Forcing Me to Be a Godly Tycoon, Right?

Chapter 751: Chapter 318: Honey, Your Request Is Just Too Much...

Zhang Jingdong casually said, ”I’ll send you a list tomorrow. The most important thing is that we can’t just focus on those who are favorites to win the championship.”

”Firstly, most of them performed well in the last Olympics. But based on past experiences, the peak performance period for top athletes is just five to six years. So, they won gold in the last Olympics, making it less likely they’ll win again this time.”

”Secondly, their current exposure is quite high, which means their prices will be relatively high too. Once we sign them, their commercial value will greatly diminish, leaving us with a loss.”

”So, it’s best to place heavy bets on athletes who have performed well in world competitions over the last three years and are likely to win gold medals in this Olympics.”

As he spoke, Zhang Jingdong naturally thought of Liu Xiang.

After all, in the 2004 Athens Olympics, Liu Xiang was undoubtedly the biggest dark horse.

So he continued, ”I’ll give you a list of those people and you can personally negotiate. Sign as many as you can. Meanwhile, I’ll work hard on my end to secure some athletes that might become dark horses in this Olympics.”

Lin Xirui was reassured by these words, ”Alright!”

Zhang Jingdong heard the excitement in her voice and couldn’t help but tease her, ”Okay, business talk is over. Now I want to say a few words with my girlfriend, is it convenient?”

”...Of course, it is. I miss you!”

”What do you miss about me?”

”I miss everything.”

”And where do you miss me most?”

”I miss you everywhere.”

Zhang Jingdong burst out laughing, ”Looks like our President Lin has finally grown up. I just love your honesty. I’ll surely give you a few tutoring sessions someday.”

”Sure, you... you can come to the office and tutor me right now if you want.”

Zhang Jingdong was thoroughly amused, ”Tsk tsk, is this still my President Lin? You’re making me pleasantly surprised!”

”Are you coming over then?”

Lin Xiran’s tone unexpectedly carried a hint of seduction.

Zhang Jingdong felt a rush of warmth in his chest, ”Tomorrow! Tomorrow I’ll definitely come to your office for a few lessons!”

”Ugh... I’ve said that, and you still won’t give in! Boss Zhang, something seems off about you. Confess, where are you now?”

Zhang Jingdong quickly and seriously thought about it but couldn’t come up with a seemingly perfect excuse.

So he had to say, ”I... I’m at the airport now, about to board a plane to negotiate a business deal elsewhere.”

”You’re at the airport? Off to negotiate a business deal?” Lin Xirui suddenly couldn’t help laughing, ”Boss, your excuse isn’t clever at all. You’re just sending off an air hostess, why lie to me?”

Upon hearing this, Zhang Jingdong decided to stop pretending and replied directly, ”So you knew all along and deliberately set me up! No wonder you took the initiative just now, knowing I wouldn’t come over to bother you!”

”President Lin, you’re getting more cunning!”

”I...”

Lin Xirui couldn’t match Zhang Jingdong’s experienced wit, and she was left speechless.

”I didn’t! I just wanted to test whether you’d lie to me!”

Zhang Jingdong confidently said, ”Alright, then I’ll tell you now, I didn’t actually lie. This time, I’m sending her back to Changsha purely for business reasons.”

”Once she returns, she’ll resign immediately, and since we’re planning to open physical stores across the country, I intend to start with one in Changsha, with her in charge. She’ll gradually gain experience.”

”If she’s suitable, she’ll be responsible for the future development of the physical store segment.”

Lin Xirui paused and then said, ”If you put it that way, I understand now. Clearly, the boss is not only tutoring her but also entrusting her with important responsibilities!”

Zhang Jingdong sighed, ”President Lin, if you say that, then it seems I haven’t entrusted you with enough responsibilities. Since that’s the case, let’s just have her manage the stores in the South, and you continue managing the stores in Central Huaxia, North, Northwest, and other regions.”

”Also, regarding new products, I previously thought you had quite a lot on your plate, worried you couldn’t handle it all, so I asked for five new products a month. Now let’s increase it to ten new products, which will better meet the rapid development needs of our brand.”

Upon hearing this, Lin Xirui immediately backed down, ”Boss, I was wrong, I was wrong... If that happens, I really won’t be able to handle it. I’ll never meddle in personnel matters again; you can use whoever you want, I’ll have absolutely no opinion.”

Zhang Jingdong intentionally said, ”Now you’re even speaking in opposites...”

”I didn’t speak in opposites, I genuinely mean it! Boss, don’t overthink it! Honestly, my current workload has already reached my limit; I really can’t take on any additional work!”

”So, I think it’s a very wise decision for you to have Zhou Zhou step in and help, and I absolutely support it wholeheartedly!”

Zhang Jingdong seized the chance, ”To verify if you truly mean it, let’s do this: if you really want Zhou Zhou to step in and help, then agree to one condition of mine. When I go to your office tomorrow, you have to sing ’The Blossoms on the Other Side of the River’.”

”And if you don’t want to sing, it means you’re not sincere, and then I’ll have you fully manage all online and offline matters of the fashion company. You choose!”

Lin Xirui paused, only to respond with shy amusement, ”...Okay, I agree to it... I’ll sing that, alright?”

”...You’re so annoying, only knowing how to bully me!”

Seeing her agree, Zhang Jingdong burst out laughing, ”How can this be bullying you? I’m genuinely thinking of rewarding you, okay?”

”This session is a representation of my many years of teaching experience, and under normal circumstances, I absolutely wouldn’t teach it to anyone else.”

”It’s only because you’re my Inner Chamber Disciple, and you’ve consistently performed well in various areas recently, that I’m thinking of teaching you this session.”

”And I’ll say it now: after this session, if you’re not thrilled to the point of begging me for a second session, then we’ll handle matters as you see fit!”

Lin Xirui, hearing this, became interested, ”Is it really that impressive? Alright, it’s settled then. I’ll wait for you in the office tomorrow!”

Zhang Jingdong tried hard to suppress his laughter, ”You’ll need to prepare the outfit in advance.”

”Outfit? Okay, what are the requirements?”

”Make it even more so than the last one and have the design be more ingenious there.”

”Ugh... alright.”

”Any other requirements?”

”None, I’ll take care of the rest, you just need to wait and enjoy!”
