Chapter 561: Chapter 559 Kill or Not to Kill [First Update]

Ten centimeters!

The attacker’s double-handed hammer was only ten centimeters away from the old man’s head!

Everyone was panicking, but the old man was composed and unruffled.

He braced his hands on the ground, and his seemingly hunched back suddenly burst forth with an explosive power!

Just like his previous Iron Plate Bridge move, only this time, it was in reverse!

Like a giant shrimp!

Head down, feet up!

A move called Rabbit Kicking Eagle!

”Snap!”

The old man’s incredibly powerful heel, supported by the strength of his waist, instantly hit the attacker’s chin!

The attacker’s jaw was struck, his body jolted abruptly and he staggered back two steps with a ’thud, thud’!

And at the same time, the attacker’s weighty double-handed hammer move was completely disrupted!

”Master!”

Zhang Meng couldn’t help but utter words of admiration next to Lu Xiaobu.

”Oh?”

Lu Xiaobu raised his eyebrows.

”Young Master, you see, this elder was clearly on the defensive from the start, being suppressed by the attacker!”

”Yet, he was able to strike first before the attacker could react, taking the initiative!”

”And this seemingly simple move of Rabbit Kicking Eagle is actually a perfect combination of strength, speed, accuracy, and extensive real combat experience!”

Zhang Meng explained admiringly on the side.

”Indeed impressive!”

Lu Xiaobu nodded after hearing the explanation.

Well, pretend to understand even if you don’t, as long as it looks thrilling!

While Zhang Meng and Lu Xiaobu were discussing, the battle there had already ended!

The attacker, who had the initiative, could not subdue the old man and was instead counter-attacked, and the old man, who regained initiative, took care of the attacker in just moments.

However, to everyone’s surprise, yet not unexpectedly, the old man did not deal a heavy blow.

Instead, after subduing the attacker, he just sat on the attacker’s body, patting the dust off himself.

”It seems that this old man is the top master, isn’t he?”

Lu Xiaobu said to Lin Feng.

”That’s not necessarily the case, what I want is not just a gentleman.”

Discontent filled Lin Feng’s eyes.

Clearly, the old man’s mercy did not satisfy him!

”I think he’s quite good,” Lu Xiaobu directly expressed a dissenting opinion: ”This is a martial contest, and you’re recruiting a bodyguard, not an assassin!”

”Who knows.”

Lin Feng responded noncommittally, but his dissatisfaction was undiminished.

...

The old man dusted off his clothes and then stood up, once again walking leisurely towards his destination.

The moment he stepped out of the forest, Housekeeper Jia immediately announced: ”The first round is over, now entering the second round, the arena battle.”

As for the attacker from before, he glanced at the old man’s back with a resentful look and then turned to leave.

Seeing this, a cold smile appeared at the corner of Lin Feng’s mouth.

Lu Xiaobu, we’ll have a verdict soon on who’s right and who’s wrong!

It looks like I’m going to win a round against you today!

Not bad!

The preparations for the competition in the arena began.

A simple platform was constructed.

Ten people lined up according to their Token numbers, followed by drawing lots.

Rules were announced!

Finally, it was time for pairs to engage in combat!

A fierce battle, even tinged with a bit of bloodshed, had begun!

Rankings were produced one by one.

As for the specifics of the combat, there’s no need to elaborate.

However, it is worth mentioning the knife master Dong Xin.

This guy really had bad luck, encountering the boxing expert he had previously been pursued by once again.

The moment he drew his lot, the master of boxing’s face was filled with a ferocious smile—he was sure to win!

As the competition began, it went exactly as the boxing master had predicted.

Dong Xin was being utterly dominated, beaten until his body was covered in injuries.

However, just when the boxing master thought he had the victory in the bag.

A hidden flying knife from Dong Xin, previously unseen, lodged into the throat of the boxing master!

This move allowed the nearly breathless Dong Xin to turn the tables and win the match!

At the same time, it provoked a mix of surprise and wariness from everyone.

This Dong Xin was truly fearsome, his performance up until now had been nothing but reckless, even resorting to extreme violence from the very start.

Yet, even during the first round, even when at the last moment, and even in the second round when he was at a complete disadvantage, he didn’t reveal this move.

Only at the very end did he strike a fatal blow!

Such a person was truly terrifying!

Only Lin Feng had an incredibly satisfied smile on his face; he waved his hand and said a few words to Housekeeper Jia.

Obviously, Lin Feng had taken a liking to this man!

No matter the outcome of the match, he wanted this person!

The martial arts competition continued.

Lin Feng paid attention to Dong Xin, while Lu Xiaobu’s attention was on the old man.

This old man was truly a master.

He fought and won all the way!

But like before, the old man never dealt a killing blow, always stopping after scoring a point.

Lu Xiaobu greatly admired this, but Lin Feng’s frown deepened, filled with a sense of rejection.

And considering the previous incidents.

This made Lin Feng decide—no matter what, he would not take the old man.

Yes, let Dong Xin take his place!

The competition resumed!

The rankings were quickly established.

Unexpectedly, the old man was not first, but second.

The first place was taken by a martial artist named Huang Huatai, who used a very rare weapon—the Double Hooks!

Lu Xiaobu also watched the final match between him and the old man.

Huang Huatai was extremely clever, utilizing a hedgehog strategy from the start, never initiating attacks but instead capitalizing on the advantage of his weapons to constantly counter-defend.

With the Double Hooks in his hands, they formed an impenetrable defense, making the old man unable to find an opening.

In the end, the old man conceded defeat.

Presumably, he thought there wouldn’t be a difference between first and second place in terms of rewards, so there was no need for a fight to the death!

With that, the martial arts competition concluded!

Adding the convalescing Dong Xin, out of twenty-eight people, only five remained.

It was exceptionally brutal!

However, the competition had ended, yet Lin Feng was still not speaking.

This left the martial artists outside feeling confused.

Especially the old man, whom Lu Xiaobu favored, whose face showed unprecedented anxiety.

His name was Duan Yue, fifty-two years old this year.

He had joined this competition solely to protect his family.

This story has to be traced back twenty years.

At that time, he too was steeped in the world of Jianghu, and when he saw a reckless young man of about twenty causing trouble, he intervened and accidentally killed the man with a heavy hand.

Coincidentally, the man he killed was the only son of a Sect Leader from a Martial Arts Sect.

From there, a relentless seven-year pursuit began.

It wasn’t until later, when he changed his name and settled down, no longer meddling in Jianghu affairs, that things quieted down.

Later on, he got married, had children, and even grandchildren, living a harmonious and happy life.

He thought that he could hide this secret for a lifetime.

But, he was discovered once again.

To prevent his family from getting involved, he had no choice but to step out once more to seize this opportunity, earning a promise from Lin Feng to prevent his family from being implicated!

But now!

He had clearly secured the second-place position, yet Lin Feng was delaying the announcement of the results, leading to an unavoidable trace of panic in his heart.

What is he planning to do?!
