New Ability Every Ten Days: Becoming a Vampire Made Me Too OP

There were no dark clouds in the night sky, only moonlight, starlight, and wind. The landscape below was like a clear lake. Wind swept across it, sending waves rippling through the trees. A transparent bubble hung high in the air. Inside it, a young man sat cross-legged, taking in the beautiful scenery.

Yu Xian watched a massive Silver Stallion King gallop across the plains, while packs of Draconic Gale White Wolves hunted herds of Heaven-Leveling Bulls. Above him, Sonic Hunter Bats dove back and forth in V-shaped formations, and in the distance, a gigantic cobra chased a rainbow-colored python.

Just then, a giant eagle with a twelve-meter wingspan dove down from the sky. The ground shook with a thunderous rumble as a tiger was pinned firmly beneath the eagle’s talons, its tongue hanging out, completely unable to move.

Yu Xian took a photo of this scene, then quickly increased his flying speed. He did not dare linger there for even a moment.

”Does this count as an Eagle-rank crushing a Tiger-rank?” he muttered to himself.

He posted the photo in Qilin’s chat section, then waited with a smile for everyone else’s replies. Sure enough, it did not take long before the night owls started chiming in.

Fae: I told you something was wrong with the rank order. Tigers can’t even fly, so how can they be ranked above eagles?

Miaomiao: So, as an Eagle-rank, I’m stronger than a Tiger-rank? Nice!

Trivia: Quick explanation. The giant eagle in Salted Fish’s photo is actually a Tiger-rank magical beast called the Golden-Winged Dharma Eagle, while the tiger it was hunting is a Wolf-rank demon called the Sunder-Blade Tiger. There is actually a whole rank dividing them.

Seventeen: A tiger that isn’t Tiger rank but Wolf rank instead. What a disgrace to tigers.

Drunkard: A disgrace to tigers. +1

Fat Cat: A disgrace to tigers. +1

Piggy: A disgrace to tigers. +1

Yu Xian read the amusing comments with a smile. Then, seeing that everything after that was just ”A disgrace to tigers. +1” and that no one had derailed the thread yet, he put away his phone and continued flying.

Everyone was just stealing a bit of fun from their busy schedules. A tiger being Wolf rank was nothing; ordinary tigers without any supernatural power could not even qualify as Insect-rank. That would be even more disgraceful to tigers.

As he flew in the air, Yu Xian saw a brightly lit area in the distance and felt slightly relieved. After leaving Silver City, he had finally encountered another city. He glanced at the navigation on his phone, learning that the city ahead was Bamboo City.

Famous for its bamboo products, Bamboo City was a small city with a population of less than ten million. Every household in the city grew bamboo and lived alongside pandas. These pandas were not ordinary; they were supernatural beings.

The city governor, in particular, raised a giant Tiger-rank panda whose combat strength was not even inferior to a Dragon-rank powerhouse. Because of that, although Bamboo City was small, it was extremely stable and peaceful.

As Yu Xian flew over Bamboo City, many pandas lying in the bamboo forests raised their heads to look at him. Some of the more vigilant ones even roared at the sky.

When Yu Xian saw a few round, chubby cubs, he could not resist landing and taking a flurry of photos with his phone. ”So cute.”

Leaving behind a few spatial bubbles smaller than pinpricks, he quickly left Bamboo City. If he did not run now, he was going to get beaten up by pandas.

After putting some distance between himself and the city, Yu Xian looked at the scenery ahead. For some reason, he felt a sense of peace. The fear and unease he had felt when he first left Silver City were swept away the moment he reached Bamboo City.

It turned out that on this same land, in this same time and space, even in a place so far from Silver City, there were still compatriots with the same eyes and the same skin color working hard to live their lives. Even far away from Silver City, he was not alone. It was like having a place to return to. No matter how far he traveled, he would not lose his way.

Two hours later, Yu Xian looked at the red circle on his navigation app. He raised his head curiously and looked toward the location marked by the red circle at his left.

It was a restricted zone. Huaxia had many restricted zones like this, designated as such for all kinds of reasons. For example, if the mess left behind by Deimos could not be cleaned up and the toxin swamp remained, that entire area would be marked as a restricted zone.

There were also cases where various supernatural creatures above Tiger rank occupied a certain area. For safety reasons, those places would also be marked as restricted zones. Besides that, some ancient battlefields and the tombs of Dragon-rank powerhouses would be marked as restricted zones as well.

Finally, there was the Abyss. Any region with an Abyssal Rift was a restricted zone at the highest alert level. Not only would troops be stationed there, but a Dragon-rank powerhouse would also stand guard.

Yu Xian enhanced his vision from the sky, wanting to see what was inside the restricted zone before him. From a great distance away, he spotted a three-legged golden toad over a hundred meters tall. No, that was not a golden toad. The enormous dragon horns on its head and the giant gold ingot on its forehead were both clearly different from those of a three-legged golden toad.

Yu Xian frowned slightly and tried using Appraisal.

Yu Xian’s eyes nearly popped out of their sockets. To think such a divine beast existed in this world. At this moment, he no longer cared about dragons or phoenixes. The only thing he loved was this Dragon King Golden Toad. He wanted to touch it so badly.

Yu Xian stared at the motionless creature, almost drooling. Would touching it make me rich?

Just then, the Dragon King Golden Toad slowly opened its eyes. It happened to be facing Yu Xian, its red eyes quietly looking straight at him.

Yu Xian froze. He knew that creatures such as frogs, toads, and bullfrogs seemed to react to moving creatures and that they could shoot out their tongues at incredible speed to catch prey.

Surely, the Dragon King Golden Toad does not have that same trait, right? But in case it does, will it attack me if I move?

He was already extremely close to the restricted zone. For all he knew, he was probably already within its attack range.

And so, the two sides stared at each other from afar. The Dragon King Golden Toad’s eyes showed no emotion whatsoever, while Yu Xian gritted his teeth and forced himself not to blink, staring at the creature.

Roughly three hours later, the creature closed its eyes. Yu Xian finally let out a breath of relief. However, at that very moment, the Dragon King Golden Toad suddenly shot out its tongue. The tongue approached Yu Xian’s bubble at a speed Yu Xian could not react to at all, only to stop right before striking it, less than a centimeter away.

Yu Xian’s eyes widened as he stared at the enormous tongue in terror. Only when he realized that the Dragon King Golden Toad had no intention of attacking him did he come back to his senses and notice that a blade was stuck to the creature’s tongue.
