Zhang Jingdong smiled and said, ”Then let’s not stand on ceremony. In the future, we’ll be one family because we are in the same company. Let’s drink to this: may our business boom and bring us all great fortune and luck; let’s make a load of money this year... oh no, I meant tonight!”

”Boss is right, to flourishing business and big earnings!”

”Big earnings indeed!”

As others chimed in, they raised their glasses.

They clinked glasses and each downed their drink.

After some more chatting, it was almost 9 PM when they left the restaurant together and returned to school.

Just as they entered the school gates, Zhao Ziqiu and her friends tactfully decided to take off first.

Then Li Nian spoke up, ”Ruirui, you take care of Boss Zhang. He’s invested so much in us, you must repay him well on our behalf!”

Zhao Ziqiu added, ”Like she needs reminding. Ruirui is great at handling these things, she won’t mess up.”

Liu Shuang said, ”You are both stating the obvious. Our boss is such a generous person and, not to mention, so handsome. Ruirui will certainly...”

Before she could finish, Lin Xirui interjected, red-faced, ”If you keep this up, I’m going back to the dorm with you right now!”

Liu Shuang quickly waved her off, ”No, no, no... Boss would never let us off if we did that. We’ll stop, we’re leaving.”

After they walked away, Lin Xirui turned back, her face flushed with embarrassment, ”They... always joke like this, don’t take it seriously!”

Zhang Jingdong smiled as he took her delicate hand, ”Of course I don’t mind!”

Lin Xirui pursed her lips, worried, ”Earlier... are you really optimistic about this business? We... haven’t even graduated yet!”

Zhang Jingdong scoffed, ”Neither have I! Don’t worry, making money really doesn’t depend on whether or not you have graduated.”

”It’s not like everyone can be as talented as you. Honestly, before I met you, I’ve never seen nor could I believe that a freshman could be so talented and make so much money!”

”Congratulations, Host, you’ve received genuine compliments from the target character, rewarded with 100,000 yuan!”

Zhang Jingdong tried to contain his smugness, ”It seems like this is the first time you’ve complimented me like this. I am a tad overwhelmed... I must reward you...”

Saying that, he leaned in and kissed Lin Xirui on her lips.

Lin Xirui took a quick look around, then shot him a reproachful yet shy look, ”We are talking serious business here, and you’re fooling around again!”

Zhang Jingdong, noticing her gentle rebuke mixed with evident cheer in her eyes, shook his head smiling, ”Don’t worry, I saw the clothes you designed today. Honestly, I am really optimistic about your, especially your, designs, so I firmly believe our company will make a lot of money!”

”I might seem a bit unreliable at times, but when it comes to business, I am absolutely rational and not swayed by emotions!”

”Are you satisfied now?”

Seeing his earnestness, Lin Xirui finally felt reassured, ”Alright, considering how successful your bar is, I’ll choose to trust you for now.”

Zhang Jingdong immediately responded, ”It looks like Your Highness has been secretly supporting my bar again. I knew you are cold on the outside but warm on the inside. Though you don’t say it, you’re always thinking of me!”

”I... I didn’t... It was Ranran who dragged me there!”

Zhang Jingdong switched gears, ”Lin Xirui, that’s not right though. As my girlfriend, not only did you not call me while I was injured, but you even had to be dragged to the bar by someone else. That’s a bit too much!”

”No, I need to properly punish you this time, or you’ll never learn!”

After saying that, he swept her into his arms and headed straight towards the academic building.

Lin Xirui, caught off guard by his persistence yet unable to resist, stammered nervously, ”Where... where are you taking me?”

”It’s not about where I am taking you, but you must take me somewhere soon.”

”What do you mean? I should take you?”

Zhang Jingdong stopped, turned around and looked at Lin Xirui meaningfully, ”You’ve rented a place outside, right? I’d like to pay a visit.”

”No! I’ve never let Ranran bring you there, how could I bring you myself? What if she finds out...”

At that, Zhang Jingdong took out his phone, ”Okay then, I’ll call her over right now, and we’ll all go together!”

Lin Xirui hurriedly objected, ”Are you crazy?”

”Are you taking me or not?”

Realizing Zhang Jingdong was serious and that he wouldn’t let this go tonight, and considering that he had just defended her honor in front of her roommates and was even starting a company to help her career,

Lin Xirui, though still reluctant, finally nodded, ”...Alright, I can take you there, but... we can’t stay overnight, because Ranran sometimes goes there very early.”

Seeing her consent, Zhang Jingdong quickly nodded, ”No problem, I promise!”

Then he led Lin Xirui towards the parking lot in front of the academic building.

When Lin Xirui caught sight of the blue Bugatti Veyron nearby, her eyes lit up, instantly forgetting her earlier hesitance.
