I Am Scouted by Real Madrid

Chapter 837: Chapter 71: Ambition Unleashed (Part 3)

In the 62nd minute, Benzema assisted another goal. He easily passed back from the left, and Callejon scored after shaking off Stankevicius in the box.

After scoring a goal in this match, Benzema temporarily surpassed Villa to become the fourth top scorer in Spain, only behind Messi (50 goals), C. Ronaldo (43 goals), and Rossi (29 goals). However, Villa later scored in the match against Osasuna, catching up with Benzema. Benzema has scored 22 goals in all competitions: 11 in La Liga, 6 in the Champions League, and 5 in the King’s Cup.

Mourinho is satisfied with Benzema’s performance, so will Benzema get a chance in the Champions League semi-final against Barcelona? Benzema isn’t concerned about that. He stated that the most important thing is for the team to win. ”Winning a match before the Champions League game is very important. It is a wonderful day; we played an outstanding match, scoring six goals. Valencia is a good team, but Real Madrid played a fantastic game. As for the league title, we will fight until the last moment. Now we have a month to win an important title like the Champions League.” Of course, he is also satisfied with himself: ”Personally, I feel quite good now.”

The Benzema-Higuain-Callejon trident kept the celebration going for Real Madrid at Mestalla Stadium.

These three players teamed up to break Valencia’s defense into pieces; the ”Bat Team” had no power to fight back.

Benzema, Higuain, and Callejon took turns providing assists and scoring goals. Real Madrid enjoyed themselves at Mestalla Stadium, with the forwards appearing particularly frenzied.

Even Catalonia’s ”World Sports Newspaper” stated that Real Madrid achieved a tennis score, mainly due to the trident’s harmony rather than Valencia’s weak defense.

Kaka, Higuain, and Benzema displayed great synergy throughout the match. Real Madrid’s third goal was a perfect example of collaboration among these three attacking talents. At that moment, Benzema passed the ball from the front of the box to Higuain on the right, the Argentine crossed, and Callejon pushed the shot into the net.

Actually, most of the other goals were also products of the trident’s cooperation. The first goal was Higuain assisting Benzema, the fourth goal was Callejon assisting Higuain, the fifth goal was also Callejon assisting Higuain, and the sixth goal was Benzema assisting Callejon. Only the second goal was Higuain’s solo performance.

Valencia fans waved white handkerchiefs to express dissatisfaction with their team. Ultimately, Real Madrid scored six goals at Mestalla, marking the first time in the stadium’s history that the home team was breached six times by the opposition.

Callejon, Higuain, and Benzema proved their value in this match with assists and goals. Even without key players like Chen Zhong and Kaka starting, Real Madrid still played efficient and sharp football comparable to the main lineup. Real Madrid players immediately launched attacks with direct passes after winning the ball in midfield and defense. The forwards utilized speed and personal skill to attack behind the defenders and complete goals in the simplest way.

Benzema, Callejon, and Higuain are not lacking in speed. They dismantled Valencia’s defense with powerful straight-line attacks. All three players have a chance to play against Barcelona, and they will continue to surprise the fans.

Next, it’s time for the Champions League semi-finals again.

And the opponent...

is still Barcelona!
