Chapter 932: Chapter 25: Enrique’s Iron Tower Era (Part 2)

This season, he has contributed to 16 direct goal involvements (goals + assists), averaging one goal every 189 minutes.

In contrast, during the Galtier era, it was one goal every 283 minutes, and even lower during the Pochettino era at 329 minutes.

Zaïre-Emery

Despite already playing over a hundred games for Paris, people often forget that this midfield prodigy is still under 20.

After Enrique gave him more tactical weight, this French superstar continues to grow and is highly likely to win the Golden Boy Award in 2025.

João Neves

When Paris spent £60 million to bring the 20-year-old midfielder from Benfica, his extraordinary talent was already known, but Enrique has brought him to a new height. This season, the Portuguese rising star leads the team in assists in Ligue 1, while also leading in tackles, already showing the makings of an all-powerful midfielder.

Doué

From the data, the 19-year-old French youngster has already created his best season: 18 direct goal involvements, averaging one goal every 111.5 minutes.

”The best coach in the world? For me, indeed he is,” Doué said in an interview with Team Report, ”Enrique truly brings the team together, creating an extraordinary spirit. He repeatedly emphasizes the tactical concept of ’creating space’—when I first arrived, I always liked to get close to the ball possessor, he kept reminding me to ’broaden the pitch,’ which has benefited me immensely.”

Enrique’s tactical wisdom and player development philosophy are leading this newly revamped Paris Saint-Germain to make a strong assault on the Champions League throne.

The collective outburst of these young talents not only fulfilled the team’s huge investment but also proved the Spanish coach’s excellent team-building capabilities.

Before the match against Real Madrid, the media was buzzing with hype.

A video of Enrique talking about coaching Chen Zhong was released among them.

Enrique revealed that coaching Chen Zhong was very simple because what Chen Zhong did exceeded the human capability range.

In fact, Enrique always admired Chen Zhong, only that he never got the chance to work with him.

As a Champions League winner, Enrique candidly expressed his view on the Ballon d’Or.

This coach stated frankly at the press conference, ”I don’t care about the Ballon d’Or. Personal awards don’t matter to me; sorry, but I’ve said it, at the moment, Osman Dembele is undoubtedly my favorite.”

As a key figure in Paris Saint-Germain’s winning of the Champions League and with his stunning performance at the start of 2025, Dembele, despite missing the beginning of the FIFA Club World Cup due to injury, remains close to Enrique’s heart.

Although the Spanish coach supports his star, he also doesn’t forget to emphasize the high level of several other players on the team.

Enrique told the media: ”I understand all this fuss surrounding the Ballon d’Or. I get it, it’s normal, it’s a box office draw. Everyone can pick their player, but besides Osman, there are many players who could win it. Personally, my favorite is Osman. Vitinha could win it too. Ashraf as well, Fabian Ruiz, and other players like Marquinhos, William Pacho, Nuno Mendes... all my players (are capable). But in the end, I don’t know who has the voting rights, and honestly, I’m really not interested.”

Despite possessing individual stars in top form, what impresses most about Paris Saint-Germain is its formidable team strength. In the Champions League final against Inter Milan and the FIFA Club World Cup debut, the Paris squad overwhelmed their opponents. This made Enrique very gratified.

Enrique emphasized again before the match against Botafogo: ”I have greater faith in what our team represents, believing in its significance in the World of Football, believing in the power of the team, believing in the power of the club. This is where my faith lies. It’s also gratifying to pass this perspective to the young players, who often have very clear personal goals, but football is a team sport. Team sports are dictated by collective factors, understanding how to share pain, how to share joy.”

Enrique concluded: ”I believe what our team conveys is far more important than a Ballon d’Or, which is a personal award, and honestly, I’m really not interested in it.”

Recently, Enrique has been blowing a breeze, the top ten coaches list in football for the 2024-25 season has been announced.

Topping the list is Paris Saint-Germain’s coach

Luis Enrique

Under his management, Paris Saint-Germain has had a bumper harvest this season.

Not only successfully lifting the Champions League trophy, but also winning the Ligue 1 title, the French Cup, and the French Super Cup, achieving comprehensive dominance in domestic and international competitions.

Since taking over Paris in 2023, Enrique has faced many challenges. With superstars like Neymar, Messi, and others leaving successively, and Mbappe transferring to Real Madrid in 2024, the team’s roster underwent significant changes. However, Enrique did not panic; he boldly employed newcomers, carrying out drastic reforms to the team’s tactics. He emphasized team cooperation, focused on executing overall tactics, and maintained Paris Saint-Germain’s strong competitiveness even after losing several superstars. In the Champions League arena, Enrique’s tactical arrangements often proved effective, the team overcame obstacles one by one, ultimately reaching the top of Europe, showcasing his coaching ability to the full.

In second place is Barcelona’s coach Flick.

Flick also brought great gains to Barcelona, winning the La Liga title, King’s Cup, and Spanish Super Cup, and the team also reached the semi-finals in the Champions League. In May 2024, after Xavi’s departure, Flick was entrusted with stabilizing the team’s morale, making reasonable adjustments to the team lineup and maximizing each player’s potential. In the league, Barcelona advanced triumphantly, winning the title with outstanding results; in cup competitions, Flick’s tactical arrangements often allowed the team to safely navigate critical moments. He emphasized the construction of a defensive system while also inspiring creativity on the attacking end, keeping Barcelona in a good competitive state across multiple fronts.

Third in Serie A is Naples’ coach Conte.

Conte led Naples to successfully win the Serie A title, breaking the league’s original pattern. Known for his iron-fisted leadership, he has high demands for the team’s tactical discipline. Under his tutelage, Naples’ players have shown tenacious spirit and excellent tactical execution. The team has balanced performances on both offense and defense, with sharp attacks and solid defense. Conte is adept at devising tailored tactics according to different opponents, allowing Naples to handle formidable opponents across the league calmly, ultimately outshining others, lifting the Serie A trophy.

Liverpool’s coach Slot is in fourth place.

Under his leadership, Liverpool strongly secured the Premier League title. Slot emphasizes the team’s overall movement and pressing, creating a team with great pressure. Liverpool conquered reverse obstacles in the Premier League with outstanding team coordination and indomitable fighting spirit. Slot is skilled at tapping young players’ potential, with many young players growing under his wing, injecting new energy into the team, resulting in a prolific attack and stable defense, making it a strong force in the Premier League.

Atlanta’s coach Gasperini ranks fifth.

Gasperini led Atlanta to achieve a third-place finish in Serie A. His offensive system is highly distinctive, with strong attacking force, often displaying spectacular offensive coordination in matches. Gasperini encourages players to attack actively, venture forward boldly, breaking through opponents’ defenses with continuous interweaving runs and passing combinations. At the same time, he also emphasizes the overall nature of team defense, making Atlanta an unsettling team in the Serie A.

The details of other coaches will not be described one by one. At the moment, Enrique is called the New Era, much like the rise of the Reds, Blue Moon in the sky, or Iron-blooded Atletico Madrid before...

Many people are calling this new era the Eiffel Tower Era.
