I Am Scouted by Real Madrid

Chapter 878: Chapter 89: Trembling Hands_2

Manchester United, which always bursts with vigor in adversity, did not achieve its wish this time, despite many naive English journalists believing it would be the case.

The Giggs scandal was exposed before the match, photographers blocked the Scotsman’s house, waiting to capture one or two invaluable private photos.

In such an unfavorable public opinion environment, Ferguson angrily decided to ban the journalists who mentioned Giggs at the press conference from following the team.

Thus, Henry Winter, the chief writer for the Telegraph, believed he sensed a counter-reaction, truly thinking that based on nearly 20 years of understanding Manchester United, the more the moment where everyone attacks, the more the magic shines brightly.

He believed that Giggs was originally a popular figure in the locker room, his predicament might lead to unprecedented unity in the locker room, and Ferguson would take on all the focus, the united fighting spirit was formidable.

Perhaps not able to match in tactics, but Manchester United’s spirit attribute could bring unexpected results.

However, Wembley favored Mourinho, and did not allow Ferguson to secure his third Champions Cup in his coaching career; rather, Mourinho claimed his third Champions League trophy in his coaching career.

Right at Wembley, Real Madrid developed the beauty of football to the extreme.

From then on, Wembley no longer needed legends, because this Real Madrid itself was already unsurpassable.

In the 1966 World Cup final, England conquered with the twin towers, and West Germany bowed in submission.

But in German, there’s still the term ”Wembley goal,” referring to the controversial goal scored by Hurst.

Busby created the second group of ”Busby Babies” ten years after the Munich air disaster, dominating Europe here, then Mourinho laid down the blueprint for the Real Madrid dynasty for the next 20 years here at Wembley.

This team was evaluated by Ferguson like this: ”I used to think the best club I had seen in my coaching career was Barcelona.”

”In the last Champions League final, never had another club given us such a chance.”

”But Real Madrid has Chen, who is too young, and he will dominate the midfield in the future.”

To hear such words from a knight who has already been in the football scene for over twenty years is imaginable.

And when Ferguson said this, his hand kept trembling, as if telling the strength of the opponent.

2:0.

Once, Manchester United wanted to continue its tradition, the players still wanted to run, wanted to fight, but fatigue made their legs weak, and they could only look helplessly at the opponent controlling the game like a monkey, effortlessly dictating the pace and destiny of the game.

Ferguson’s hand trembled, he clenched his fist, released it, and clenched it again, at this moment he already realized it was difficult to reverse the score.

This feeling of helplessness wasn’t there in the last moments of the 1999 final, nor in any league clash with any opponent.

Ferguson was the last opponent standing in front of this unprecedented Real Madrid.

Looking at those joyful Real Madrid fans pouring into London City, those Madrid people who occupied the streets and alleys of London with the belief they must win the championship, Chinese people.

Many expected the Red Devils to face Real Madrid like warriors, proving the balance in football in this world.

Before this match, Manchester United spent almost 20 days studying combat tactics.

During that time, Ferguson and his think tank watched Real Madrid’s footage all day, studied the opponent’s passing routes, and it was reported that Ferguson prepared a special formation for falling behind in score, going to great lengths.

But in face of a truly perfect team, most of these preparations were futile.

They chased the score across the field, chased the opponent, but there was no result.

Manchester United fans eagerly awaited Rooney’s goal, but until the end, Wembley did not echo with the song often heard in national team matches ”Roo——ney”, the treatment of a national hero, like General Nelson in the Napoleonic Wars, but Rooney did not fulfill the expectations of English fans.

Even in the end, Rooney still used the stubbornness and vigor of local players to forcefully break through from the left, and continued to run tirelessly.

But when Chen Zhong was on the pitch, Real Madrid fans felt at ease, and those in the stands were not at all flustered, they waved their pure white scarves and continuously sang, danced, believing continuing to score was just a matter of time.

Just like at Bernabeu, they cheered for every beautiful goal and violent long shot collaboration, even shouted along with the passing rhythm. The fan mentality and the players’ game mentality were perfectly in sync, Rooney and his companions soon found that relying on this tough goal to reverse the score was just a fantasy.

Ferguson’s hand trembled, Van der Sar hugged Giggs tearfully, one’s last battle before retirement, the other mentally and physically exhausted by a scandal.

Accepting fate, Ferguson gathered courage to congratulate Mourinho, wishing ”the stronger team wins,” ”look forward to next year’s return.”

But, next year returning here, would Real Madrid have found the answer?

This dynasty can only await its internal collapse.

And who can solve the All-Powerful Chen Zhong, has become a challenge for all ambitious teams facing him, how can they defeat this midfielder destined to become a legend following Gullit, Vieira, Zidane, and other legendary midfielders?

Outside the stadium, journalists were also shocked by the optimism and enthusiasm of the Spanish people.

The English’s unrestrained nature often achieves its extreme performance under the dual stimulation of alcohol and victory.

Real Madrid fans arrived en masse at Wembley, with all kinds of exotic attire and singing, overshadowing the home advantage of the Red Devils.

In their eyes, there were no enemies, only defeated opponents. They naturally high, a group of people hugged together filming themselves dancing and singing; they mocked past defeated opponents, some fans brought a huge billboard, on it depicted Guardiola and Messi sitting in front of the TV watching the game, one asking the other, ”PorQue” (Why did we lose)?

Real Madrid fans enjoy football while using all their creativity and wisdom to ridicule opponents.

In the face of the dynasty, Guardiola struggled and fell, even though his dream team three was strong enough, even when confronting Real Madrid, they could have advantages, even able to take certain upper hands.

But Chen Zhong matured further, Real Madrid’s system became more distinctive, and had the addition of Khedira, Kaka, and other new signings, from the first team to bench depth, Real Madrid improved another level from last season.

Local league turned into Real Madrid’s solo performance; on the Champions League stage, the Red Devils’ last line of defense also collapsed, all of Europe was under Mourinho’s feet.

After winning, he was tossed into the air by the players, experiencing an invincible sense of honor.

Some even said after the match, the current Real Madrid is the strongest team in history, but the always arrogant Mourinho showed rare humility, he said: ”The strongest team in history? I can’t say that because there are many teams whose matches I haven’t seen, like Stefano’s Real Madrid, Pele’s Santos, and Cruyff’s Ajax.”

Mourinho did not forget the turmoil in the semi-final with Barcelona, he sarcastically said, ”I also want to congratulate Manchester United because they are a great team with a great coach; I want to congratulate the referee, he performed very well; I want to thank the fans, their performance was very civilized; I also want to thank UEFA, because the pitch conditions were very good.”

Real Madrid versus Manchester United’s match was called a contest between Earthlings and Galaxy Battleship, however from the score to the course of the match all showed that Galaxy Battleship is just that, from a technical perspective, they are undoubtedly Europe’s strongest team, any club facing them cannot say they will surely win.

But the result.

Perhaps the feeling can be sensed from Ferguson’s trembling hand.
