Lin Shishi didn’t expect Zhang Jingdong to be so direct, she immediately gave him a sidelong glance: ”If you speak like that again, I’m leaving right now!”

Zhang Jingdong pouted: ”Ok, I won’t say it again, but I was telling the truth just now, you wouldn’t want me to lie to you, would you?”

”You...you’re twisting my words!”

Zhang Jingdong tried to hold back his laughter: ”Alright, alright...let’s not get stuck on that, let’s talk about something else.”

”After not seeing each other for two months, have you noticed that I’ve become more handsome?”

”You...do you even know what you’re asking?”

”Of course I know, what’s wrong with my question? Don’t you girls talk about whether Nicholas Tse, Daniel Wu, or Mr. Chen are more handsome amongst yourselves?”

Lin Shishi shook her head: ”I’m not interested in those kinds of things.”

”Then what are you interested in? Movies? Music? Travel?”

”Why should I tell you?”

Zhang Jingdong righteously declared: ”Because I like you, I want to pursue you!”

Lin Shishi was once again overwhelmed by Zhang Jingdong’s forthrightness!

She didn’t even know how to respond for a moment!

She paused for a while, then suddenly thought of something, and said somewhat annoyed: ”...but...you must have a girlfriend by now, right?”

Zhang Jingdong’s heart tightened in an instant, and he quickly realized why she would say that, and then said: ”Are you talking about Xiao Fei?”

Lin Shishi noticed the slight panic in Zhang Jingdong’s eyes, felt a bit down, but also somewhat pleased to see his weak spot: ”In her recent music video, she leaned on a man’s shoulder, you’re not going to tell me that man wasn’t you?”

Zhang Jingdong pretended to be enlightened: ”Oh...so that’s what it was, I was wondering why you were so cold towards me when I came back this time, turns out you were jealous, oh no...you misunderstood me!”

Lin Shishi glared at him: ”What are you talking about? Who’s jealous...who misunderstood you? Are you daring to say that wasn’t you?”

”But I never thought to deny it, that man was indeed me!”

”Then what more is there to say?”

”Can you listen to me fully explain, then I will also produce crucial evidence to prove my innocence!”

”I actually bought a music company, and now this music company has developed into a comprehensive entertainment company, and Xiao Fei is an artist under my company.”

”I’ll show you the evidence right now...”

Zhang Jingdong said as he took out his phone to call Mr. Chen.

”Hello, boss.”

”Mr. Chen, who is the most famous artist in our company right now?”

”...Xiao Fei, what’s up, boss?”

”Are Xiao Fei and I just purely a boss and artist relationship?”

”That’s right, what’s up?”

”Why did I appear in her music video, and why did she lean on my shoulder?”

”That was to avoid rumors about Xiao Fei, and since you are her boss, only you personally stepping in could prevent such situations.”

”Alright, busy yourself.”

Zhang Jingdong hung up the phone, then looked intently at Lin Shishi: ”Now can you believe that Xiao Fei is an artist in my company, and also understand why that segment in the MV existed?”

”If you don’t believe I own this company, I can take you there right now to have a look around.”

Lin Shishi pursed her lips: ”...no need, alright, I believe you.”

”So, do I have the qualifications to pursue you now?”

Lin Shishi’s face blushed again: ”You...saying it like this, I can’t answer your question.”

Zhang Jingdong laughed heartily: ”I understand!”

”Let’s go watch a movie now, I promised to treat you to a movie before.”

Lin Shishi clearly couldn’t keep up with his train of thought, but also didn’t know how to refuse.

At that moment, she looked at the table filled with food and suddenly remembered it was still noon, then said: ”No, I have classes in the afternoon.”

”What class?”

”...Marxism.”

”What a coincidence, I’ve been wanting to receive some ideological education recently, I’ll go with you?”

”What...what!? How can that be?”

”Can’t your class be audited?”

”But...no!”

Zhang Jing knowingly asked: ”Why not? We don’t have to go in together, you go first, and I’ll enter five minutes later, and I’ll sit in the last row, does that not work?”

”...No! Si Wen and the others will definitely overthink it!”

Zhang Jingdong sniffed: ”Do you think they aren’t overthinking it now?”

”Si Wen deliberately left just now to give us a chance to be alone, do you think she doesn’t know about our relationship now?”

Lin Shishi stared wide-eyed: ”What relationship do we have now?”

Zhang Jingdong blinked rapidly: ”Well...I’m your number one standby boyfriend!”

”You...”

Despite being irritated, Lin Shishi had no choice, because Zhang Jingdong bestowed this title on himself and didn’t even need her approval.

”You really have some nerve!”

”If I didn’t have thick skin, would I dare to pursue you? Besides, this title is for your sake!”

”Think about it, since you started university, how many boys have secretly liked you, how many have been ready to confess to you, and then how many have actually confessed to you, not lying, just these three types of guys alone are at least in the triple digits.”

”You probably found it troublesome before, but now with me as your number one standby boyfriend, I can directly serve as your shield, letting those toad guys who want to eat swan meat to drop their unrealistic fantasies!”

”You just...”

Lin Shishi originally wanted to say you’re not a toad, but firstly felt it wasn’t nice to say, and secondly, Zhang Jingdong really had the qualifications to say this, so she didn’t say the latter part.
