Forcing Me to Be a Godly Tycoon, Right?

Chapter 762: Chapter 322: How Dare You Take Advantage of Her! (Supersized Chapter)

”Moreover, our Taobao store is currently one of the hottest and most profitable shops on the entire website. On average, our store’s daily sales can reach seven to eight hundred thousand, accounting for about 40% of our total sales.”

Ye Jinyan never expected that Zhang Jingdong actually had such a cooperative relationship with Alibaba, nor did she imagine Zhang Jingdong owned a clothing company. Moreover, the scale of his clothing company was surprisingly large, with daily sales reaching 2 million.

Based on a typical profit margin of 30% in the clothing industry, the daily profit for his clothing company is 600,000, which is 18 million a month, making it a very impressive cash flow.

No wonder he can easily come up with a hundred million in cash.

Thinking about this, Ye Jinyan became even more confident about the possibility of their cooperation.

She then said, ”I see, so what do you think about their company’s prospects, Mr. Zhang?”

Zhang Jingdong stared at Ye Jinyan with a burning gaze: ”Honestly, I think their company is the most promising in Huaxia over the next decade.”

Upon hearing this, Ye Jinyan suddenly felt a surge of excitement, like the agreement between heroes.

Because she had similar thoughts.

This is also why she started frantically seeking money soon after hearing Alibaba was entering a new round of financing.

Moreover, she felt Zhang Jingdong seemed even more determined than herself, despite her strong belief in Alibaba’s potential, she still harbored some doubts.

But seeing Zhang Jingdong’s tone and gaze at this time, he was as certain as Xiang Shaolong in The Chronicles of Qin determined that Ying Zheng would become Qin Shi Huang, believing in Ali’s ascent.

Thus, her gaze at Zhang Jingdong unconsciously took on a touch of admiration.

Seizing the chance, she asked, ”Are you now willing to cooperate with our company?”

Zhang Jingdong deliberately answered indirectly, ”How much is Ali willing to accept from your investment?”

Ye Jinyan picked up on Zhang Jingdong’s implication, and with suppressed excitement said, ”The scale of their current financing is one hundred million US dollars, of which 50 million should already be negotiated, including Softbank’s 30 million, Goldman Sachs’s 20 million, and my negotiation of 20 million, which will bring 13% equity.”

Hearing this, Zhang Jingdong’s heart was instantly stirred: ”Well, go and talk with them again, we’ll invest the remaining 50 million US dollars, we only want 20% equity.”

”If you can close this deal, I’ll give you 1% equity or a 20 million cash reward.”

Ye Jinyan was once again taken aback!

On one hand, she was stunned by Zhang Jingdong’s boldness. Although she sensed his genuine optimism about Alibaba’s future, she never expected he would now dare invest more than 300 million cash into them.

After all, although Alibaba is showing early signs of prominence these days, it currently only has Taobao and recently launched Alipay, with many of its future thriving businesses yet to unfold.

In fact, Alibaba’s financing in the previous life didn’t go smoothly due to the internet bubble just subsiding, and the current e-commerce leader in China being eBay.

Though Taobao is developing rapidly under Alibaba, eBay still holds over 80% of China’s e-commerce market share, leaving Alibaba as a regional player at most.

This round of financing initially sought to raise 100 million US dollars but eventually managed just under 80 million after much effort.

On the other hand, Ye Jinyan was also astonished once again by Zhang Jingdong’s financial might.

Initially, she had some doubts about whether Zhang Jingdong could really produce a billion cash, but after learning about his clothing company’s profitability, she was convinced of his capability.

Yet now, Zhang Jingdong suddenly stated he would invest 50 million US dollars, equivalent to over 300 million Huaxia Coin, which was indeed intimidating!

Despite being born into a distinguished family, Ye Jinyan had seen and spent large sums before, like the more than 500 million she spent acquiring her current investment firm.

But because of this, she only became more aware of the vastness of Zhang Jingdong’s capabilities.

To say no more, him casually coming up with over 3 billion in cash signifies he must possess at least tens of billions worth of assets.

Ye Jinyan, too, currently has assets worth tens of billions, but to be honest, she couldn’t produce even a billion in cash since those billions are inherited rights, impossible to liquidate short-term.

Whereas Zhang Jingdong’s tens of billions of assets are self-earned, allowing him the freedom to spend as he pleases, truly making him a billionaire.

Especially since he’s now in his early twenties yet has already amassed such a fortune.

Reflecting on this, Ye Jinyan, the publicly deemed most promising heir of the Ye family, first felt a sense of inadequacy.

However, despite admiration, she still hesitated: ”Why are you so optimistic about Alibaba?”

Zhang Jingdong knew that without revealing some key insights, investing so much in Alibaba seemed overly abnormal.

So he replied, ”Before answering your question, I’d like to ask you: who do you think will become the future leader of Huaxia’s e-commerce websites, Taobao or eBay?”

Ye Jinyan hesitated for over half a minute before replying, ”Although eBay is currently the leader, I think Taobao will definitely defeat it in the future, though the process will be rather tough and prolonged. Yet I believe Taobao will triumph over eBay in less than ten years.”

Zhang Jingdong smiled and shook his head, ”You’re too pessimistic, I believe their battle will take no more than three years to clarify, by then Taobao will undoubtedly become the leader among Huaxia’s e-commerce websites.”
