Lin Shishi bit her lower lip fiercely at this moment, barely regaining her composure.

Zhang Jingdong, after all, is an old fox with a thick skin, and simply shrugged it off with a smile: ”Long time no see, senior sisters. Is this the computer science whiz you recommended to me?”

Lin Shishi finally managed to speak and nodded: ”He is Chen Dongliang, the vice president of the student council at the Computer Science Department, and also Siwen’s boyfriend.”

Zhang Jingdong noticed a hint of arrogance in Chen Dongliang’s eyes, and without any offense, he proactively extended his hand: ”Hello, I’m Zhang Jingdong from the Mechanical Engineering Department.”

Chen Dongliang hesitated for a brief moment before shaking hands with Zhang Jingdong: ”Hello!”

”Come, let’s go to the private room and eat while we talk!”

After finishing his words, Zhang Jingdong led the three to the No. 6 private room he had just asked the front desk to reserve.

Zhang Jingdong handed the menu directly to Lin Shishi and Liu Siwen: ”I haven’t been here in a long time, and I’m not sure what’s good. You two order.”

Liu Siwen chirped excitedly: ”Boss Zhang, you’re being too modest. Your chef is just amazing, I feel like every dish he makes is especially tasty, you can’t go wrong with anything!”

Zhang Jingdong teased: ”Because of what you said, I must give him a bonus this month.”

Lin Shishi and Liu Siwen then ordered six dishes and a soup. When the waiter came and served everything, the four of them chatted while eating.

When they were nearly finished eating, Zhang Jingdong said to Chen Dongliang: ”Brother Chen, the reason I asked you here today is this, I’ve started a clothing design company, and we have a new line of clothes launching soon.”

”Compared to traditional sales channels and marketing models, because we are a startup brand, we have no advantage in those areas, so I was thinking of adopting the internet marketing model.”

Seeing Chen Dongliang looking a bit confused, Zhang Jingdong explained with an example: ”Do you know of Mu Zimei?”

Just as Chen Dongliang had taken a sip of soup, he choked on hearing the impressive name and coughed several times.

The faces of Lin Shishi and Liu Siwen opposite him also showed a faint blush, clearly, they both knew who this celebrity was.

Without thinking, Chen Dongliang glanced at Liu Siwen, then nodded: ”Oh... I’ve heard of her!”

Zhang Jingdong, seeing his evasive eyes, thought to himself that you’ve probably done more than just heard of her, maybe even memorized her works, right?

But what he said was: ”It’s fine as long as you’ve heard of her. I’m borrowing her method of becoming famous.”

”She was just an ordinary person, but with the power of the internet, she managed to become famous through some, oh, brief writings. This shows how powerful the internet is nowadays...”

”So, I want to copy her way of becoming famous, to make our clothing brand well-known.”

At this point, Chen Dongliang was still a bit puzzled: ”What do you need me to do?”

”I want you to help me find 200 or more students who like to go online, to post on various forums and advertise for us. Of course, I won’t let them help for nothing; I’ll give them a certain remuneration.”

Chen Dongliang hesitated: ”Over 200? How many posts do you intend to have them make?”

”I’ll pay them 0.1 yuan per post, and in the next half-month, they can post as much as they can.”

Chen Dongliang quickly did some mental calculations, then said: ”Let’s go with 200 people. Assume each of them can post 500 posts a day, that’s 10,000 yuan a day, 150,000 yuan in half a month. Are you sure your budget is enough?”

In Chen Dongliang’s mind, Zhang Jingdong’s restaurant could at most earn a few hundred thousand yuan a month, so his clothing company could presumably earn just as much.

Chen Dongliang didn’t believe that Zhang Jingdong would dare to spend so much money on this kind of internet marketing.

Moreover, Chen Dongliang actually had some prejudices against Zhang Jingdong, or one might say, a case of scholar’s disdain for the businessman.

Chen Dongliang himself had earned more than 30,000 yuan over the past year by coding for others. In his view, this was quite impressive, and even among the whole of East University, he considered himself a standout.

Until recently, when Liu Siwen accidentally revealed to him that Zhang Jingdong was the owner of the restaurant, he felt a great loss and inadequacy.

But humans are the only animals capable of rationalizing all unfavorable external factors, so after some mental adjustment during this period, he thought of a point where he surpassed Zhang Jingdong.

That is, running a restaurant is a very low-level way of making money, while he is doing real intellectual work, earning money with technology and brains, so in comparison, this guy is not on the same level as himself.

Especially this morning when Liu Siwen told him that Zhang Jingdong wanted his help, his psychological superiority over Zhang Jingdong spiked.

So from the very beginning of their meeting, he looked down on Zhang Jingdong somewhat.

Then he just assumed that Zhang Jingdong would never spend tens of thousands on advertising.

But at that moment, he saw Zhang Jingdong smiling and nodding.

”Don’t worry, my total marketing budget this time is 1.5 million, and this expense is less than one-tenth of that, so I can totally afford it.”

With those words, the whole room suddenly went quiet, as if even the sound of a needle dropping could be heard.

Lin Shishi and Liu Siwen, although they knew he was now wealthy, never imagined he could afford to spend 1.5 million on advertising.

Because by a quick calculation, that means he must be doing business worth at least tens of millions!
