Prodigal System in the Flourishing City

Chapter 1767: Chapter 1770: Direction

Nanshan City.

The strategy group erupted once again in debate.

They didn’t know how many times they had argued like this already.

But this time, the topic of debate was somewhat special.

”On the Significance of Ordinary People’s Development”

This issue was raised from the beginning, but initially, there were not many opposed to it.

After all, back then, most people were still intoxicated with the feeling of showing off in front of ancient cultures.

Now it’s different; that feeling has gradually faded, and many started to think from a sharper perspective.

They gradually split into two factions — the Cultivation Faction and the Ordinary Faction!

”I think further development of ordinary people has completely lost its meaning. From a certain point, ordinary people and cultivators are already two different species. I suggest concentrating all resources on high-level combat power!” A cultivation faction strategist said while standing on a chair.

”It’s unnecessary to have high cultivation levels. Even a Golden Core stage cultivator can easily destroy hundreds of thousands of ordinary people. Even if they continue to develop to modern standards, or even beyond, their displayed strength would still be limited!”

Upon hearing this, half of the strategists nodded in agreement.

Although the words sounded cruel, they reflected the observations many had made during this time.

The ordinary people here were muddle-headed, akin to living corpses. As long as they lacked spirit roots upon birth, they wouldn’t harbor lofty ambitions any longer.

”I disagree!” Another ordinary faction strategist slammed the table and stood up, saying, ”They are also human. How can you say they aren’t? Aren’t cultivators from ordinary people? As long as their lives improve, the number of cultivators will increase too!”

”What’s the use? Tell me, what’s the use?” The previous cultivation faction strategist continued to slap the table, shouting: ”For how long will their cultivation stages last? Several years, ten years, even decades! A bunch of Qi Refinement Realm, a bunch of Foundation Establishment Stage, what use is it?”

The debate was ongoing, and many arguments had been heard more than once, yet convincing the other side seemed impossible.

Hence, they decided to resolve this issue today.

Because if this isn’t resolved, it will hinder many subsequent matters.

For instance, the research on the Blood Continent; their research efforts were ultimately limited. If they delved into livelihood topics, it would naturally weaken research on combat matters.

”I think we should ask Lord Lu to resolve this issue.” After another round of debate, a strategist sighed and said.

Upon hearing this suggestion, the group fell silent, then unanimously agreed.

Thus, a crowd noisily left the City Lord Mansion to seek Lu Xiaobu.

At this moment.

Lu Xiaobu was grilling meat with his nominal master.

The meat was, of course, from demon beasts. Others couldn’t eat it, but Lu Xiaobu could make it!

Instantly, the two carefree master and disciple duo devoured it with great delight!

Yang Feng ate and laughed at her carefree disciple: ”Didn’t expect this stuff to be edible! I’ll grab another one later!”

People would wonder whether she hadn’t discerned anything despite interacting with Lu Xiaobu for so long.

Of course she had; any fool could see her nominal disciple had many secrets, but so what?

She didn’t mind!

Having him as her disciple was enough.

”Alright!” Lu Xiaobu wiped his mouth and replied with a smile, ”Once some days pass, I’ll bring my wives for you to meet!”

”Really? You have wives already!” Yang Feng was amazed.

Then she showed a mother-in-law’s expression, beginning to consider what gifts to give!

And at this moment, the strategy group arrived.

While watching Lu Xiaobu eat meat, they salivated and expressed their respective thoughts.

Lu Xiaobu listened and fell into contemplation.

He hadn’t delved deeply into this issue before. Initially, setting up various machinery was just to have some spirit stones to spend.

Now, it seemed like indeed a problem.

As he pondered, Yang Feng suddenly coughed: ”Cough cough! Cough cough!”

Lu Xiaobu glanced up and continued thinking.

”Cough cough!” Yang Feng coughed again.

Lu Xiaobu lifted his eyes again: ”Master, choked on food?”

Yang Feng wanted to hit him in annoyance, but considering her disciple’s cultivation wasn’t inferior, she begrudgingly said: ”Ask me!”

She had always wanted to share her insights, as after accepting this disciple, she hadn’t truly taught him much.

”Master knows?” Lu Xiaobu smiled.

”I don’t know.” Yang Feng rolled her eyes: ”Not even a ’please teach me’...”

Lu Xiaobu chuckled silently, teasing her.

”Alright, may I ask Master for advice!” Lu Xiaobu solemnly said.

”Cough cough!” Yang Feng immediately smiled, cleared her throat, and said: ”Your ideas, actually, none of them are wrong!”

”Huh?” Everyone, including Lu Xiaobu, was taken aback.

What kind of answer was this?

”You all are from a small world, right? So you know reaching the Golden Core stage is a bottleneck, requiring growth to the core, correct?” Yang Feng said slowly: ”Xiaobu, do you know why?”

”After the Nascent Soul stage, one starts cultivating their connection with this world,” Lu Xiaobu nodded to indicate he understood: ”Thus, you must cultivate at the core!”

”That’s right, connection!” Yang Feng tucked her hair: ”And as the connection deepens, the core continues to feedback power, accelerating your cultivation progress.”

”What does that have to do with the current discussion then?” Lu Xiaobu asked, frowning.

”Of course it does.” Yang Feng said: ”Do you assume the core is just a dead thing? Though lacking true intelligence, it has its awareness; you must understand it is this island itself!”

”Everything on this island is part of it, including the lifeforms surviving here. The stronger the people on the island become, the stronger it gets, leading to more connections and greater feedback power. Those closely connected get more benefits!”

”Thus, there are generally two approaches.”

”First, unify and develop, which is the God Slaying Alliance’s path. It’s also the path half of you want to follow.”

”Second, what the other half of you suggest, but not thorough enough: eradicate. If all life on the island vanishes except for you, then however powerful you are equals the core’s strength!”

”Alright.” Lu Xiaobu shook his head.

This did provide a thought direction.

He felt he must swiftly advance the Blood Continent’s research institute because explanations from the cultivation world always felt vague.
