New Ability Every Ten Days: Becoming a Vampire Made Me Too OP

Perhaps human nature was ultimately just eating one’s own words.

I’m never drinking blood again!

The Blood of Pangu? Okay, that was amazing!

Perfect Lifeform’s blood? Okay, that was amazing too!

After drinking the Blood of Pangu and the Perfect Lifeform’s blood, Yu Xian now wanted to try drinking the blood of every animal he saw. He was just curious about whether he could grow a new heart.

Although the Slashing Mantis’s blood did not look very appealing and even seemed somewhat poisonous, he still could not suppress his curiosity. He stepped forward and collected a tiny amount of its blood in a cup.

His vampire fangs grew out, and he took a small sip from the edge of the cup. Then his face scrunched up. Ugh! It’s awful!

The Slashing Mantis’s memories were disgusting, especially the memories of it eating. They made Yu Xian want to throw up the dinner he had just eaten. That proved that he shouldn’t just drink any animal’s blood. At the very least, most vampires probably wouldn’t be interested in mantis blood.

It took Yu Xian quite a while to recover, and he felt as though his face had turned a little green. Fortunately, this round of blood drinking had not been fruitless. Through the Slashing Mantis’s memories, he had seen something interesting.

On the back side of the mountain ahead was a very well-hidden cave. To hunt down a large rat, the Slashing Mantis had once entered that cave.

In the Slashing Mantis’s memories, Yu Xian saw many traces of artificial excavation inside the cave. When the Slashing Mantis had chased its prey halfway down the tunnel, it sensed danger and quickly withdrew from the cave.

What exactly is inside? Is a fugitive hiding there?

The first thing Yu Xian suspected was that a criminal had dug that cave. Many supernatural beings would flee cities after committing crimes. Huaxia had always administered strict and severe punishment for supernatural crimes. So, these fugitives did not dare show themselves in human society and could only live like savages in the wilderness.

Before joining Qilin, Yu Xian had also considered escaping into the wilderness to avoid the Blood Race’s pursuit. Fortunately, he had listened to Nora’s suggestion and, with Jin Sheng’s help, successfully joined Qilin. He did not actually have to become a savage.

Yu Xian thought it over. Seeing that it was still early, he decided to take a look at the cave. ”It’s only a little past six. I’ll scout it out!”

If a criminal was hiding inside, he would act according to the situation. In case the criminal was stronger than him, he would call for backup. But if the criminal was far weaker than him, he would capture and send them to the Public Security Bureau.

As for someone who was neither too strong nor too weak or only slightly stronger than him, they were simply out of luck. He would kill them without exception!

Yu Xian remembered that Qilin had bounties on most supernatural fugitives. The higher their rank was, the higher the bounty would be. He did not mind earning a few extra merit points.

One minute later, Yu Xian arrived at the entrance of the cave. After confirming that the cave was the same as the one in the Slashing Mantis’s memories, he quickly controlled a bubble and entered it.

The inside of the cave was pitch-black, but to him, it was no different from daytime. He observed the walls. Sure enough, they had been excavated by hand, and judging from the look of it, it was done quite some time ago.

He quietly passed through the tunnel. The space ahead opened up into a spacious stone chamber. Inside the chamber was only a stone bed. On it, a middle-aged man was sitting cross-legged in meditation.

The instant Yu Xian’s gaze landed on him, the man opened his eyes. When he saw Yu Xian, he was greatly startled. Yu Xian had been hovering in the air from the very beginning. His spatial bubble was a self-contained space. Therefore, not a trace of his aura had leaked out on the way. That was why the middle-aged man had not noticed anyone entering at all. Only when Yu Xian’s gaze landed on him did he sense something and realize in shock that someone was there.

Yu Xian also immediately recognized this man. He was a Wolf-rank wanted criminal, Zhong Wuliang. Eight years ago, Zhong Wuliang had flown into a fit of road rage and brutally beaten hundreds of ordinary humans in Tower City to death. After that, he had fled the city and vanished without a trace.

However, Qilin had kept a bounty on Zhong Wuliang all this time and never given up hunting him down. Today, Zhong Wuliang’s bounty had reached 50,000 merit points, along with a reward of two million yuan.

Zhong Wuliang did not ask who the intruder in his cave was. He instantly entered combat mode. A heavy purple-gold hammer appeared in his hand, and he swiftly smashed it toward the intruder.

The massive purple-gold hammer slammed into the surface of the bubble, and the bubble burst on the spot. However, Yu Xian had already teleported away, leaving behind nothing but a handful of explosives that tumbled from the bubble onto the ground.

The entire stone chamber shook violently, and Zhong Wuliang was blasted black as charcoal. Zhong Wuliang was a body-tempering martial artist. He had cultivated the Eight Treasures Elephant-Suppression Art to the seventh layer and possessed Wolf-rank strength. Although the explosives were powerful, he had blocked most of the damage with another heavy purple-gold hammer. The remaining shockwave was not enough to break through his defense.

Holding the two heavy purple-gold hammers, he knew very well that he could not stay here for long and immediately sprinted toward the cave entrance. But suddenly, two sharp thuds echoed simultaneously from his front and rear, sounding exactly like sweet potatoes hitting the dirt.

His pupils contracted sharply. He quickly used his heavy purple-gold hammers to guard both his front and back. In the next instant, two explosions rang out simultaneously. The entire underground cave shook, and stones even began falling from above.

Zhong Wuliang realized what was happening. ”Not good. He’s trying to trap me in here.”

He immediately gritted his teeth, exerted his strength, and charged forward. But an earth-shaking explosion came from the cave entrance ahead. The entire mountain trembled violently, and the passage began to collapse.

Zhong Wuliang flew into a rage. He swung his arms wildly, smashing every falling rock and every boulder blocking his path, desperately trying to blast open a way out. But the passage was collapsing too quickly.

”No!” he shouted.

When he had first dug out this cave, it had taken him a full half day. The passage was long and winding. He had thought it was hidden enough that no one would ever find it. Instead, it had become the very thing that buried him alive.

Zhong Wuliang watched helplessly as the collapsing rocks sealed the passage ahead. He knew very well that it would take him at least two hours to smash his way through it. A wave of despair rose in his heart.

Several more explosives suddenly appeared out of thin air, landing near him.

”Damn it! Damn it! Damn it!”

The veins on his forehead bulged as he furiously swung his hammers in all directions. In the next moment, he was swallowed by another explosion.

The environment and terrain here were simply too well-suited for explosives. When Zhong Wuliang had dug this cave, he probably never imagined that he would have to fight an ultra-rare spatial ability user there. In the end, his caution had come back to haunt him.

But that was perfectly normal. Spatial ability users were extraordinarily rare. There were probably fewer than fifty of them in the entire world. Zhong Wuliang could never have imagined he’d be unlucky enough to run into one.

After the explosion, Zhong Wuliang was covered in wounds, though they were all superficial. The body of a body-tempering martial artist was very tough. Even the enhanced explosives had a hard time doing any serious damage to him. However, if there was one thing Yu Xian had no shortage of, it was explosives. He had more than enough.

Zhong Wuliang gasped for breath. Realizing that the intruder had no intention of letting him go, he threw caution to the wind and began digging through the surrounding rock, racing against the clock to carve out a way to survive.

More and more explosives fell around him, but none of them exploded. Zhong Wuliang caught sight of the explosives on the ground from the corner of his eye, and cold sweat covered his forehead. His hands swung the heavy purple-gold hammers even faster.

If it were one explosive or even a dozen, he truly would not be afraid. But if there were hundreds of explosives, even a body-tempering martial artist like him would not be able to withstand their explosion.

It was especially so in this kind of sealed environment, where the blast’s effect would be amplified even further. Just imagining so many explosives exploding at once made his scalp go numb.
