All Worlds Beg the Villainess to Act Like a Human

Chapter 20: Chapter 20: No One Can Take Her Empire (20)

”Besides, after so many years of battles for the throne, I’m also tired. I want to try being the emperor for a change.”

Hee Qingshan’s heart skipped a beat, that wouldn’t do.

”Great King, how about this? Now is the time when everyone hopes for it, let me try it first. If there’s anything I don’t understand, I’ll ask you. Once the world is stable and I’m tired of being emperor, I’ll return the throne to you. How about that? It seems the Great King’s health might not be fit for these duties. Forcing an ascension could cause dissatisfaction among the soldiers.”

Hee Qingshan was taken aback, recalling his appearance and recent moods, perhaps inciting many to harbor other thoughts.

”The Great King’s wounds still require treatment, especially the scars on your face. Once your injuries heal, and I’ve had enough of being emperor, we can discuss the matter of abdication. How does that sound?”

Hee Qingshan certainly didn’t want this, but now he seemed to have no reason to refuse. Without Yun Qianyan’s willing support, others might be dissatisfied, and he wouldn’t sit firmly as emperor.

It was truly infuriating, who told him all military power was in Yun Qianyan’s hands?

Now, he couldn’t tear face, he must coax Yun Qianyan well. Once he recovered, convince him to abdicate, help him secure the throne, only then could he deal with those disloyal to him and replace them with his own confidants.

”If Yan’er encounters anything unclear regarding the administration, you may come ask me.”

”Of course, after all, once I’m done being emperor, I will hand the throne over to the Great King.” Qiann Yan smiled, ”For now, I merely follow the will of the people, experience it, and also stabilize the public mood, to prevent further chaos.”

Hee Qingshan wanted to say more, but only felt uncomfortable all over; he indeed needed to recuperate properly. Without recuperation, he might soon perish even after becoming emperor.

He bitterly hated in his heart, but could only feign deep affection and reluctantly agree.

Half a month later, Qiann Yan ascended the throne as emperor, founding the State of Yan, with the era name Chuhe.

At the same time, she bestowed rewards to officials; those soldiers who followed her in battle, she knew well, and soon placed them in their respective posts.

Additionally, she issued an imperial edict to recruit talent from all over the land.

Following that, she planned to open examinations to swiftly select talents.

Qiann Yan’s decision stirred the entire realm, as it meant everyone had a chance.

Xun Zihuai was appointed State Preceptor, not just because he was a fortune teller, but because of his vast talents. This State Preceptor was truly the teacher of the nation, the teacher of all people. She felt that Xun Zihuai, though young, was capable of the responsibility due to his talents.

She arranged for book writing, cultivation, and copying, and also established schools, which are places for the growth of talents and the foundation of the nation.

Such tasks she had done countless times.

Moreover, it was essential to vigorously develop agriculture.

Xun Zihuai recommended talents from the Xun Family and other regions to Qiann Yan, all possessing abilities; she welcomed them all, assigning everyone to their suitable positions, truly making the best use of everything.

In a few short months, the Xun Family descendants were completely convinced by her, addressing her as ”Your Majesty” with every breath, their hearts filled with ”Your Majesty,” making Xun Zihuai quite annoyed. This treasure, obviously discovered by him first, yet many Xun Family members were eager to show themselves.

In half a year, Qiann Yan stabilized and developed the realm, and the common people gradually began to lead steady and peaceful lives.

Hee Qingshan remained the same, occasionally irritable, scolding servants, going mad at night; many thought he was abnormal. Fortunately, since he wasn’t emperor, people acted as if he didn’t exist.
