the term ”dual swordsmanship,” she suddenly felt an inexplicable shyness.

And at that moment, she realized Zhang Jingdong still hadn’t let go of her hand, causing her to blush instantly.
