I Am Scouted by Real Madrid

Chapter 877: Chapter 89: Trembling Hands

This was a record-breaking night: when golden streamers floated in the air, when Chen Zhong lifted the Champions League trophy high on the podium, when he set records again and became ”the Special One”, when people look back on football history, in this era, Chen Zhong became the inevitable and extraordinary one.

After the match, when Mourinho and Ferguson were interviewed, they could not help but talk about Chen Zhong’s contribution in this game, and major media outlets poured out a flood of articles discussing this match.

Marca stated that Manchester United only managed to stand on equal footing with Real Madrid for a very short spell; very quickly, Real Madrid became the masters of the game.

Even when Manchester United completed a tackle, the ball was still 70 meters away from Casillas, and Manchester United lacked a player like Chen Zhong who could deliver the final blow.

In this match, Chen Zhong once again proved he possessed a world-class level; not only was his individual ability outstanding, he was also the spiritual leader of the players.

Catalonia’s Daily Sports also commented that Real Madrid ”dominated Wembley”; fans can bestow all kinds of adjectives on Real Madrid, but no matter how you praise them, it still feels insufficient to capture Real Madrid’s power and beauty.

This was a final that will be remembered by fans forever, and after winning the first Triple Crown in club history, Real Madrid expanded their legend yet again. Real Madrid are unimaginably powerful, ruthlessly cruel; at Wembley there was only one team—that was Mourinho’s White Knight.

In Europe, France’s Team Report lavished exaggerated praise on Real Madrid: ”Real Madrid, welcome to Earth! Chen Zhong, the captain of the new century.”

Milan Sports Newspaper wrote that the Champions League final was a ”Real Madrid show and, even more, Chen Zhong’s coronation ceremony.”

In Germany, Bild praised Real Madrid as ”an unbelievable team and an unbelievable Chen Zhong.”

Portugal’s Ball Report declared: ”The Chinese have conquered the whole of Europe.”

In the United Kingdom, commentary focused on Real Madrid’s superiority and Chen Zhong’s outstanding performance. The Independent believed it was ”Chen Zhong who led the sparkling Real Madrid to victory,” while the Guardian wrote that ”Chen Zhong touched Manchester United’s sore spot” and ”Real Madrid’s style of football left Manchester United tottering.”

The Daily Mail held that Real Madrid are ”forever the best” and that Chen Zhong is forever full of fighting spirit and menace.

Real Madrid once again climbed to the throne of Europe, and in this, Chen Zhong’s contribution is beyond doubt.

The Sun hailed Real Madrid as the undisputed kings; in the photos they printed, Chen Zhong’s ecstasy formed a stark contrast with Rooney’s dejection. The paper argued that Chen Zhong and his teammates shattered Manchester United’s European dream.

The Daily Telegraph commented: ”At Wembley Stadium, Real Madrid held an overwhelming advantage in Ball Control; you could say Real Madrid gave everyone a football lesson.”

No one had expected Real Madrid to be able to play such beautiful pass-and-control football.

The Daily Mirror wrote: ”After crushing Ferguson’s Manchester United with beautiful football, Real Madrid have cemented their status as the best team of the last ten years.”

Ole quoted a line from Guardiola to praise Chen Zhong: ”Messi is the best midfield player I have seen, and will continue to see.”

Guardiola watched this Champions League final in Barcelona; this was not the first time he had praised Chen Zhong. In his mind, Chen Zhong is the perfect template. Everyone knows Guardiola likes Chen Zhong, but he cannot get him.

The paper said that Real Madrid are a team that love football, know how to win matches, and know how to entertain the fans; the legendary Real Madrid proved their hegemony at Wembley.

Brazil’s Lance Sports simply declared: ”Real Madrid are a team from another planet! They shouldn’t be on Earth, they should be in the Galaxy, and Chen Zhong is without doubt a qualified captain.”

Real Madrid fans planted the club flag on Trafalgar Square.

Here stands the statue of Horatio Nelson, the England national hero commemorating the Napoleonic Wars; it was taken over by red-and-blue flags.

At night, Real Madrid’s players cut down the goal net at Wembley Stadium and took it away whole back to Spain—in a single day, the people of Real Madrid had captured the two things England was most proud of.

Ferguson said gloomily that his opponent was at the very peak of its life cycle.

They are invincible; they are peerless under heaven.

Ferguson’s hands were trembling; even though the match was over, they still could not stop. On camera, he said dejectedly: ”He’s only in his twenties, yet he already has two Ballons d’Or.”

”If he can continue at this pace, then he will keep Real Madrid flourishing.”

Right now Chen Zhong has only one Ballon d’Or, but relying on his performance in the final and the glory of the club’s Triple Crown, in the next Ballon d’Or voting, Chen Zhong will undoubtedly claim a second.

Before the match, rumors in the British camp were full of ”winning secrets” and a ”special 3-4-3 formation”; it seemed Ferguson already held in his hands the secret technique to beat Real Madrid.

Yet Real Madrid were just there, unhurried, calmly preparing, playing their own game.
