Chapter 404: Chapter 201: Love Settles on Qin Yu, Earning 50 Million! (Long Chapter, Please Subscribe)

By this time it was already past 7 o’clock, and the night had completely fallen.

The brightly lit luxury cruise ship passed under the Rainbow Bridge, forming a gorgeous and dreamlike nightscape.

Zhang Jingdong occasionally glanced at the riverside scenery, then at the sparkling river surface, but most of the time he was fervently admiring the beauty opposite him, who was even more stunning than a female star.

Qin Yu had also forgotten everything around her, her eyes seeing only the beloved man opposite her.

The two chatted from time to time, exchanged deep gazes, and occasionally made intimate gestures befitting lovers, such as hooking fingers.

Once again, Zhang Jingdong felt like a dream was coming true, although he had never had such a dream before, the current scene felt as beautiful as a dream to him.

Qin Yu, on the other hand, was experiencing a kind of happiness that came from the bottom of her heart. She’d never been in love before and didn’t know what so-called happiness was. But if there was such a thing as happiness, it probably felt as incredibly comforting as what she was feeling right then and there.

This made her forget about Zhang Jingdong’s philandering ways as well as the potential problems that could arise in the future.

She felt that as long as she could be with him like this once in a while, she would be content.

Zhang Jingdong noticed Qin Yu’s satisfaction with him and said, ”Lawyer Qin, since you come from an arts background, your poetry and prose should be pretty good, right? Dare you match me in a poetry face-off?”

Qin Yu, seeing his high spirits, readily replied, ”Sure, I didn’t expect Boss Zhang to have such a refined interest, bring it on!”

”I’m the handsome one, you’re the beauty, so I’ll praise the beauty in poetry, and you praise the man. We take turns, one sentence each. No mentioning anything too common, and if you take more than ten seconds to respond, you lose. How about that?”

”Okay.”

”No bragging, I’m quite good at this, so you start!”

Qin Yu blinked her alluring eyes: ”Are you sure? I scored 141 points in Chinese during my college entrance exams.”

”Really? Then you go first after all, I’ve been nicknamed Little Li Bai since I was young.”

Qin Yu couldn’t help but smile, then said, ”Fine, since you said so, I won’t hold back...”

After a brief thought, Qin Yu began, ”The stylishly dashing handsome youth, raises his glass and gazes upward to the azure sky, as graceful as a jade tree facing the breeze.”

Zhang Jingdong’s eyes lit up immediately: ”Not bad, just from this line, I believe you really did score 141 in Chinese in your exams.”

”My turn, let me think... The beauty’s like a flower beyond clouds afar, above is the vast expanse of blue heavens, below the rippling waves.”

”Green hair and a blue robe, a handsome youth, chasing the wind with a stroke of a purple phoenix whip.”

”Low and behold, a reflection without color, yet to have the Emperor’s unwavering adoration.”

”Don’t you see the southern gentleman, with a talent as fresh as spring orchids? A young man’s spirit is as vibrant as rainbows, too noble for others’ sight.”

”The rouge is not thickly spread, the idle flowers delicately fragrant. Taking a closer look everywhere, people say he has a willowy figure.”

...

The two matched more than thirty rounds, and still, no winner emerged!

Zhang Jingdong now firmly recognized Qin Yu’s talent as a poetess, while Qin Yu looked at Zhang Jingdong with new respect.

In her view, it was normal for her as an arts student to love poetry, and it was her passion for it that allowed her to accumulate such a wealth of knowledge.

As for Zhang Jingdong, for a man, and moreover a bar owner, to have such an extensive knowledge of poetry was truly remarkable.

So, she secretly gave Zhang Jingdong extra points in her heart.

”Congratulations to the Host for earning the heartfelt admiration of the target, a reward of 50,000 yuan!”

After another seven or eight rounds, Zhang Jingdong felt it was about time, and with a sigh said, ”Tsk tsk, I wanted to trick you again, but I didn’t expect you to be so strong in poetry. Let’s stop here; otherwise, at this rate, we might be doing this until tomorrow.”

Qin Yu couldn’t help but nod in agreement: ”Okay, it’s just... I didn’t expect you to be so skilled in this area. Boss Zhang, you’ve really opened my eyes once again!”

Zhang Jingdong a little smug: ”Lawyer Qin, don’t worry. In the future, you’ll discover more and more that your man is just like Doraemon, always able to bring you new surprises!”

”Doraemon?” Qin Yu chuckled: ”Haha, I didn’t expect you to be so childlike.”

Zhang Jingdong looked at Qin Yu with intense eyes: ”You’ve forgotten what ’The Little Prince’ says, haven’t you? All grown-ups were once children, although only a few of them remember it.”

Qin Yu was struck by that line!

The process of a woman falling in love with a man is usually made up of many points of liking him. If Qin Yu’s liking for Zhang Jingdong was already a long thread, then that line just now formed a very beautiful knot.

Because with that line, Qin Yu felt she saw into Zhang Jingdong’s true heart, and she believed him to be a man of very pure thoughts.

So she couldn’t help but reach out her slender hand towards Zhang Jingdong.

Zhang Jingdong was momentarily taken aback, then subconsciously held her hand.

”Jingdong, you really are a very special man. The more I interact with you, the more I feel you are the one I truly like.”

Zhang Jingdong leaned forward and kissed her delicate hand: ”Your words make me no longer envy Li Bai’s literary grace, nor Li Jiacheng’s wealth, nor the empires of those Emperors. Having a beauty like you, what more could I ask for!”

A rush of moved and joyous emotions flooded Qin Yu’s eyes, and she sweetly said: ”Later, when the boat stops, take my car... I want to be alone with you!”
