I Am Scouted by Real Madrid

Chapter 836: Chapter 71: Ambitions Ablaze (Part 2)

Real Madrid doesn’t need intricate football coordination, nor a high ball control rate, they destroyed the timid opponents with ease.

Real Madrid’s victory over Valencia bears the name of Higuain, who scored a hat trick, while Callejon and Benzema also found space to explode.

Valencia’s generosity was the best remedy for these Real Madrid players who are seeking a return, especially Callejon, who never had such an easy time wreaking havoc on the opponent’s half as in this match.

According to Diario AS, to understand how embarrassing Real Madrid’s defeat of Valencia was, one only needs to look at Real Madrid’s starting lineup for this match. Albiol and the youth academy product Nacho served as the left and right full-backs respectively, with Granero at right wing, Callejon at left wing, Parejo as the attacking midfielder, and Benzema and Higuain at the front — many of these players lacked playing time and needed games to rebuild confidence, and Valencia became their practice target.

If you have any doubts about such a starting lineup, those doubts vanished when the ball started rolling on the grass at Mestalla Stadium.

Real Madrid didn’t find a match on the field, Valencia was unable to negotiate with Real Madrid at all, and Mourinho’s team had resolved the match even before returning to the locker room at halftime. Benzema, Higuain, and Callejon scored goals in succession, strengthening Real Madrid’s confidence, while Valencia was never weaker than today.

After gaining a significant lead, Alonso, Chen Zhong, and Kaka came on to replace Canales, Higuain, and Parejo, allowing even Real Madrid’s substitutes to have rest time.

After the match, Mourinho was full of confidence, saying, ”My players always respond positively. I am very satisfied. Valencia is the third-ranked team in La Liga, one of the most important teams in La Liga. People often lose ambition after celebrations, but my players have played magnificently even after the King’s Cup banquet. Now I feel that we can beat any opponent on any field with just any lineup.”

Mourinho even began planning for next season’s roster: ”We don’t need to make major changes to the lineup. Normally, bringing in two or three new players will be enough. Next season, team members won’t need to get acquainted with each other anymore. Generally, my teams perform better in the second season than the first, it was like this at Chelsea and Inter, and I hope it will be the same at Real Madrid.”

Real Madrid’s substitute depth was demonstrated; it’s not just about having stars on the bench, but more importantly, these players can show sacrifice, whether as protagonists or supporting roles, and will give their all once they get a chance.

The Madrid media even believes that, from this perspective, Real Madrid has the best squad in the world. Now the media is full of confidence in the team, stating that Real Madrid secured the King’s Cup title in a ”pioneering” state, reached the Champions Cup semi-finals, and their points in the league were also sufficient to win. Next season, under Mourinho’s more meticulous plans and the players’ better understanding of his philosophy, the team’s performance will further improve.

However, some are concerned that if this season Mourinho revisits the Triple Crown honor like in Inter,

he will face enormous pressure in the next season, but who cares?

In this match, Real Madrid defeated Valencia 6-3, and Benzema’s performance was eye-catching.

Benzema is not the kind who never gives up, but as long as there is an opportunity, he also tries his best to seize it.

In the match against Valencia, Benzema started and didn’t let the opportunity slip. He scored a goal and participated in the planning of several team goals, being one of the best performers in this match.

Benzema proved through his performance that Mourinho can still trust him in crucial matches.

Before his injury in the French national team, Benzema was originally at his best state since joining Real Madrid. He consistently delivered critical goals, becoming a player the team couldn’t do without. However, the injury affected Benzema, and Adebayor’s presence and Mourinho’s tactical changes lowered his role within the team.

Against Valencia, Benzema started, and regardless, seizing the opportunity in front of him was the most important for Benzema. In this match, the French forward appeared very active, maintaining tight connections with his teammates throughout the match, consistently posing threats to Valencia’s goal.

Moreover, in the match, he once again helped Real Madrid open the can.

In the 23rd minute, Real Madrid intercepted the ball and passed it, Higuain crossed from the right, Guaita made an error and failed to catch the ball, and Benzema seized the opportunity, effortlessly scoring from the edge of the small penalty area on the left side of the box.

In the 39th minute, Benzema orchestrated a goal, when at the opponent’s penalty area front, under a blockade of several players, he passed the ball to the right side to Higuain, who then crossed from the right side of the box, and Callejon pushed and scored.
