Greatest Legacy of the Magus Universe

Chapter 1320: Adam’s Scroll

The following day, the Herbalists of the Tsuitsui Clan got busy gathering the necessary herbs and ingredients that would heal Adam’s injuries.

What surprised them the most was that Adam was personally involved in the process. They weren’t aware of the fact that he was a Herbalist himself, one with deep knowledge of the art.

Inside a large underground chamber somewhere within the Verdant Palace, a large pool was constructed. Disciples of the clan could be seen coming in and going out of this chamber, carrying precious materials.

Some of the elders had also gathered here out of curiosity. After all, it wasn’t every day that they got to see the previous patriarch, Masayori Tsuitsui, in action. This was a Grade 4 Herbalist!

The elderly man squinted his eyes as he read the scroll Adam had handed to him. He murmured, his tone laced with intrigue:

”Scarlet ginseng root, hmm, yes. That will invigorate blood circulation and stimulate rapid tissue repair. The jadeleaf balm will cool inflammation, yes. The moonfern sprouts will accelerate cell regeneration. Very interesting.”

He turned to Adam, who was standing beside him, and praised. ”Your attainments in the Way of herbalism are very deep, boy. I am impressed.”

Adam had spent the last couple of months getting acquainted with the local herbs that were exclusive to Yen-Lu. Now, his preparations were coming in handy. But this was only a drop in the ocean compared to the vast medicinal knowledge he had acquired thanks to the lotus.

Oh, you have no idea, Adam thought to himself smugly.

Outwardly, however, he laughed and laughed and laughed.

Masayori’s lips twitched. ”Unfortunately, there is no cure for your insanity.”

”Auhh-auhh!” Adam muttered randomly.

Masayori turned his attention towards the large pool and said with a thoughtful look on his face:

”Since you could survive Goro’s poison arts, that indicates you have very high immunity towards poison. Have you thought about incorporating venom into the medicinal bath to foster regeneration?”

Adamm, who was stupidly chuckling under his breath, suddenly froze.

That’s right. I didn’t even think of that. I’ve rarely used poison, and as such, I’m prejudiced about its applications, he wondered, stroking his chin.

This could actually work. No, this could definitely work!

”Auhh-auhh!” Adam turned towards the old man and gestured for him to continue.

Masayori thought for a moment, then suggested:

”Let’s add venom of the glassback serpent. It should be in its distilled form. Hmm, and neutralized extract from the nightshade lotus. Those are used in some of our most potent poisons. Refined oil from the sesha scorpion. A few drops are enough...”

Adam nodded from time to time. He also laughed from time to time. But overall, he felt that Masayori’s advice was pretty solid.

”But I must remind you of something, boy.” The elderly man’s expression turned grim. ”The pain you will undergo... it would be unlike anything you’ve ever experienced. There’s a slight chance that you might even die during the process. As a Herbalist, I must warn you of this beforehand. Are you still willing?”

Adam raised his head and flashed a wide grin. ”Auhh!”

If there was anything that he could consider himself to be an expert in, that would be enduring pain.

He had survived inside the stomach of a Transcendent abomination from the Spirit World.

As for surviving a highly potent, poisonous medicinal bath?

What a joke!

Masayori was a little speechless. He had heard about eccentric people who enjoyed inflicting pain on themselves. He couldn’t help but wonder... could Adam be one of those weirdos?

Whatever it was, he was certain that the youth was a complete madman.

”The bath will be ready in a week,” he said in a solemn voice.

”Until then... you’d better prepare yourself.”

Verdant Palace.

Inside a sealed chamber, a very secretive meeting was taking place. There were only five people in attendance. They were the Patriarch, the Princess, the Grand Elder, and two other high-ranking Elders.

”Whatever we discuss in this room must not leave this room,” Dokuto Tsuitsui muttered with a solemn expression. ”What I’m about to talk about is highly confidential. It could potentially change our clan’s standing within the Arcane, no... within the lands of Yen-Lu!”

Is this related to what Ao showed Father a few days ago? Reika thought to herself with a solemn look on her face.

Just what could it be to get Father so worked up?

The Grand Elder stated solemnly, ”Patriarch, I will swear a mana oath right here, right now—”

”No need.” The Patriarch gently smiled. ”I trust all of you. You are some of the most capable people in the clan, and your expertise is needed in this endeavor.”

”Yes, Patriarch!” The others cupped their fists and solemnly proclaimed. ”We shall give it our all for the glory of the clan!”

”Good.” Dokuto nodded. Then, he unfurled the scroll Adam had given him and placed it on the table before them.

”After discussing with the Supreme Ancestor, we have come to the conclusion that this plan is feasible. Although the costs are somewhat steep, the benefits are unparalleled.”

Everyone turned their attention to the scroll.

”What is this?” Reika frowned. ”A large-scale runic formation?”

”T-this is...” The Grand Elder’s eyes trembled. ”Is this even possible?!”

The other two Elders were also equally stunned. Reika’s eyes gradually widened, and she couldn’t help but cover her mouth.

She turned to her father and spoke in astonishment, ”This... is this what Ao gave you in return for healing his body?”

Dokuto revealed a faint smile. ”Sometimes I wonder if that child doesn’t realize the value of this scroll, or he’s simply too generous.”

He paused for a moment, then nodded. ”Yes, this is Ao’s gift to the clan.”

Reika couldn’t help but blurt out in surprise, ”Why would he give away something so... priceless?”

”I’ve heard he’s a bit... crazy,” one of the Elders spoke up. ”I think he might not even know the true value of what he’s given us.”

Yet, the Patriarch didn’t see it that way.

Maybe he doesn’t consider this to be of value at all, he thought with a bitter smile.

It makes me wonder... what is his true background?

They had all the right to be thoroughly shocked by the contents of the scroll. It was something that could directly elevate their clan’s strength, after all.

Adam’s scroll contained none other than...

The mana-gathering runic formation!
