Forcing Me to Be a Godly Tycoon, Right?

Chapter 612: Chapter 270 Romantic Cinema (Large Chapter - Subscription Request)_2

Zhang Jingdong sensed that she was moved by his singing, so after finishing that song, he sang ”The Wind Continues to Blow”, then it became Beyond’s ”Truly Love You”, ”Likin’ You”, ”Gray Trajectory”.

After completing the cycle, Zhang Jingdong saw that she seemed to be completely immersed in his singing, so he took the opportunity to elevate the experience.

”Have you noticed that Cantonese songs are really interesting? They’re like ancient poetry. You can only accurately express certain emotions with Cantonese, and once you switch to Mandarin, that feeling immediately disappears.”

Lin Shishi paused for a moment, then deeply agreed with a nod: ”That’s right, many lyrics in Cantonese indeed have a deeper artistic conception, a flavor. For example, whether it’s about loss or unattained desires, they always seem exactly right.”

At this point, Lin Shishi suddenly became curious: ”Before I only knew you were into music, I didn’t expect your singing to be so pleasant!”

Zhang Jingdong felt a bit proud: ”Not lying at all, there are many things I’m good at, besides singing, I know kung fu, dancing, playing pool, writing movie scripts...”

Hearing the first few, Lin Shishi felt a bit skeptical about this guy’s lack of modesty, but when she heard him saying he could write movie scripts, she immediately became curious again: ”You can write movie scripts?”

”I have expanded the music company into a film company, and the first movie I screenwrote will be filmed by next year at the latest. I’ll take you to the premiere then.”

Lin Shishi took a good five seconds to fully understand what he was saying, then thoughtfully nodded: ”...Okay.”

Ten minutes later, a black Land Rover Range Rover slowly stopped in front of a private cinema.

Getting out of the car, Lin Shishi first felt that this place was different from the other cinemas she had visited, but soon her attention was caught by the name of the cinema.

Because the four characters on it were — Shidong Cinema!

Seeing Lin Shishi’s curiosity about the cinema’s name, Zhang Jingdong casually reminded her: ”It was originally called Dongshi Cinema, but then I thought its homophonic sound wasn’t pleasant, so I changed it to Shidong Cinema. How does that sound, pretty poetic, right?”

Lin Shishi naturally picked up on his hint, then asked: ”Did you set up this cinema?”

Zhang Jingdong honestly admitted: ”I set it up especially for you. How does it look, pretty good?”

Hearing his reply, Lin Shishi was instantly bewildered: ”This... you... why?”

”Because I promised to take you to a movie, remember?”

”In regular cinemas outside, we can only watch the currently showing movies; we can’t watch what we want to watch, so I just had to set up our own cinema!”

”Come on, inside will definitely blow your mind!”

Zhang Jingdong said and walked ahead.

After walking some distance and realizing Lin Shishi hadn’t followed, he turned and waved at her: ”Hurry up, you’re not thinking of leaving already, are you?”

”You just promised to watch a movie with me, and you, as the impressive campus belle, must not break your word!”

By then, Lin Shishi finally snapped back to reality, gave him a sidelong glance, then slowly caught up.

Then Zhang Jingdong led her inside, straight to the second floor.

The place obviously wasn’t open to the public, only a few staff members responsible for cleanliness and routine maintenance of the equipment were present.

When Zhang Jingdong pushed open the doors to the auditorium, a massive projection hall appeared before them.

And this projection hall had two very distinct features: one, the screen was super big; two, this huge cinema had only two seats, to be precise, two large sofas, the kind that you can lie or sit on.

Zhang Jingdong walked in, his face lit with excitement: ”How about it? This is what the cinema of my dreams looks like, lying on a sofa, daydreaming in movies.”

Although Lin Shishi was a bit surprised, listening to him, she didn’t think his idea was crazy, because the cinema of her dreams was almost the same.

So this time, without waiting for Zhang Jingdong’s urging, she followed him right away.

Zhang Jingdong noticed this and immediately took out his phone, made a call, and soon the vast cinema darkened, followed by the screen lighting up.

Zhang Jingdong then greeted Lin Shishi: ”Sit.”

Perhaps because she was subconsciously a bit frightened by the surrounding darkness, or perhaps because the movie was about to start, she nodded and then sat down on the sofa next to Zhang Jingdong.

Soon, Jiang Wen’s narration began in the movie, followed by the appearance of those red, shining characters—”In the Heat of the Sun.”

A flicker of excitement passed through Lin Shishi’s eyes, as she had always harbored the hope to watch Jiang Wen’s movie in a cinema one day, but she had checked many cinemas before and this movie was never re-screened, so her wish was never fulfilled.

Yet unexpectedly, it was fulfilled today!

Subconsciously, she turned her head to take a glance at Zhang Jingdong and found that he was completely engrossed in the movie, making her feel a bit inadequate. She quickly turned back and started watching the movie attentively.

Zhang Jingdong wasn’t pretending at all; he genuinely wanted to revisit this movie because it had always been his favorite, and it was actually his first time watching this movie in a cinema.

For the next two hours, both of them stared at the screen without shifting their gaze or even changing their sitting posture much, showing just how captivating the movie was.

Then, as Ma Xiaojun jumped into the huge and azure swimming pool, Jiang Wen’s narration appeared again, and the movie gradually came to an end.

Zhang Jingdong finally diverted his attention, his face full of enjoyment, and said to Lin Shishi: ”This is my favorite movie, and it’s also because of it that I fell in love with you at first sight!”

Lin Shishi was again a bit confused: ”What do you mean by that?”

Zhang Jingdong earnestly said: ”Because, just like Ma Xiaojun in the movie, I fell in love with a beautiful woman like Milan when I was very young.”

”But what’s also miraculous is, as I grew older and my memory became chaotic, I completely forgot what that beautiful woman looked like, and sometimes I even began to doubt whether such a beautiful woman existed.”

”Until I met you! I’m not lying; the moment I first met you, I instantly knew that the beautiful woman I had always been dreaming about was you!”

Although Lin Shishi felt Zhang Jingdong’s reasoning was a bit far-fetched, seeing his serious expression at this moment made her think he wasn’t joking, so she said: ”But we definitely haven’t seen each other before.”

Zhang Jingdong then said: ”It might be because we met in our past lives, just that you forgot my appearance, and I always remembered you!”

”Like the song ’Five Hundred’ says, ’We are so different, perhaps we had deeply loved in our past lives, agreed to meet again in this lifetime.’”

Although Lin Shishi still found Zhang Jingdong’s words incredible, seeing his rare serious demeanor, she couldn’t help but be moved by his idea.

Yet, she said: ”You seem a bit too certain, don’t you think?”

Finally snapping back, Zhang Jingdong smiled and said: ”Maybe in our past lives we only met but did not fall in love because the me from that life was too ordinary, while you remained as dazzling as you are now.”

”But in this lifetime, I’m sure we will definitely fall in love!”

Lin Shishi’s heart stirred, then she blinked her beautiful eyes: ”But falling in love is a matter for two people; don’t you think your one-sided declaration is a bit overconfident? Have you considered how I feel?”

At that moment, Zhang Jingdong’s gaze intensely fixed on Lin Shishi: ”Lin Shishi, can you honestly say you don’t like me at all?”

Lin Shishi clearly didn’t expect Zhang Jingdong to suddenly ask this, and was slightly flustered: ”I... why should I like you!”

”I’m sorry, I don’t have any...”

Before she could finish, Zhang Jingdong leaned in and kissed her on the cheek.

”Congratulations to the Host for successfully kissing the target person, reward of 100,000 yuan!”
