Forcing Me to Be a Godly Tycoon, Right?

Chapter 760: Chapter 321: The Two of Them Are Simply Too Good at This!

Ye Jinyan paused for a moment, gradually regaining her usual composure.

”I am Ye Zhinan’s cousin.”

Zhang Jingdong thought to himself, so she’s his cousin, and immediately extended his hand to her, saying, ”So you’re Zhinan’s cousin, my apologies for the oversight!”

”I’m really good friends with Zhinan, so if you’re his cousin, that makes you my cousin too. Cousin, I apologize for just now, I was too abrupt!”

Ye Jinyan couldn’t help but look a bit skeptical, ”No, Zhang Jingdong, you won a project worth billions from my cousin at the firing range and took the woman he’s been pursuing. How can you have the nerve to say you’re good friends with him? Isn’t that too much?”

Zhang Jingdong replied naturally, ”Cousin, you may not know this, but Zhinan and I only got to know each other through competition. Even though we’ve competed against each other, there’s a saying that goes, ’heroes cherish heroes.’

”It’s precisely because we competed fiercely that we understand each other’s true capabilities better than anyone else. I don’t know his stance, but in my heart, I’ve always considered him a true friend!”

Ye Jinyan was a bit surprised but also a bit impressed.

Because she felt that Zhang Jingdong’s words had a lot of perspective.

So she nodded thoughtfully, ”Alright, what you said makes some sense, but... you can’t call me cousin, that’s not proper.”

Zhang Jingdong nodded decisively, ”Okay, then I’ll call you Mr. Ye from now on.”

”Mr. Ye, what line of work are you in?”

Maybe it was because Zhang Jingdong’s demeanor finally had a bit of a corporate company boss vibe, Ye Jinyan was slightly surprised, then calmly replied, ”Venture capital.”

”Venture capital!?” Zhang Jingdong’s face was filled with astonishment, ”No wonder you seem so meticulous, turns out you’re in venture capital!”

”What I’m curious about is, does your company currently need funding?”

Ye Jinyan was once again a bit behind Zhang Jingdong’s thought process. After a pause, she replied, ”Of course, venture capital firms always need funding, but our company is very strict about the sources of our funds.”

”Why, are you considering investing in our company?”

Zhang Jingdong nodded seriously, ”Yes, our company currently has a lot of idle funds and hasn’t found a suitable investment project. Most importantly, I trust your judgment and feel that entrusting the funds to you should yield a good return.”

Ye Jinyan immediately shook her head, ”Mr. Zhang, what you’re saying is incorrect. No matter who it is or what project they’re investing in, there will always be profits and losses. There are no guaranteed to be profitable projects, nor are there investors who always make money.”

”I understand that, however...”

At this point, Zhang Jingdong straightforwardly stared at Ye Jinyan’s pretty face, ”Though I’m average at doing business, I’ve always had a good eye for people. Until now, I haven’t lost money because of misjudging people, which is why I trust my judgment this time.”

Ye Jinyan felt his words seemed somewhat off, but had no way to argue, so she shifted topics, ”How much are you planning to invest?”

Zhang Jingdong reacted with a question, ”How much do I need to invest to appropriately be involved in deciding which specific projects you invest in?”

Ye Jinyan replied with significance, ”Even before investing, you want to participate in decision-making about which projects to invest in. This clearly shows you don’t fully trust our judgment. If that’s the case, you might as well find investment projects on your own.”

Zhang Jingdong shook his head with a smile, ”Participating in decision-making doesn’t mean I don’t trust you. I just want to contribute some ideas during your decision-making discussions.”

”Not to brag, but I currently have exposure to quite a few industries. So I do have some insights about the future prospects of certain industries in Huaxia.”

Ye Jinyan’s eyes now showed a bit of doubt.

”So this further proves that you can completely find projects to invest in by yourself. So why do you still want to invest in our company?”

Zhang Jingdong heard the implication in Ye Jinyan’s words, and immediately said, ”Mr. Ye, don’t worry, I’m investing in your company not because I’m pursuing you. I’m very clear on separating business and romance!”

At this point, he noticed the anger in Ye Jinyan’s eyes, so he continued, ”The reason I’m investing in your company is because I know that some quality projects won’t want my money even if I want to invest. Only by giving the money to you do I have a chance to participate in those quality project investments.”

Although Ye Jinyan was a bit angry, firstly she did feel just now that the reason Zhang Jingdong was investing in her company was out of ill intentions toward her.

Secondly, at this moment she felt Zhang Jingdong’s reason for investing in her company was sound because their company’s biggest advantage is being able to invest in projects that other investment companies can’t.

So she had no choice but to continue the earlier conversation, ”In our company, if you want to participate in project decision-making, you have to invest at least 30 million.”

Zhang Jingdong nodded promptly, ”Fine, I’ll invest 100 million!”

”Wh-what!?”

Even though Ye Jinyan herself had net assets exceeding hundreds of millions already, and she’s spent vast amounts of money, still, hearing this number solidly shocked her.

Firstly, around the year 2000, due to the global internet bubble, many venture capital companies lost a lot of money, with some really big venture capital companies even going bankrupt consecutively.

After recovering for two years, uncontrollable events occurred domestically, causing more losses for her company.

In the past year or so, she initially used her own funds to acquire the previous company, and as the company head, her biggest task was fundraising.

However, people have been very cautious about investments due to unclear domestic situations,

Even though Ye Jinyan had the Ye family as backing, she only managed to raise less than 50 million in the past six months.

For some small investment companies, this would be considered quite an achievement, but for her, it was far from enough.

Because she’s recently wanted to invest in what she sees as a very promising project, and to participate in this project, she needs to invest at least 20 million, not in Huaxia Coin, but in US Dollars.

So her current funding gap is nearly 100 million.

To bridge this 100 million gap, she’s been flying around the country for over a month, meeting at least twenty investors.

She even attended dinners she used to hate, but in the end, she didn’t secure a single cent.

This time she went to Changsha hoping to meet more investors, thinking if she couldn’t get the investment again, she’d seek help from her family, but that’s something she always dreaded to do.

Unexpectedly, on this flight, she encountered Zhang Jingdong, who is now proposing an investment of 100 million!

She suddenly felt the gloomy clouds that had lingered in her mind for over a month had completely dissipated!

She even suddenly found that besides being handsome, Zhang Jingdong seemed to have quite good judgment and a lot of boldness, becoming less annoying.
