I Am Scouted by Real Madrid

Chapter 903: Chapter 12: Last-Second Killer Goal

Santiago Bernabeu Stadium

On the pitch, Chen Zhong looked at ease, the young Barcelona midfielder completely followed Chen Zhong’s thinking. He moved on the field, controlling the ball, using his rich experience to anticipate their anticipation.

This scene amazed many fans.

Pedri and Gavi were especially struggling.

In fact, they wouldn’t have been so passive originally, but unfortunately, Chen Zhong also outmatched them in physical confrontations, and they couldn’t stop him from moving in any direction.

While the two got caught up in a battle of wits with Chen Zhong, he keenly noticed Mbappe on the far side, using his left foot’s outer foot to flick the ball over.

The ball seemed to know how to curve, precisely avoiding the defenders’ interception, and then perfectly landing at the sprinting Mbappe’s feet.

This miraculous scene reminded people of the former Manchester City Belgian midfielder De Bruyne, whose passes had this kind of feeling.

Pedri and Gavi were both stunned.

Why is there such a midfield monster with strong physical confrontations, balanced left and right foot, and can use the left foot’s outer instep to deliver such a precise pass?

”Real Madrid’s attack!”

”Chen Zhong!”

”Left foot’s outer foot pass!”

”Mbappe!”

”The ball he received is very comfortable!”

”One-on-one with the goalkeeper!”

”Shoot!”

The fans on the stands of Real Madrid raised their arms and cheered. Amid their cheers, Mbappe calmly pushed a distant corner facing the goalkeeper inside the penalty area.

The moment the ball entered the net, it excited the fans!

4:4

The two teams returned to the same starting line.

Mbappe smiled and ran towards the corner flag to perform his iconic celebration, while Real Madrid fans on the stands were shouting Mbappe’s name, and many were also shouting Chen Zhong’s name.

Everyone knows who is the biggest contributor to Real Madrid’s two consecutive goals!

Yes, it’s Chen Zhong.

Even Alonso on the sidelines didn’t expect the team to equalize the score so quickly.

After a brief hesitation, Alonso also understood the reason. Chen Zhong played in the second half, and the intensity of the national derby was already high.

Facing the experienced and physically fit Chen Zhong.

The exhausted Barcelona midfielders were no match for him.

And they could only be kicked into ”fools.”

Barcelona coach Flick realized the severity of the problem, attempting to make adjustments, but Real Madrid had already gathered momentum.

They launched wave after wave of attacks, repeatedly starting to threaten Barcelona’s goal.

However, they still couldn’t find the opportunity to break through the opponents.

The Barcelona fans on the stands were constantly tense, not daring to think about what kind of ridicule and mockery they would face after the match if Real Madrid reversed the game today.

Real Madrid fans had a completely different mindset, waving their arms on the stands, loudly cheering for the team.

They hoped to see their team reverse the game.

”The match continues!”

”During this period, Barcelona adjusted their strategy.”

”The coach’s adjustments on the sidelines had an immediate effect.”

”Real Madrid’s attacks have a hard time threatening the goal!”

”However, in terms of the match process, a draw isn’t unacceptable.”

The commentary echoed the thoughts of most fans from both teams.

Whether it’s Real Madrid fans or Barcelona fans, a draw result is acceptable.

Even for Alonso and Flick, they think getting points in a national derby is reasonable.

”Real Madrid’s attack!”

”Mbappe!”

”Taking the ball!”

”Trying to break the deadlock with individual skill.”

Mbappe received the ball and charged towards the goal.

Facing the piled-up Barcelona defenders inside the penalty area, he utilized rhythm changes to dribble past two players consecutively.

Just as he was about to complete his shot, Gavi rushed out.

This Spanish bulldog cleared the ball away with one swift kick.

Tick, tick, the match was about to end. When seeing Gavi complete the clearance, the Barcelona fans on the stands breathed a sigh of relief, while the Real Madrid fans shook their heads regretfully.

Both team’s coaches on the sidelines watched this scene expressionlessly, their faces neither joyful nor sorrowful.

”The match is close to ending!”

”Mbappe created a threat.”

”But Gavi’s defense was incredibly proactive.”

”He cleared the ball with one kick!”

”The referee is about to blow the final whistle.”

”What?”

In the countdown phase before the match concludes, the ball cleared by Gavi traced a high parabola and landed near the top of the penalty arc.

The air in Santiago Bernabeu Stadium seemed to solidify, with eighty thousand pairs of eyes simultaneously focusing on the white-clad figure—Chen Zhong, standing still like a sculpture, but suddenly moving as the ball descended.

Sideways, he leapt into the air, his left leg whipping through the air for a powerful strike, the ball turning into a streak of white light and hanging straight into the top right corner of the goal.

This celestial strike, reminiscent of Zidane’s in the 2002 Champions League final, threw the entire stadium into frenzy.

The broadcast captured two shocking moments: Barcelona’s goalkeeper Ter Stegen’s frozen body, as if under a spell, and on the sidelines, Alonso instinctively touching his head, a gesture identical to Real Madrid assistant coach Zidane’s reaction to Zizou’s goal twenty years ago.
