Prodigal System in the Flourishing City

Chapter 1780: Chapter 1783: Action

Chaotic Land.

Liu Bo had just finished a preaching assembly.

The sect he founded was developing way slower than Qin Hai’s pyramid scheme!

Qin Hai’s side had already finished their ”harvest,” while his side had only just barely taken shape.

And most of his followers were Cultivators below the Golden Core Stage, utterly useless!

One reason was that his line of work couldn’t, like Qin Hai’s, dangle benefits straight in people’s faces; what he needed was to slowly seep into people’s hearts.

The second reason was that Qin Hai had received an invisible helping hand from Xin Lifeng, while he was fighting alone out here.

It was way too hard!

After all, Cultivators as a species were inherently battle-oriented creatures; some even believed in their hearts that cultivation meant going against the heavens.

So they really didn’t believe in any sects at all.

Relying on heaven, earth, or immortals was not what Cultivators did!

Even the scale Liu Bo had reached so far was mostly thanks to his superpower.

To be honest, his superpower was pretty chicken-rib.

So chicken-rib that he couldn’t even be bothered to name it; in the end, it was Lu Xiaobu who gave it a name—”Mother’s Gaze”!

What did it do?

Wherever he looked would heat up, that’s it!

And this heating wasn’t some laser-eye where one glance set things on fire.

No, it just warmed up—inside and out—making people feel a very comfortable warmth.

Back in the Heavenly Dynasty he’d relied on this trick to make believers trust his sect, but here, that didn’t work!

Only some low-level Cultivators would believe it somewhat; once you went beyond the Golden Core Stage, nobody bought it!

”Ugh! Where am I supposed to find a high-level Cultivator!?”

Liu Bo was so worried he was yanking at his hair!

Right now he urgently needed a high-level Cultivator.

After all, the dominance higher-level Cultivators had over lower-level ones was practically absolute; as long as one high-level Cultivator believed him, then the lower-level ones, and even peers at the same level, would be at least half-convinced!

And just then—

”How about me?”

Xin Lifeng silently appeared in the room, grinning as he looked at Liu Bo.

”Who are you!?”

Liu Bo jolted violently, then flipped his body around, staring warily at the suddenly appearing Xin Lifeng!

”Me? I’m Xin Lifeng, Out-of-Body Stage. First time meeting you, please take care of me!”

Xin Lifeng said with a cheerful smile, ”No need to be nervous, Lord Lu sent me!”

”Oh?”

Liu Bo didn’t relax his guard in the slightest.

But then Xin Lifeng pulled out a specially-made identification item.

This was manufactured on the Blood Continent, created by combining Technology with cultivation methods; for the moment, no one else could forge it.

Seeing this, Liu Bo finally let out a slight breath, though he remained cautious.

Even though this thing was forgery-proof, it could still be robbed from someone else.

”Right, and this.” Xin Lifeng took out a phone and clumsily opened the video function.

Inside was a video recorded by the advisory group.

Seeing this, Liu Bo finally felt at ease.

The editing skills that flooded the streets back in the Heavenly Dynasty were, here, actually the safest anti-counterfeiting measure.

They were basically bullying Cultivators for not knowing how to record or edit videos!

”Hello, my name is Liu Bo!”

Liu Bo relaxed and then spoke, adopting a slightly lower posture.

After all, the other party was a Cultivator, and an Out-of-Body Stage Cultivator at that; he should show some respect.

”No need, no need!” Xin Lifeng waved his hands in a hurry. ”I’m here to follow your arrangements. Just tell me what to do!”

”We’ll discuss together, discuss together!” Liu Bo was all smiles too.

This really was like getting a pillow the moment you felt sleepy!

Out-of-Body Stage—great, now they could finally expand!

”Alright then, let’s discuss together.” Xin Lifeng nodded. ”I’ve actually been here for a few days already. I’ve been watching, so I do have some ideas.”

Then Xin Lifeng and Liu Bo launched into a whole series of discussions.

Through mutual discussion, both of them felt a bit of ”regret meeting so late.”

Liu Bo marveled at Xin Lifeng’s understanding of Cultivators’ psychology and his completely un-stuffy way of thinking.

While Xin Lifeng marveled at how refined and ingenious Liu Bo’s entire brainwashing process was.

After a whole night of discussion, they finally set the direction for future development and believed they were definitely going to accomplish something big!

So, the next day—

The operation in the Chaotic Land began!

The first step was to release news of Xin Lifeng’s identity.

Xin Lifeng’s Out-of-Body Stage level and his former status as a Great Master of the God Slaying Alliance, now wanted by the God Slaying Alliance, would serve as the knock on the door for this plan.

The second step, after publicizing his identity, was to announce that Xin Lifeng was a member of the sect.

Immediately, the people of the Chaotic Land started to move.

First, a bunch of Nascent Soul Stage folks without any backing joined the sect with the idea of seeking refuge under Xin Lifeng.

After all, compared to other forms of surrender, this kind of indirect contact was a lot safer.

Then there were some rebel forces who wanted to rope in Xin Lifeng—the man who knew a ton of internal God Slaying Alliance intel—who also joined the sect.

Of course!

They were joining the sect purely to get close to Xin Lifeng; they weren’t actually believers.

But so what?

As long as they joined, they had to obey sect rules, study the doctrine, read the scriptures, and even go out and preach the benefits of the sect.

Everyone knew perfectly well—if you’re going to act, at least act convincingly!

Just the haul from the first day was enough to keep Xin Lifeng and Liu Bo excited all day.

It was like negotiations: they weren’t afraid of you harboring ulterior motives, they were only afraid you wouldn’t even make contact!

Sure, you’re smart, you’ve held onto your true hearts—but what about those people who believed your words and muddle-headedly joined the sect?

They didn’t know what you were thinking; they would only instinctively believe—if so many people say it’s good, it must be real.

Alright, with this foundation laid, the rest was just rolling a snowball.

To accelerate this process, that afternoon Xin Lifeng even secretly gave a few veteran Golden Core Stage believers some pointers, letting their cultivation increase enough to be visibly noticeable.

Then they credited those improvements to the sect.

With that, those who hadn’t really believed before would gradually start trying to believe!

Now it all depended on the third step!

That night—

Xin Lifeng received a notification—the third step was complete!

He got so excited he almost smashed the wall beside him with one punch.

This third step was to contact a disciple of the great powerhouse in charge of this region through Xin Lifeng.

By offering this disciple a ton of benefits, they got him to verbally acknowledge that he, too, had joined the sect!

And now, the other party had agreed!

That was basically the same as getting official recognition!

He believed that once this news spread tomorrow, there would definitely be even more people joining the sect!

Xin Lifeng couldn’t help clenching his fists in excitement again—maybe he could never become a player, but he would definitely become the most useful chess piece!
