I Am Scouted by Real Madrid

Chapter 910: Chapter 15: Iron-Blooded, Squalid, Old Marshal, Old General

Metropolitan Stadium

City Derby

Atletico Madrid fans are extremely passionate, preparing various banners and creating a huge buzz both inside and outside the stadium.

Chen Zhong sat in the bus, looking at the scene outside, feeling both familiar and unfamiliar.

His thoughts couldn’t help but return to the early days when he just joined Real Madrid, back when Chen Xuan was given a critical mission, Aguero hadn’t retired yet, and was a budding young talent. At that time, Real Madrid was trailing Atletico Madrid by one goal...

And set the record for the fastest goal...

Returning to the present, Chen Zhong looked at Atletico Madrid outside, a trace of solemnity in his eyes.

More than once, he thought Simeone’s coaching journey at Atletico Madrid would end; there was a time when Atletico’s performance was really indescribable. Many believed Simeone would leave, but now...

Simeone has revitalized Atletico Madrid once again.

Even in the first match of the FIFA Club World Cup, they were defeated 4-0 by Paris Saint-Germain, but on one hand, PSG had just won the Champions League and was at the peak of morale, and on the other hand, Atletico might not have been giving it their all.

Under Simeone’s coaching, Atletico Madrid has formed a unique system of defensive tactics and counter-attacks.

This system is difficult to be slaughtered by a large score.

Simeone’s team is based on solid defense, using compact defensive methods to compress the opponent’s offensive space, making it difficult for them to find breakthroughs.

Currently, Atletico’s defensive line with players like Lenormand and Jimenez is experienced, their body confrontation abilities and defensive awareness are outstanding, effectively limiting the opponent’s attacks.

Midfielders like De Paul actively fall back to assist the defensive line to complete the defense tasks.

After successful defense, Atletico Madrid quickly launches counter-attacks, utilizing the speed and positioning of forwards Griezmann and Alvarez to catch the opponents off guard.

Atletico’s counter-attacks are usually simple and efficient, forming threatening offenses in a short time through quick passing and player movement.

This tactical style gives Atletico Madrid a chance to secure victories through defensive counter-attacks even against strong opponents.

Paris Saint-Germain is indeed strong, but Atletico Madrid is definitely not weak, as evidenced by their performance this season.

The city derby is intense and competitive, both teams traditionally engage in verbal spats before the match, and in the pre-match press conference, attention will be on the key players from both teams.

From the list provided, Real Madrid players’ fame consistently dwarfs Atletico Madrid.

Whether it’s the nine-time Ballon d’Or winner, sometimes criticized by fans for being elevated by Real Madrid to a level not belonging to him, Chen Zhong, or Real Madrid’s ”rising stars,” clearly are mountains Atletico Madrid finds difficult to surpass.

For instance, the current three stars of Real Madrid: Mbappe, one of the top forwards in today’s football, known for his astonishing speed and exceptional shooting ability.

His speed is like lightning, able to break through the opponent’s defense in an instant to create excellent shooting opportunities.

In this season’s matches, Mbappe has repeatedly scored crucial goals for the team with his personal ability, being one of the most relied upon players in Real Madrid’s offense.

As of now, Mbappe has scored multiple goals in various competitions, making Real Madrid’s offense sharper and more threatening.

Vinicius is a highly talented winger, his dribbling skills are outstanding, allowing him to easily break through opponents’ defenses on the wing.

Vinicius’s speed and explosiveness are also strong, he often uses his speed to deliver crosses from the baseline, creating scoring opportunities for teammates.

Furthermore, Vinicius has a certain shooting ability, his anticipation and shooting techniques in the box are steadily improving, making him an important figure in Real Madrid’s attacking line.

Bellingham, the young midfielder, has already become one of Real Madrid’s core players.

Bellingham’s passing accuracy allows effective organization of attacks in midfield, providing ammunition for forwards.

His defensive awareness is also outstanding, actively participating in defense to help regain possession for the team.

In matches, Bellingham also has strong forward penetration ability, frequently inserting himself into the penalty area to create scoring opportunities for the team. Bellingham’s comprehensive abilities make him indispensable in Real Madrid’s midfield.

Compared to Real Madrid’s stellar lineup, Atletico Madrid seems less impressive, yet should not be underestimated.

Alvarez, as a key figure in Atletico’s front line, has performed excellently this season, scoring multiple goals.

His shooting skills are superb, whether it’s in the box or long shots, both are highly threatening.

Alvarez’s positioning awareness is also outstanding, able to find the best shooting position in the box, creating scoring opportunities for the team.

Furthermore, Alvarez has certain passing abilities, able to collaborate with teammates to provide more options for the team’s offense.

Griezmann is one of Atletico Madrid’s offensive cores, his comprehensive skills allow him to excel in multiple positions as forward and midfielder.
