The Entry-plundering Demon Hunter

Chapter 59: Chapter 59: Hello, Cousin

The afternoon sparring session began.

Lin Yi stood alone on the fighting ring.

He was like a Martial God descended from the heavens, exuding an intense and oppressive aura.

It left all of Yang Yong’s students filled with trepidation.

He was clearly just a high school senior.

Yet they didn’t dare to spar with him.

Three rounds...

No one could last more than three rounds sparring with Lin Yi.

Within three rounds, they were guaranteed to be completely crushed.

How could this be called sparring? It was obvious they were just serving as his practice dummies.

Zhou Qi looked at Yang Yong with a wry smile.

”Brother Yang, why don’t you let Lin Yi come down and take a break!”

”No one dares to go up and spar with him now. Just look at them, what a bunch of cowards. They’re all terrified!”

”Even for a spar, getting hit by his punches hurts like hell!”

Yang Yong shot him a glance.

”They’re cowards? Then why don’t you go up and give it a try?”

”It’ll be a perfect chance to see if you’ve fixed those openings from yesterday!”

Yang Yong’s words sent a chill down Zhou Qi’s spine.

Now, even his gaze toward Lin Yi betrayed a hint of fear.

’He’s an absolute monster.’

If the other students didn’t dare go up, then of course Zhou Qi didn’t dare either.

After a long moment, Zhou Qi forced a laugh. ”Let’s just forget it. I think I’m good just training by myself!”

”Good? What’s good about it? Get up there!”

”The city-wide tournament is next week! Don’t you want to win some honor for our Martial Arts Hall?

Let me tell you, the gym is counting on you to make a splash at the tournament. If you don’t seize this chance to train and end up embarrassing me, just wait and see how I deal with you when you get back! Now get up there!”

Faced with Yang Yong’s fury, Zhou Qi was out of options.

He stared intently at Lin Yi again.

He could only grit his teeth and nod. ”Fine, I’ll go. I’m going, alright?”

With that, Zhou Qi walked up to the fighting ring.

When Lin Yi, on the ring, saw that the first person to come up for a spar was Zhou Qi,

A flicker of madness, almost imperceptible, flashed in his eyes.

”Senior Zhou Qi, I’ve been waiting for you!”

”Waiting for me? What do you mean?”

Zhou Qi froze, his brow deeply furrowed as he stared at Lin Yi.

Lin Yi didn’t answer, instead glancing around the room.

”There are no students from other training rooms here, right?”

”N-no... What on earth are you getting at?”

Lin Yi chuckled. ”Please, instruct me!”

The next instant, Lin Yi transformed into a streak of golden light and shot toward Zhou Qi at incredible speed.

Watching Lin Yi charge at him,

Zhou Qi’s face paled in terror. ”Holy shit... Golden Light Fist? Are you trying to kill me?!”

BOOM—

A massive crash echoed.

Every student in the training room stopped what they were doing.

All heads turned toward the fighting ring.

After a long moment, Zhou Qi was seen struggling back to his feet.

He clutched his chest, coughing several times.

When he looked up at Lin Yi again, his eyes couldn’t hide a flicker of anger.

”Lin Yi... were you... were you using me to test out your move?”

Lin Yi gave a sheepish chuckle and scratched his head. ”The others can’t take this punch. Only you’re skilled enough, Senior Zhou Qi, so I wanted to give it a try!”

”I only used about thirty percent of my power just now. I wasn’t even going all out!”

”Fuck...”

Hearing Lin Yi say that, Zhou Qi was on the verge of cursing him out.

He then forced himself to stand up straight. ”From now on, you’re not allowed to use Golden Light Fist. Just use basic fist techniques against me. Don’t forget, you’re here as a sparring partner, not to compete!”

”Your job is to help us students find our shortcomings, not to get into a real brawl! Why are you fighting so hard for?” Zhou Qi complained, his face a mask of grievance.

He was still stewing over the fact that Lin Yi had just used Golden Light Fist on him.

It was a good thing Lin Yi hadn’t used his full power.

And he had only used thirty percent of his strength. One could only imagine how tyrannical the Golden Light Fist truly was.

That single punch could have taken Zhou Qi’s life.

He was genuinely scared now.

His gaze became evasive.

Lin Yi smiled and nodded. ”Alright, I’ll remember. Just basic fist techniques. Senior Zhou Qi, can we start again now?”

”O-Okay... wait, are you sure you’ll just use basic fist techniques? No more Golden Light Fist, right?”

”I’m sure!” Lin Yi replied with a nod.

”Alright then, let’s begin...”

The word had barely left Zhou Qi’s mouth when,

Lin Yi once again used Flash Step, appearing instantly in front of Zhou Qi.

He then threw a vicious punch straight at Zhou Qi.

...

「The night grew deeper.」

The day’s work as a sparring partner was finally over.

Lin Yi changed into his own clothes and walked out of the locker room.

Yang Yong was already there, waiting for him.

”Coach Yang!”

Lin Yi walked up and greeted him with a smile.

Yang Yong nodded slightly and handed Lin Yi an envelope. Inside was five thousand yuan for the day’s sparring session.

”Thanks!” Lin Yi didn’t even count the money.

He just stuffed the envelope into his pocket.

”I’ve already spoken to the person in charge of the Martial Arts Hall about letting you enroll for free.”

”He can’t make the final decision on his own, though. He has to discuss it with the Hall Master.”

”We should have an answer in a day or two. Regardless of whether you get to enroll for free, I’ll call and let you know!”

After Yang Yong finished, Lin Yi nodded with a light smile. ”Thank you for your trouble, Coach Yang. I’ll wait for your call!”

”Alright, go on. Be careful on your way out.”

”Okay.”

Lin Yi nodded and walked straight to the elevators.

Just as his figure disappeared into the elevator, Zhou Qi, who had also changed, walked over. ”Brother Yang, what are you staring at? Not heading home?”

At his words, Yang Yong turned around.

Zhou Qi had a dejected expression, his shoulders slumped, a gym bag slung over one of them.

His right hand clutched his shoulder, and he looked to be in pain.

”What, still hurting?”

Zhou Qi nodded, looking wronged. ”Of course it hurts! I finally get why nobody dares to spar with Lin Yi. He’s not guiding our moves at all, he’s just using us for practice!”

”And I also noticed that he’s improved a lot just since yesterday!”

”His combat experience is richer, and every punch and kick is clean and decisive, catching you completely off guard...”

Yang Yong grinned. ”What did I tell you? You’re just a genius, but he’s a monster.”

”Alright, go home and get that treated.”

”Alright, I’m heading out then. See you tomorrow!”

Zhou Qi nodded and walked toward the elevators.

Meanwhile, Lin Yi had already reached the ground floor.

As soon as he stepped out of the elevator, the receptionist greeted him with a smile.

”Take care, Senior!”

”Hm? Oh, thanks!”

Lin Yi nodded and headed outside.

But just as he stepped out of the Martial Arts Hall’s main entrance,

a small sports car was parked at the curb.

Lin Yi glanced at it subconsciously, and the car door swung open.

Then, a young woman with a mature sense of style,

stepped out of the car and called out to him. ”Lin Yi...”

Lin Yi paused, studying the young woman for a moment.

Certain that he didn’t know her, he walked closer, puzzled.

”You’re looking for me?”

The young woman nodded with a small smile. ”That’s right. I’m Wei Nan’s cousin. Get in the car first, we can talk on the way!”

Hearing this, understanding dawned on Lin Yi.

He quickly smiled and said, ”Oh, I see! Hello...”
